Bro that fan mod was actually commendable, been using this model for more than 6 years now and working great. I found the satellite speakers to be a bit overly loud in mi-range sound. So what I did was filled all the satellites insides with dampening foam and covered the ports. Now I find the sound to be less echoey.
If you use this amplifier on medium to low volumes, then fan is not needed, but I keep mine at full volume and control volume from computer so this increases heating a bit. Yes sometimes mid range can be over powering depending on what you are listening to but I like it, because at higher volumes trebels and bass is pretty loud so you need strong mids too to keep up the balance.
Sound quality is really good on this amplifier, but obviously we can't compare to high end sets.. I can even buy some av receiver and set of pioneer speakers but they take up some space and my neighbors won't like them lol.
Yamaha ain't much good, speakers provided with it sound bad, and the amplifier itself is oversensitive to voltage fluctuations, to fix it service center charges 15k! Sony is far better in servicing. Pioneer and denon are good but their service is non existent here.

Demo unit will have a fee scratches and its condition must be thoroughly checked before buying so as to avoid any defects which may arise in future. In my opinion you should ask for 5-10k discount at least.
I doubt if you'll find working amplifier because it is the first component that dies in a sound system. You can try searching on sites like OLX & EBay.
Few questions on optical connectivity. Does it support full 5.1 channel proper from pc? Does realtek helps to manage speak volumes just like it helps for analogue output? Does optical support full 5.1 on tata sky?
Optical TOSLINK cable itself supports only 2 channels uncompressed, so either through computer or set top box you'll get 2 channel audio signal which will be interpreted by the amplifier and it will give audio through 5.1 channel speakers. Even through RCA cables you get 2 channel input on this amplifier, but home theater itself provides sound effects by decoding Dolby codec.

Sorry aaj koi bhi 5.1 home theater nahi milte sirf sound bars hi milre hai market mein. But aap alag se av receiver and speaker system le sakte ho, unki sound aur achi hoti hai. Under 10k, because aapko nahi pata uski condition, agar fan hai toh thoda zyaada de sakte ho. Kholke capacitors check kar lena kahi swelling na ho unmein, agar capacitors leak ho ya swell kare he ho toh mat lena.

BDV E3200 is also an excellent home theater system. Its sound is similar to DAV DZ350. It is not possible to make a video on the models you are talking about, because they have been discontinued now.

Very informative content! I am about to buy HT iv 300 because of its connectivity options and fan presence. Since there is no new stock available anywhere, I had to look for used models. 350s i have seen but people have used it for 3 to 6 years without fans. Hence its life if not repaired will already be running low. Hence I had to choose iv 300 despite knowing that its low volume bass and absence of tweeters are a bit dissapointing. I am planning to attach after market tweeters on the front 3 speakers. Cant do much about the bass. I think I have live with it or replace it with an active subwoofer in future if required. What are your thoughts on this?
Actually companies have discontinued all mid range home theaters maybe due to low demand or some strategic planning. Sound bars are being sold at exorbitantly high prices which blows my mind! Try to look for a DZ 350 which is in good condition and not very old. In my case I installed cooling fans in this video: ua-cam.com/video/JUWWHEJnfRE/v-deo.html Sound quality is not that good in IV 300, because of lack of tweeters and a weak subwoofer, so I wouldn't recommend it. For medium sound levels it is decent though. In case you want to buy a new home theater for peace of mind, you can save your money for now and wait till you can buy some decent AV receiver with floor standing pioneer speakers or something, I know it will cost like 50-60k but sound quality of that will be unmatched to any other set and it will be more reliable too.

I have old sony cmt vp100 speakers and kenwood 6 inch open baffle speakers which I wanted to attach to an AV reciever but the reciever of choise is quite expensive and I dont want to spend much now. I thought of giving this a try and if its not satisfactory, ill research and go for a full fledge av reciever. I am not a fan of sound bars. I want sony 7200 but its not for sale any more sadly.

