I have inherited an H44 from my grandfather and I'm in the process of restoring it, but it's had several repaints over the decades. It has a black pickguard instead of the white. Do you know what the original color may have been?
@@stevovidnovic6485 how can you be so sure? The one in this video isn't copper. Thats obviously not the only color they came in so how can you tell somebody that like you know it as fact?

Trust me you can play anything on it. It has killer sustain. Thru my Plexi I can remove walls. The cheap tuners are bit hard to tune but once in you can thrash the strings all thru your gig and it will never go out. Several Days later it is really unusual for it not be in tune,.
They didn’t have truss rods. Dan Erlewine has a repair video in which he took the fretboard off one of these guitars, and inserted two reinforcing carbon fiber rods. Wonder how much he charges for that as a regular job?!
There's a really interesting video from October, 2016 of Dan Erlewine inserting a couple of carbon fiber neck rods in a early 50s Harmony StratoTone, identical to this one but for the brand name: ua-cam.com/video/Uozzynq9hPg/v-deo.html. No idea what it costs, but looks like it may not be necessary on this one. Beautiful guitar and tone!
Ritchie valens is holding a homony stratotone in a photo was copper finish but he took it to wood shop class and had it painted Buick Forrest green.
Hey Mike I found those pickups in an attic and they have a date on the back of the puos
8:33 that stratotone has a mean punch to it. I want to buy it now lol
my dream guitar! i wish i was able to afford one😓
Your enthusiasm is very inspiring...... Don't forget to let me know when you are around İstanbul :))))

What was the Riff he was playing at the start?
Is it true that this guitar has no truss rod?

neck through not set neck
Based on the thumbnail, I thought that guy was Eric Clapton and that they didn't bother to introduce him in the description xD
