    Someone who appeals to your emotions & talks about legacy, mindset, black power and financial freedom as their pitch for investing in whatever they have going on is a red flag and instantly turn them down. He didn't have anything any serious investor would have, no thorough plan, no numbers, KPIs, Metrics, team, timelines, structure, track record etc... Another thing, if they're chasing those who have little to nothing to give that's another red flag. If you have a serious business proposition, you're looking for experienced investors, accredited investors etc... 10 million or however much he raised is change, if it was real he could get that from a handful of investors but he knew he'd never make it into those rooms and if he did, he'd be laughed out within the first 30 seconds. That's why they target us because we think with emotion and not logic, reason and seriousness. So they can talk all that King and Queen nonsense and we're sold lol

      Most ppl in general are emotional spenders. That's the reason we buy stuff we don't need in excess. Years ago marketers started using psychology to appeal to ppl's emotions to make sales. There was a documentary on it, I think its called "century of self"

    • @11bornrich
      @11bornrich 7 місяців тому

      @@kgkg4118 You're absolutely right, but it's crucial to differentiate between spending and investing. Investing is about risk vs reward, risk management, and having a clear exit plan if it goes right or wrong. The way to give yourself the best chance is through thorough due diligence. Once you hear/think investing, the mindset of spending should go out of the window.
      These guys clearly lack an understanding of investing, and Jay knew it & capitalized on that. He knew they were desperate, knowing that the easiest thing to sell to desperate people is hope. Like many of these so-called "gurus," he exploited people seeking hope for his own come up.

But we still got 15,000 ppl giving 500$-40k each for this ded in the water idea this looney MF pitched. As long as ppl still think that in today's technology and today's world, there is still a place for them to have a city for all people of 1 ethnicity, demonstrates how behind their thinking is surrounding technology. There is no place on earth at this point where one can buy or build any city for any reasonable amount where blk people will own and control it ALL. ITS A PIPE DREAM. Even if we could, it would turn into a ghetto the size of 10 states combined. This is not the discovery of the new world by the Natives. I'm just so amazed at why some blk folks be on this mess.

      He did his research while being in prison. Investor fraud is easy to get away with. Just get people to give you millions of dollars for a project you know wont work. Just pretend to make a attempt at the project. The whole time you are paying your self 100k a month in project management fees. Then make up a bunch of excuses to tell the investors on why the project is not working. Just to buy your self more time to continue to pay your self 100k a month on management fees. Now you are rich and the investors just lost all of their money and there is nothing they can do about it. You just legally scammed them.

He didn't have anything any serious investor would have, no thorough plan, no numbers, KPIs, Metrics, team, timelines, structure. Another thing, if they're chasing those who have little to nothing to give that's another red flag. If you have a serious business proposition, you're looking for experienced investors, accredited investors etc... 10-50 million or however much he raised is change, if it was real he could get that from a handful of investors but he knew he'd never make it into those rooms and if he did, he'd be laughed out within the first 30 seconds. As Mr. Gordon said in your interview, "everything in the dark will come to light" This is so disturbing, as many people of color seriously need this kind of information to improve themselves with Financial Literacy and Real Estate investments to create family legacies. This project could have been a Very viable avenue towards those two goals for the people of color. This Morrison character and his wife need to face immediate jail time and they must refund all the investors. If you cannot trust your own people of color, WHO can you trust. We have heard so many unfortunate stories such as this; so many crooks who call themselves "pastors" that run away with people's hard earned money. The excuses of theft need to stop. What kind of business person is driving such expensive clothing, jewelry, cars, buying land with hidden companies during the real estate boom period and touts that "he lost money"? Thus, those who are honest and do try to create such a program will be looked at twice. Hope all the investors recoup their monetary investments and not give up their dream.

I agree with this perspective, versus Gordon which is more emotional and has zero evidence to back up his claims, just complaining mostly.