Amplifier is a basic sound amplifier, which produces sound for your speakers. All the computer speakers fall into this amplifier setup category (though amplifier is built into speakers) and usually they don't have multiple inputs and support stereo channels, some can be 5.1 as well. Now coming to AVR which means audio video receiver, it is like an amplifier on steroids, meaning that it has multiple inputs and outputs, multiple channels of upto 9.2 which is a lot! AVR is far superior due to connectivity options. For ultimate home entertainment, AVR is best and it is also commonly known as receiver for simplicity. Coming to most of the HTiB (home theater in a box) setups, these are cost effective alternatives, which offer multiple channels and better connectivity options. These often have disc player built in as well.

Well it is definitely not an AVR, it can be called amplifier with built in DVD player. This system is pretty loud, and it should be enough for your room but don't expect AVR like erformance because their speakers are huge and sound fuller than this HTiB. Regarding inputs you can only play music from one device at a time, so you'll have to switch inputs using the remote. This supports Dolby decoding, so if you play movie DVDs it will give amazing sound in full effect. You can connect optical cable and RCA cables for inputs as well. AVR will obviously give better performance but it will cost twice or thrice what this costs. It depends what you need. No problems!
Hmm, that can't be done without cutting and splicing original Sony cables that come with speakers. Also it is pretty easy to do, so making a video on it is not really needed in my opinion.

DZ350 has much better sound than IV300, I have heard both in real life. IV300 lacks sharpness in sound due to not having tweeters, while DZ350 has tweeters in front two channels which provide crystal clear highs. Amplifier is more heavily built in DZ350 but obviously it doesn't have a cooling fan which IV300 has (I just installed Sunon fans for that, video will come this Saturday) and also has a DVD player.
@@M-DIY exacyly. DZ350 is more musical and has more punchy bass than iv300. I had this system and it was a very good companion, served years, now sold out. Now using iv300. Chose iv300 because it has 2 hdmi-in for set top box and console and has dolby truehd+dts hdma decoding. DTS decoding is not available in dz350. IV300 support all the advance high quality codecs (minus atmos+dts:x). DZ350 has no competition in this price bracket when it comes to listening music. But watching movies in DTS-HDMA on iv300 is just unparallel to anything under its price range. DTS has better sound quality than dolby, my perception. What is your thought!!

@@M-DIY companies are pushing soundbars in the market. While soundbar is o.k. for general user, little concious users and audiophiles never get settled with these shitty bars. There is basically not much real surround or immersive audio found in soundbars. But day by day companies are making 5.1 dolby/dts systems out, from the reach of common user's. Going for dz350 was a good move.
@prashant prem All major companies like Sony, Samsung, LG and Panasonic have discontinued selling 5.1 home theater systems suddenly. Obviously they have cartels formed and knew well in advance about the global situation. Coming to soundbards, these companies are deliberately pushing them along with the shops because when I went to buy this theater, all shops were telling that soundbars are amazing and all that marketing nonsense. I never waste time in arguing, I just said I want this particular model, if you have it then tell otherwise I don't need something else. Demand for these 5.1 home theaters have decreased a lot in reality, a lot of people are not able to afford own houses and live on rent, while spending maximum time on their jobs with little time for leisure, so obviously they will prefer some portable earphones or headphones rather than these sound systems. Best sound is produced by AV receiver systems and larger speakers which you can buy separately (like pioneer 5.1 speakers which come without amplifier) but they cost beyond 60k, and not to mention that they take and need a lot of space to produce good sound. In smaller apartments they will not sound good. Due to this there is not much deamand for them and after sales service is non existent for Onkyo, Denon and Pioneer AV receivers, Yamaha service is too pathetic as they are no better than Sony service centers, which hand you estimates of 10-15k and above for every minor thing. Coming to HTiB systems, these offer excellent sound quality for the price like 20-30k have decent connectivity options and filled the gap between computer speakers and expensive sound systems. But these are now discountinued and you won't even find decent computer speakers nowadays. I have seen computer speakers which offer under 100 watts RMS being sold for 10-12K!!! Logitech speakers sound good, but they barely last a few years and there is not after sales service for them too, just like all other computer speakers. After researching a lot, I chose this sound system because it offered amazing sound with good loudness and negligible distortion even at full volume as I listen to a variety of music from orchestral, instrumental, EDM to heavy metal and rock (I don't listen to Hindi songs though). Sometimes I like watching movies as well, not to mention I mostly use this for editing UA-cam videos now, and only on weekends I take out time for entertainment. While buying on Amazon this was the last piece available and this model was nowhere to be found as I searched quite a few malls and shops. I did enjoy searching for this because I always snacked in some fast food outlet in malls 🤗 as I usually don't travel without a reason. I knew in advance about deliberate design flaws of this model so I installed cooling fans as amplifier would get too hot; so hot that you couldn't even put your hand on its cabinet! Later on I installed Sunon Maglev fans which were much better than Maku fans I initially bought. Video on this will comtoday morning. Good thing is that now I can repair electronic stuff myself. Earlier when I was in my middle school, I hadn't used a surge protector or a voltage stabilizer for my older Sony home theater, that's why I had to discard after it got damaged due to power surge from an old CRT TV set that was badly repaired by a technician.

