Byzantine culture was characterized by Orthodox Christianity, family, and respect for order and tradition. The Byzantine Empire, also known as the Eastern Roman Empire, was a Christian state that began as the eastern part of the Roman Empire during Late Antiquity and the Middle Ages. The empire's capital was Constantinople, which is now known as Istanbul (Turkey).

Nice video, i have a question, could you perhaps do the Battle of Myriokephalon (1176), where a Byzantine army under Emperor Manuel was ambushed? Its account is very climatic and i think it would make a good video

Amazing work, I love these total war recreations of historical battles, my only criticism is the title which is a myth that needs to be universally debunked by historians. The reality is that Manizikert had no effect on whether the crusades (the more infamous Middle-Eastern ones) would happen, Pope Urban II was going to make it happen regardless because the crusades was about legitimizing his claim as the true pope of catholic christedom over his rival counterpart that the holy roman emperor had installed in Rome (Hence why Urban was in France when he made the call and not the Vatican), the vikings would have been the ideal target but the Scandinavians were by this point mass converting to catholicism and therefore were no longer "Heathens" & the raiding golden age was over, the islamic world was geographically the next closest target.
Further disproving the manzikert myth is the fact that urban made the mass rally a whole 25 years after the battle and it was after Emperor Alexios contacted him for military support...and by military support I mean he asked for less than 1000 mercenaries, not an army of 60,000 fanatics and seeing how he asked for what was essentially a warband/raiding party (I WILL DRINK FROM YOUR SKULL!) it means that even the Byzantines felt this would suffice in dealing with the Seljuks, who were in the middle of a succession crisis/tribal civil war and therefore retaking the lost territories in Anatolia wouldn't be too difficult.
Last but not least it was a total disingenuous false flag move because the catholic church didn't give a crap about the orthodox church, remember that the great schism of 1054 was barely 50 years ago and the animosity between both churches was still fresh and strong, in many instances with both the Seljuks and the Ottomans 400 years later, both churches were happy to see their rival church's sovereign kingdoms crushed underneath the hooves of Turkish horses, hence why the Vatican didn't respond immediately to manzikert shortly right after the battle, nor was there any plan to do so whatsoever from Urban's HRE backed rival in the Vatican.
But regardless this was still a great video, keep up the good worrr...aaannd here comes "ThE CrUsADeS WeRE JuStIfIeD BeCaUsE Of 400 YeArS Of IsLaMiC InVaSiOnS/OpPrEsSiOn DEEERRPP" responsives fueled by pure emotions and ignorance in 3..2..1...

Seljuks were not from central Asia, they were from Pontic Steppe. Ottomans were from central Asia.

The Seljuks were originally from Central Asia. They were a Turkic-speaking nomadic group that emerged from the Turkic tribes of the steppes in what is now modern-day Kazakhstan and parts of Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan
