Nice touch with the micro drill to clean the main jet. Too many DIYers only use a wire or the carb cleaner and never get the jet back to the original size thus the hunting. If they still hunt we normally open the main by 0.002" from the original size and that does the trick. See you Sunday the OLD MAN over and out.

I really like what you said about taking a carburetor apart until you get it right. A lot of UA-cam videos the people doing the repairs are really quick to buy another carburetor. I'm not foolish I do know there is sometimes no other choice but to buy a new carburetor. In the last 12 years I can count on one hand the carburetor that I had to replace and could not fix the original one. Most of them the bushings that the hold the carburetor blade are worn out. I also had one carburetor that was cracked. My friend got mad took a hammer and hit the carburetor. Somebody had told him that the float was probably stuck and a hit the carburetor and it might free it up. He got mad after doing this a couple times and gave it one good smack and that was the end of that carburetor.
I really enjoy watching your channel. I'm in the states so a lot of the brand of equipment is different than what we have here. Of course engine are pretty much universal.

Another great fix. I noticed your Versitray looks out of shape. Are the chemicals you use to clean the carbs warping it?.
No it's just because it's been sitting on something
Mine just did this and I "fixed" it by letting it run in choke for a while, blipping the throttle down by the carb and spraying some carb cleaner while it was running. Then when it would stay running when I took it out of choke and let it run 10 minutes more and it seemed to have gotten out the water or crude that was causing it no to get enough fuel to run.

I have issue where mower only works on full choke, carburettor cleaned with no blockages and fuel filling bowl. Still no joy (changed oil and plug plus fresh petrol anyway) before I buy a new carb, should my air filter box be sealed as mine is just plastic on plastic
Sounds like a carburetor problem to me.. did you file out the main jet?

It will.. it's not meant to run on choke..
Have a Craftsman 17.5 hp. Changed the carb. Now surges. If I set the throttle a little over the run position it stops surging. What is the Fix. Louisiana