Optical cable is equipped to transfer dolby digital 5.1 channel input/output through 1 cable. RCA will require 6 cable or 3 pairs of left-right for that and only PCM.

Bro Bdv e3200 is not available on cloudtail or appario, other seller has very poor rating. You can search in some shop, but make sure it is not a demo unit. It is really hard to find these kinds of sound systems. For under 50k, these sound really amazing.

Bdv e3200 and dav dz350 have same power output in wattage. Subwoofer of dz 350 is better though as it weighs more, regarding amplifier, dz350 doesn't have a cooling fan, while e3200 has one, it also has ethernet jack for internet connectivity. Both have same usb video format capabilities. I really doubt you'll find these kinds of home theaters in any nearby shop nowadays, but still good luck! In case you don't, save up money for av receiver and speaker set, they are better in sound quality and loudness.

Well, if I were to upgrade to some discrete home theater speaker setup with AV receiver, I would, but at the time I don't require anything more powerful than this, so in short no, not at the moment.

Bass is amazing, but for me sharp treble is equally important, that's what makes EDM music give chills! Sony has produced amazing sound systems like these but sadly, now only sound bars occupy markets.
IV300 aata hai is range mein. Baaki aise zyaada models nahi aate aur agar koi theek home theater lena hai toh 60k kharch karne padenge (AVR alag aur speakers alag leke, links mein diya hai).
I have seen below 100w rms computer speakers being sold for like 12,000 rupees which is insane! Instead save money and buy a decent home theater (as long as you can find one).
Jaisa video mein maine bataya, maine home theater ko computer ki optical output se connect kara hai, toh pendrive, DVD, bluray ya ethernet connectivity kaam nahi aate mere. Sound quality mein dono models same hai.

Demo unit will have a fee scratches and its condition must be thoroughly checked before buying so as to avoid any defects which may arise in future. In my opinion you should ask for 5-10k discount at least.

If you want to play audio through this theater system then you'll need to connect this via optical TOSLINK cable or RCA cables.
Few questions on optical connectivity. Does it support full 5.1 channel proper from pc? Does realtek helps to manage speak volumes just like it helps for analogue output? Does optical support full 5.1 on tata sky?
Optical TOSLINK cable itself supports only 2 channels uncompressed, so either through computer or set top box you'll get 2 channel audio signal which will be interpreted by the amplifier and it will give audio through 5.1 channel speakers. Even through RCA cables you get 2 channel input on this amplifier, but home theater itself provides sound effects by decoding Dolby codec.
Optical supports 5.1 compressed.
It can play through 5.1 through PC Laptop all you need sound card and settings.

BDV E3200 is also an excellent home theater system. Its sound is similar to DAV DZ350. It is not possible to make a video on the models you are talking about, because they have been discontinued now.

