    Thank you everyone for the support, it's really appreciated. 🍻
    I have one clarification concerning my comments about the off center sticks issue when Deadzones are set to zero. When I said I hope this is fixed in the firmware update, I meant I hope razor adds a way for users to recalibrate the sticks themselves. I think that would fix the issue.
    Also the tournament wired edition has been added to Amazon, so I added an Amazon link (affiliate link) in the description.

    In my experience the stick offsets when the deadzone is set to zero is to be expected with any controller. If a controller has a "true" zero deadzone setting then any minor defects in the stick and spring will become apparent as they prevent the stick from going exactly 100% back to true center each time. The numbers will be different each time you let go of the sticks as they're physically resting in a different positions every time - this is why deadzones were created. Any controller that shows perfect 0's when the deadzone is set to zero is lying to you and is still using a small deadzone. Also worth mentioning is that most games have their own deadzones in addition to the hardware deadzone, so in practice you can set it to zero on the controller and games will not be affected by the imperfections in the sticks/springs, unless you also reduce the game deadzone setting all the way to zero as well. Ideally you just find the lowest settings that don't drift for each game.

    • @technicallyreal
      @technicallyreal 4 місяці тому +1

      I just noticed the "Prevent double deadzones" setting - would be really interesting to see how disabling that affects the results with deadzone set to zero.

    Thanks for the in-depth review, watched the whole thing! The only dealbreaker for me is the 'stubbiness' of the controller. Like, why is Razer so hellbent on this specific design? This is like the 4th or 5th iteration of the Wolverine and the shape is still awkwardly small/ stubby. They've recreated their Deathadder/ Viper shape, but man this shape is just a dealbreaker. Anyways, fantastic review! The quality of the video was amazing, keep it up man.

    For 2024, I'd lean towards the *Xbox Elite Series 2**. Its level of customization, adjustable-tension thumbsticks, and overall build quality make it a top choice, especially for gamers who value precision and comfort. The **Razer Wolverine V3 Pro* is solid too, particularly with its responsive Mecha-Tactile buttons, but the Elite Series 2 just feels more versatile across different gaming scenarios. Ultimately, it depends on your preferences-whether you're after modular features or tactile feedback. What's your pick?

    • @chronicmayhem
      @chronicmayhem  4 місяці тому

      @@kycalo I have had a elite series 2 for several years and it is the more comfortable controller to use. However, I like the buttons and the triggers better off the Wolverine. Seems like a lot games I play ignore the controller deadzone set in the app for example: God Of War, No Man’s Sky, and Elden Ring. Not that I need a low DZ for those games but it’s kind of strange. I guess they only allow the built in game deadzone? Who knows

    • @chronicmayhem
      @chronicmayhem  29 днів тому

      I would think of In-game Deadzone settings to happen on top of the controller software set Deadzones. For example If I set the Deadzone to 3 in the razer software and then set a Deadzone in game of 2, the actual Deadzone would be 5. What I do is set my Deadzone in the controller software and sent it to zero in all my games so it's consistent everywhere.

    • @RagingBuddhist281
      @RagingBuddhist281 28 днів тому

      @ The games that allow me to set deadzones in seem to follow what the controllers DZ to a degree like you mentioned coming out to 5. The games like I listed don’t have any way to change it in game, and they seem to follow whatever the default in-game DZ is. It’s really neat that Razer added these settings with the V3 but they do kind of seem pointless if certain games ignore the controller DZ and games that allow that adjustment in game I can set there anyways. Don’t get me wrong this is the best controller I’ve used in a long time it’s just this one thing that bothers me.

    Have you saved the results of any other controllers tested on the Circularity Error Test? I'm pretty much making a decision on this controller if it's bad against the average. I have the Envision controller from Scuf (8% - 9%) and before that I got the Instinct Pro (11.5% - 13%). Loved the stick precision on those but I really hate the placement of the paddles, the M buttons next to the bumpers are really great. And with the Wolverines V2 and V1 I got 11% to 19% (respectively)
    Also, it might be worth mentioning that Razer never fixed for the V1 and V2 an issue that surprisingly happens more often than it seems: When you press 2 or more M buttons in a slight amount of time the controller software wrongly recognizes the pressing of a random M button and maintains it pressed until you find out which button is still pressed it and you have to press it again so the software "unpresses" it. Here is YT vid that shows what I mean:

And since you have the option to switch back to analog triggers, it should work perfectly fine for racing games. What makes this controller better than those other two is that if you do want to play a first person shooter turning on the trigger stops you get the mouse, click triggers which the elite series 2 and the turtle Beach do not have. The elite series 2 and the turtle Beach instead use a piece of plastic that slides into place to just act like a trigger stop. And overall this controller has better build quality than those as well.

      @BedRockgood It's optional and completely not necessary. I mention it because some people get really anal about having zero dead zone on their controllers. But in reality no it's not necessary and some people may not even like it. On some controllers I don't like having zero dead zone because then the controller becomes very touchy if that makes any sense. This being a hall effect controller you should not need to worry about stick drift really at all theoretically. The chance of getting stick drift on a hall effect joystick versus a traditional joystick is far far far lower. That's the advantage of this technology.

      @@chronicmayhem I have the Vader 4 pro arriving by Wednesday to test side by side. Just got the wired razer v3 delivered today. But you might be right, I think Razer curved the controller too drastically where the middle fingers rest. If the grips were more straight and slightly longer, it could've been perfect. I like so much about it though, I'm going to keep trying to find a comfortable way to use it with extensive testing in high octane space marine 2 lol.

    In terms of back buttons, do you prefer wolverine over flydigi apex 4? I'm thinking about these 2, and I'm a little bit more into apex4 but not sure about these 4 back buttons.

    • @chronicmayhem
      @chronicmayhem  4 місяці тому +2

      @@DanyKochany I Prefer the "side by side" style of the Flydigi and Scuf envision controllers vs the "stacked" style of the wolverine, Elite series 2 etec. That's because like I mentioned I like to only use my middle finger to cover all four buttons and when the back paddles are next to each other instead of stacked that's a little bit easier. But sometimes I can still make the stacked ones work like on the Elite series 2 or my aim controller if they're close enough to each other.
      Watch my review on the Apex 4, I think it's great for casual and story games, but if you're a competitive multiplayer kind of person, I would steer towards the Vader 4 Pro instead.

      @@chronicmayhem Thanks for answering! Well I have AimController PS5 dualsense and everything is fantastic but.... these back buttons/paddles on AimController is made of plastic and it's soft/elastic/not so responsive and it's a little bit frustrating because sometimes it making my gameplay slower ;)- that why I'm thinking of mouse clicks back buttons controller.

      i have a vader 4 pro on the way. but features wise i would choose the vader 4 pro. the vader is more like a normal xbox controller shape, 1k hz wireless and i like the back buttons better on the flydigi controllers. and you can adjust stick tension on the vader 4 pro. The wolverine probably has better build quality however (based on the vader 3 pro I have)

    I own a Flydigi Vader 3 because I really wanted to try a tactile d-pad but I was ALWAYS getting accidental up inputs whenever I'd be playing a fighting game, which is specifically what I want a more precise d-pad for. Does the Wolverine V3's d-pad have any similar issues when trying to press diagonals or quarter circle motions?
