- What you're hearing are the original samples used to create Jungle Groove from Donkey Kong Country, combined with the music instruction data from the game, plus mixing and mastering magic for a perfect recreation of what a studio recording would have sounded like.

Song composed by David Wise, restored by Jammin' Sam Miller
You can’t not love that piano bit at 1:03
I knoowwww
They actually change the instrument or don't include it at all in covers...
Kinda the best part
Rare had the best beats by far. Amazing music. David Wise was a composer at Rare from 1985 to 2009. "I was working in a music shop demonstrating a Yamaha CX5 Music Computer to a couple of people, Tim & Chris Stamper. I'd written and programmed the music for the demonstration material. They offered me a job." - David Wise. He is credited as the composer for this music.
A mastapiece'
David Wise is such a great composer. I love how this silly monkey game about getting your bananas back has this beautiful emotional music, and somehow it just works
Rare carried the N64 and the mid 90s for Nintendo. Nintendo had good games but Rare was banger after banger after banger sometimes even in the same year.
*pounds on chest and yells echoing throughout the whole jungle *
*Takes hat off and scratches head while looking at player*
*starts the journey by picking up the Diddy Kong barrel and throwing it*
*Seth Rogan laughing*
👍✌️
Actual monkeys:
*The hell is up with that guy*
Pleas restored mining melancholy 😍

Up
Hell yeah.
According to the dropbox link, there's already a FL Studio project for it. I'm guessing it just needs some extra work and a render.
Roberto Avila that one IS one of my favorites.
Remembering when I play this game from 6am until 6pm and finished all stage. Man!! So nostalgic 😌
I always liked to leave DK idle for a few seconds to let him do his yelling sound; it blended quite well with all the music from the game.
This nostalgia is delicious.
Sapphirechao fancy seeing u here. i Love your Chao videos
Look after Trash he's a good boy
Like BANANAS!?
Just like lemonade
Ooooo banana
Wow, it actually sounds far more similar to DKCR than I ever thought it was. Thanks for opening my eyes!
Also, 1:43. This section just makes me drool, it's _soooooooooo_ good... So *GOOD!*
Ethanotor Oculus don't nutt just yet
You're right. I'm only comfy doing that once squaks is a playable character.
@@ethanotoroculus1060
Best part of the song
@@smileydog5941 Oh, hey, the name linking system got fixed! I missed it!
Best part. Epic music on this game
Woah after 20 years, I can finally ears the birds in HD!
Technically it's Hi-fi, but yeah this indeed does sound great, as do all these remakes
I feel like I’m an Rare audio engineer finally getting to hear what the composer came up with for the jungle level of a new game they’re making called Donkey Kong Country. It’s really neat how you did this.
This sounds so wonderful. 1995 is so far away and at the same time so close to my ears. Thanks for this, because this brings me to my childhood and I just want to take an SNES controller and play some DKC just like if nothing else mattered in the world.
And these were 3 demo tracks put together. What a track.
Hats off to Jammin' Sam Miller!
He uploaded a new one an hour ago ;D
This is actually stolen from his cloud drive. You should probably go to his video.
Jammin’ Sam Miller’s restoration of this is incorrect. Half of the samples he used were the incorrect ones and it’s clearly audible. I’m surprised nobody notices it. This video is accurate and uses the correct samples. (or at least way more accurate ones than Jammin’ Sam Miller.)
Unless this was an old version of his restoration before he made a newer one, but if that’s the case he just fucked up the newer restoration.
I still want to know why they came up with this whole upbeat catchy theme that fits DKC like a glove and then it just becomes, like, a completely different song
Funny thing actually, it's 3 songs compressed into one
I was expecting vinesauces corruption 'buweeeeeeep'
monkehbitch You mean the moment when Cranky transforms into DK and poses with his arms upwards? That one killed me.
Eh, Flesh Kong inserting his flesh into Metal Kong while Diddy just stood there like WTF was real quality.
Followed by Vinny's bizarre laugh. Lol
SAME
Epic Boomshine oof that sounds wrong
My older brother who was my idol at the time (I was 5 he was a BIG 9 year old) told me that when he was going through this level, he saw a giant dinosaur walking in the background. I said:
"I wanna see the gigantic dinosaur too!!"