I am about to buy HT iv 300 because of its connectivity options and fan presence.
Since there is no new stock available anywhere, I had to look for used models.
350s i have seen but people have used it for 3 to 6 years without fans. Hence its life if not repaired will already be running low. Hence I had to choose iv 300 despite knowing that its low volume bass and absence of tweeters are a bit dissapointing.
I am planning to attach after market tweeters on the front 3 speakers.
Cant do much about the bass. I think I have live with it or replace it with an active subwoofer in future if required.
What are your thoughts on this?
Actually companies have discontinued all mid range home theaters maybe due to low demand or some strategic planning. Sound bars are being sold at exorbitantly high prices which blows my mind! Sound quality is not that good in IV 300, because of lack of tweeters and a weak subwoofer, so I wouldn't recommend it. For medium sound levels it is decent though.
In case you want to buy a new home theater for peace of mind, you can save your money for now and wait till you can buy some decent AV receiver with floor standing pioneer speakers or something, I know it will cost like 50-60k but sound quality of that will be unmatched to any other set and it will be more reliable too.

I have old sony cmt vp100 speakers and kenwood 6 inch open baffle speakers which I wanted to attach to an AV reciever but the reciever of choise is quite expensive and I dont want to spend much now. I thought of giving this a try and if its not satisfactory, ill research and go for a full fledge av reciever. I am not a fan of sound bars. I want sony 7200 but its not for sale any more sadly.

What is the difference between Amplifier and AVR?
Amplifier is a basic sound amplifier, which produces sound for your speakers. All the computer speakers fall into this amplifier setup category (though amplifier is built into speakers) and usually they don't have multiple inputs and support stereo channels, some can be 5.1 as well.
Now coming to AVR which means audio video receiver, it is like an amplifier on steroids, meaning that it has multiple inputs and outputs, multiple channels of upto 9.2 which is a lot! AVR is far superior due to connectivity options. For ultimate home entertainment, AVR is best and it is also commonly known as receiver for simplicity.
Coming to most of the HTiB (home theater in a box) setups, these are cost effective alternatives, which offer multiple channels and better connectivity options. These often have disc player built in as well.

Well it is definitely not an AVR, it can be called amplifier with built in DVD player.
This system is pretty loud, and it should be enough for your room but don't expect AVR like erformance because their speakers are huge and sound fuller than this HTiB. Regarding inputs you can only play music from one device at a time, so you'll have to switch inputs using the remote.
This supports Dolby decoding, so if you play movie DVDs it will give amazing sound in full effect. You can connect optical cable and RCA cables for inputs as well.
AVR will obviously give better performance but it will cost twice or thrice what this costs. It depends what you need.

DZ350 has much better sound than IV300, I have heard both in real life. IV300 lacks sharpness in sound due to not having tweeters, while DZ350 has tweeters in front two channels which provide crystal clear highs. Amplifier is more heavily built in DZ350 but obviously it doesn't have a cooling fan which IV300 has (I just installed Sunon fans for that, video will come this Saturday) and also has a DVD player.
@@M-DIY exacyly. DZ350 is more musical and has more punchy bass than iv300. I had this system and it was a very good companion, served years, now sold out.
Now using iv300. Chose iv300 because it has 2 hdmi-in for set top box and console and has dolby truehd+dts hdma decoding. DTS decoding is not available in dz350. IV300 support all the advance high quality codecs (minus atmos+dts:x).
DZ350 has no competition in this price bracket when it comes to listening music. But watching movies in DTS-HDMA on iv300 is just unparallel to anything under its price range.
DTS has better sound quality than dolby, my perception.

@@prashantprem1 yes regarding connectivity this HTiB is too basic! Bass is much better in DZ350 mo doubt. My next sound system will probably be based on av receiver with separate speaker set. They offer much better sound but cost a lot! Unfortunately home theaters like these are no longer sold.
@@M-DIY companies are pushing soundbars in the market. While soundbar is o.k. for general user, little concious users and audiophiles never get settled with these shitty bars. There is basically not much real surround or immersive audio found in soundbars. But day by day companies are making 5.1 dolby/dts systems out, from the reach of common user's.

