This brought back memories! I haven't been back since February 2011 (not that I am counting). As you walked out of Terminal 2 I could immediately feel the sudden change in heat, the humidity and the smell of the air.

It will not say Filipina just because you’re a female. It’s the same as American. It will not say Americano/Americana. The only difference is Filipino ends with a vowel which can easily be confused as a gender sensitive noun. So he is right to to say Filipino girlfriend.
Its best to download the Grab app upon arrival and book a grab car. Thery're more reliable than taxis and the Grab app (=Uber for Southeast Asia) is used everywhere in Southeast Asia. Cannot recommend this point highly enough. I'm A British Filipino expat who moved to the Philippines last year. Ask where the grab desk is upon arrival and they'll help you there. There should be someone from the company to help tourists book a grab from there.

I noticed a lot of passengers had carry-on luggage. I read online that the carry on luggage had to weigh under 7 kilos. I am thinking their carry on luggage was probably more than 7k...do they allow you to bring it onboard? I read online it is a hefty fee if it is overweight...

Wonder what that groaning was at 01:22 😮 I never get tired of the sight of BGC, driving there was always so much easier than the rest of the city. On my last trip it was pretty easy landing from Vancouver too, full vaccination and documents at the ready made it a breeze to get through!

That starts with passport control until you leave the airport and even then you are not safe from scammers, thieves, etc. everything in the airport and around it is a playground for thieves . , and that goes for tourists who come in as well as for those who leave .

They all have only one goal and that is to rob you. They will pull out all the tricks of the circus. I don't think there are many honest people working at that airport. In any case, I've never come across one and I travel quite a lot.
Worst airport procedures ever for international connecting flights! They collected all passengers passports and had us open our checked bagages for inspection. The way they gave us back our passports was the way a teacher passes out test scores by calling out names 🙄 We had to go thru security check twice. When we got to our gate, we had to go thru security check again. Oh, and if you leave your designated gate area, you have to go thru security again; every single time. Staffs are not friendly at all.

PAL uses terminal 2 exclusively, although other airlines also use it. terminal 1 is used by other international airlines. terminal 3 is for domestic and other international airlines.
How do you prove or not prove that you been vaccinated from United states? I know you fil out the green code but how they know , if I cant remember the exact date I was vaccinated. Do they ask for a card. Because I dont have a card
I hope the experience at NMIA will not be anything like this. Plenty of space at NMIA to effectively handle significant passenger traffic. NMIA should be able to handle additional direct flights going as far as Atlanta with an Airbus A350.
this is a little out dated, i travelled in November of 23 and wasn't even asked about my QR code, the government of the Philippines also wants you to register for a QR code before departure which was not required.. The travel requirements seem to change by the week.
I have done both Clark, Pampanga, and NAIA. I always prefer Clark. No wait, really friendly staff, just a better experience. But if you have to fly into NAIA, Manila, well, it's ok, job gets done, but they are less friendly. However they are honey bunnies compared to the animals in TSA in US.
Philippines needs to drop all covid mandate requirements like the rest of the world. It's a proven fact the vax doesn't stop transmission or prevent infection.
That's not the point of ANY vaccine. vaccines are only meant to activate/stimulate/train the immune system to be able to recognize and fight a real infection so that recovery from them happens much better than if you never had a vaccine. I think you need to educate yourself what vaccines are.

I've flown into Manila from San Francisco twice within the past year, once to T2, and the last time to T1. Both times needed to transfer to Tacloban. First time took PAL to TAC so didn't need to exit the terminal. But 2nd time took Cebu Pacific in T3, which means taking a shuttle bus that takes you OUTSIDE the airport to get to T3. Are you kidding me? This has to be the worst setup in the world. Can't wait (20+ years?!) for then new airport to be built at Bulacan.
The Philippines customs is way faster than the US. I went through customs fast in Manila, but in the US it took at least an hour of standing in a line (even though I’m a US citizen). Please US airport come up with something better than what we do have.

I believe uploading proof of vaccination is one of the steps required to obtain a QR code
They only ask what vax you have when filling out the e travel. Doesn’t ask to upload the vax card.