He replied: "Sure thing, just keep playing this level bro, you'll see it eventually...."
25 years later... still no dinosaur and my brother is still known for his love for trolling people in real life.
Some things never change.
David Wise is such a genius!
Grant Kirkhope maybe even more so lol
WOW, I've been looking for something like this for so long. Especially the notes for that echo thing at 4:17-4:20
this is easily the most iconic song in nintendo history. literally any instrument at any part is instantly recognizable as this song
Mario 1-1 objectively beats it in recognition, but it's still a great song
@@catsukisubaru3715 i guess ur right
@@masterboa6321 and i feel like the part used in kong jungle in mario kart 7 is the most iconic part of the song.
I was legit staring at the screen waiting for a giant gorilla riding a rhino to crash through the flat surface wall in the bottom right, Kool Aid Man style.
I guess my brain just decided that would be the perfectly normal sequence of events.
Well, to be fair.... it is.
That's what grimace would've wanted.
broooo
When i played donkey kong country for first time was amazing
nostalgia
As a country returns player it's amazing how they kept the exact same melody and just supercharged the audio and instruments for the next game really have that super nostalgia to all the original players
(Side note is it just me or do the trees all look like they have disturbing eyes looking at you)
I can never ever unsee it
The jungle see's all
Now that you’ve said that about the trees I’m never gonna unsee it
whyyyy
God damn why does this one track have more than one name lmao
Jungle hi-jinks, kongo jungle, ect
DK Island Swing.
Well, the composer originally made three different tracks for the first level of the game, and then the staff ended up liking everything and putting them all together in the same track.
Maybe that has something to do with it :P
For me, I feel this is honestly the greatest video game track of all time. The musicianship, the melody, the build, the vibes, and the craftsmanship. Its perfect. Dude did not have to go that hard for the first track of the game. So much structure.
1:13 the low horn/low brass echo is my absolute favorite part of this piece.
David wise is one of the few people that I would actually call a genius
He's also really humble and generous about revealing his inspirations. Most composers usually gatekeep the music they like... Even I do lol.
With this I can perfectly imagine him in some cozy gently lit recording studio on his computer making the soundtrack. This feels like the type of soundtrack a composer makes alone in a dark room for a month thinking only about music
He did say he made it in a music shop and even got to see iron maiden play live somehow
from start to end love it here in 2022
This sounds amazing!
Even tho I'm so tired of this song.....THIS VERSION IS THE BEST!
I can’t get over how meticulously this song was put together Every second of this track is important & leads seamlessly into the next portion. The first half is amazing and it leads perfectly into the more suspenseful second half. I love every second.
My favourite part is the first half. That baseline & melody is so good! And to think it comes from a game about Donkey Kong!?
Wise went above and beyond with this game. 30 years later and DK Country’s soundtrack is still iconic.
No sabes cuanto tiempo esperé este momento ♡
Restored to uncompressed glory in a totally compressed streaming media on youtube
pptruenoverdadero Eh. There’s still a link in the description to download from
UA-cam doesn't compress the audio as much anymore.
0:56 JUST MOTHERFUCKING PERFECTION
This should be made into a full blown concert
I don't think I was ever in one of these levels long enough to hear this whole song. Aweosome work!
That drum pattern is fuckin hard!! Never realized how genius this song is til i became an adult lol
This channel is gold
Legendary soundtrack 🙌
LOVE THIS. Thank you sooo much for the upload! I can't be the only one who sees eyes in those trees
Now I can't unsee the eyes thanks
@@umbra71 welcome to my world for the last 20 years!!

I feel that bass line deep in soul
I'd love to hear some DKC3 tracks, keep it up!

One of the best theme songs from one of the best video games.
1:31 the best memories made were spending this long in the level and finding the secret parts
Thank you! ke bien esta musica. so fn epic. a child gaming w/ my two younger brothers and our Pops to beat DK Country game... wow the early '90s
I just love just how much more full the sounds feel. Nice job!
I'd put this in my top 5 dkc trilogy songs for sure. Call it nostalgia but every time I run through that build up it just really gets me amped up and ready to move!
