I want to buy a home theater .. & i tested Sony IV 300 with Yamaha YHT 1840 side by side, In Default Yamaha Sound is far far better than Sony, by its balance output & clarity low to high. But I found a major Problem with Yamaha , It's suddenly Shot-Down messaging some cable issue problem. So , I very much confused. Please Guide Me ..... how the Dolby Surround effect working in this Sony IV 300 model, (as its is easy available & service) Can I Reduce bass effect for clear audio & distortion free experience in high volume. You can buy 120 watts tweeters from amazon and add it to the front right and left also surround speakers each in paralell. It will give you much clear details than before. You can reduce the subwoofer decibles to -6 in the settings to minimize it. And place it in a part of the room which will reduce the bass effect

Just to add my review on Sony IV 300, I bought this one 3 years back. For movies this sound system is good. But if you want to listen the music/songs then this is below average because it eliminates the sweetness of sound. So when you listen any song on this device even that is your favorite but you will feel that sweetness is missing. This is because its THD (Total Harmonic Distortion) is too much (as per current specs 1% but I remember when I bought this then it was 3% in 2015). Please check the specs. Ma'am, I would suggest to cover technical details as well just like you do in your TV reviews. Specially Noise related things. How that system handles mid frequencies. Thanks. I have recently ordered JBL SB450 sound bar. Lets see how it turns out to be. will update you as well.
Anuraag, you find sweetness missing, because the bass is too heavy and probably like me, you are not too fond of heavy bass! But, in most of the music systems in this range, you will find the same issue of bass overpowering the lyrics! Bose & JBL might give you the quality you are seeking!

Sony HT-IV300 has an AV receiver and not a blue ray player. It's upscaling is only upto 4k 24p for contents from USB and for contents from HDMI sources upscaling is only upto 2k resolution.