All major companies like Sony, Samsung, LG and Panasonic have discontinued selling 5.1 home theater systems suddenly. Obviously they have cartels formed and knew well in advance about the global situation.
Coming to soundbards, these companies are deliberately pushing them along with the shops because when I went to buy this theater, all shops were telling that soundbars are amazing and all that marketing nonsense. I never waste time in arguing, I just said I want this particular model, if you have it then tell otherwise I don't need something else.
Demand for these 5.1 home theaters have decreased a lot in reality, a lot of people are not able to afford own houses and live on rent, while spending maximum time on their jobs with little time for leisure, so obviously they will prefer some portable earphones or headphones rather than these sound systems.
Best sound is produced by AV receiver systems and larger speakers which you can buy separately (like pioneer 5.1 speakers which come without amplifier) but they cost beyond 60k, and not to mention that they take and need a lot of space to produce good sound. In smaller apartments they will not sound good. Due to this there is not much deamand for them and after sales service is non existent for Onkyo, Denon and Pioneer AV receivers, Yamaha service is too pathetic as they are no better than Sony service centers, which hand you estimates of 10-15k and above for every minor thing.
Coming to HTiB systems, these offer excellent sound quality for the price like 20-30k have decent connectivity options and filled the gap between computer speakers and expensive sound systems. But these are now discountinued and you won't even find decent computer speakers nowadays. I have seen computer speakers which offer under 100 watts RMS being sold for 10-12K!!! Logitech speakers sound good, but they barely last a few years and there is not after sales service for them too, just like all other computer speakers.
After researching a lot, I chose this sound system because it offered amazing sound with good loudness and negligible distortion even at full volume as I listen to a variety of music from orchestral, instrumental, EDM to heavy metal and rock (I don't listen to Hindi songs though). Sometimes I like watching movies as well, not to mention I mostly use this for editing UA-cam videos now, and only on weekends I take out time for entertainment.
While buying on Amazon this was the last piece available and this model was nowhere to be found as I searched quite a few malls and shops. I did enjoy searching for this because I always snacked in some fast food outlet in malls 🤗 as I usually don't travel without a reason.
I knew in advance about deliberate design flaws of this model so I installed cooling fans as amplifier would get too hot; so hot that you couldn't even put your hand on its cabinet! Later on I installed Sunon Maglev fans which were much better than Maku fans I initially bought. Video on this will comtoday morning.
Good thing is that now I can repair electronic stuff myself. Earlier when I was in my middle school, I hadn't used a surge protector or a voltage stabilizer for my older Sony home theater, that's why I had to discard after it got damaged due to power surge from an old CRT TV set that was badly repaired by a technician.

There will be slight difference in quality. Optical cable is best no doubt, but if you use a good quality RCA cable, you shouldn't notice it much.
Optical cable is equipped to transfer dolby digital 5.1 channel input/output through 1 cable. RCA will require 6 cable or 3 pairs of left-right for that and only PCM.

I bought this almost 8-10 months ago, this was last piece for this model available on Amazon at that time. Unfortunately Sony and other big brands like Samsung, LG, Panasonic have discontinued almost all their 5.1 home theater systems except soundbars which sound awful! You can try to find some other models I have given links for. Otherwise you will have to spend 60-70k on an AV receiver and speaker set from Pioneer or Taga, they sound really well.

Bro Bdv e3200 is not available on cloudtail or appario, other seller has very poor rating. You can search in some shop, but make sure it is not a demo unit. It is really hard to find these kinds of sound systems. For under 50k, these sound really amazing.

Bdv e3200 and dav dz350 have same power output in wattage. Subwoofer of dz 350 is better though as it weighs more, regarding amplifier, dz350 doesn't have a cooling fan, while e3200 has one, it also has ethernet jack for internet connectivity. Both have same usb video format capabilities. I really doubt you'll find these kinds of home theaters in any nearby shop nowadays, but still good luck! In case you don't, save up money for av receiver and speaker set, they are better in sound quality and loudness.