Wow... It sounds awesome with great sorround sound. Would love to hear more of this glory.
Like King K. Rools Galleon theme, Bramble Blast, Fear Factoy, Mine Melancholy, or the Boss theme of DKC2. Keep the work up!
Edit: Uuuh! Your channel has more, awesome!
Check Jammin' Sam Miller's channel for the complete restorations and other ones! 😊👍 I also really like the work he's still doing
Literalmente cada segundo es una OBRA MAESTRA.
thank you for doing this. this is amazing. we all appreciate this so much.
excellent job on these remasters, thanks for making them
Got to hear DKC2's Welcome to Crocodile Isle, Boss Bossanova and Crocodile Cacophony in HD!! Those songs go so hard!!
NOSTALGIA FLOWING! GOOD STUFF!!
Thank you so much for the uploads you are awesome!!!
Glorious. The only thing wrong I can find is that the Trombone at 1:12 doesn't seem like it goes high enough. In other rips of the track it goes a slight bit higher in pitch.
This isn't a "rip"
literally came to find this exact comment. It's amazing other than that one part
Wow! This is very good, I can't imagine how much work these took
When you return to monke
Thanks for bringing this to the world
you should thank jammin sam miller
This is really good. If you do more of these the peaceful underwater level music and the King K. Rool boss music are a must.
Listening on my new KEF home theatre package...amazing
Don’t forget the secret cave behind the exit sign!
I deeply thank you for your works, this is the music i grew up with and hearing it in all it's majesty fills me with nostalgia and good memories, good stuff 👍
This is awesome! Thank you very much. I will listen to them all
This and Gangplank Galleon are my favorite songs.
Imagine a BOTW-eske Donkey Kong Country game with this music featured in the initial announcement trailer as the Switch's final major 1st party game.
This is how it sounded to me as a kid.
Very well done.
This has countless versions and this version is still the best one tbh. It's just too good.
You're doing gods work
Scott Landis Jammin sam miller is doing gods work
@@JesusDaLawd yeah lmao
My nostalgia gland is going crazy.
Ayee. Listening to it with my Bose headphones. High quality.
The song is called, "Jungle Hijinx."
On another note (if you'll pardon the pun), the SNES version is actually quite impressive considering it was only 16 bit stereo.
Even though I wasn't born before 2006 I still have memories of these soundtracks from UA-cam when I was 3 years old
Keep it up. Love the nostalgia!
1:58 Wow this sounds so good
bro, i can _hear_ the layers in the music... this is incredible!
Rip snes music in spc format, and use a program called vgmtrans to extract a midi sequence and the samples from the spc file, then use openmpt to create a tracker (midi+samples in one file) and add better samples to it. And you have a recreated source file to edit or remix or whatever. :).
1:38 - there are two flute tracks played a few milliseconds apart from each other, but you can only hear one in the recording.
You rock, Terra, serious music-crush
When this played and dk hopped out you knew you were going to fuck shit up
LOOOOVE this series. really, thank you
Wow, here we go!
D.K the mighty Gorilla shoots out of his Treehouse, saves Diddy from the Barrell and go Hunt that big Giant Lizard!
Lets Go, DK Crew!
I bet you like the company Rare grunty
my favourite jazz piece ever lol seriously
Now that’s music
Awesome work! Thanks for all this incredible restorations!
Love your work! It's great hearing these tracks the way I remember them. What is that tom drum sample from? Never found anything else quite like it, always loved it. :D
You did a great work man, thanks!
Man this reminds me of my childhood days!
David Wise está a como 50 años adelantando a su época he hizo esta música épica una locura total y magia pura ❤
This is the music I was looking for so much, well done teera☺☺☺☺☺☺☺☺
I’m suddenly back at my Grandparents house and all of my cousins are there. We are all taking turns to try and beat the Crystal Cave. Our parents are calling us to dinner..... back in the good old days
Cool sounds like my childhood too! Those were the days!
Sweet Jesus I feel like a kid again when I first played this game and just put the controller down so I could listen to the music.
I'm gonna listen to this on my stereo and wake up the neighbors
Where it all started 😍
