2 years into the marriage, and Her husband died just 2 months ago, grief can last years, she is not in her right mind. Her bloated body and irritated skin are auto-immune disorders, triggered by the shock and grief. Not to be left alone very long, basic care as for a child, art supplies to express her emotions, TLC, to develop better coping methods. Grief can be fatal, she needs immediate intervention.@@iyonnakeith590

You guys; please remember to be respectful, as these people suffer with real illness and use these addictions as coping mechanisms. It makes them happy, and isnt hurting anyone most of the time, (other than seriously affecting those close to them with their addiction). In some cases these obsessions are no different than being severely addicted to drugs, and being without their coping source can leave them devastated.
You're absolutely right. Unfortunately, as proven by the comments already posted, lots of people don't have any empathy or understanding of how mental illness can manifest. The woman with the ashes, in particular, is in an extremely intense stage of grief and doesn't know how to cope. Humans are complex and we only know a fraction about how our brains work. If only more people had the empathy you do, it would be a much healthier and happier world.
@charlie_says3841 I 100% agree with you. I was repulsed at the lack of common sense some of these commentors have. Addiction and mental illness run VERY heavily in my family, and I myself suffer with both addiction and mental disorders that I have had to learn to cope with. Some people, as shown in the video, are actively stuck or trapped in a phase of denial, desperation, humiliation, or loneliness. I am 17, and I am NEVER going to be able to patch up what is broken from my childhood that made me like this, but I have been able to reach out and I am on the path to recovery. People need to open their eyes and put themselves in someone else's shoes. Sadly, most of the world is one-sided in thinking.

@SHIENDAYO I'm so sorry you've had so much trauma. If it's any comfort at all, you sound incredibly intelligent and insightful, especially for such a young age! If you've been affected by a family addiction with alcohol,you can attend al-anon. There's one for young people too, I can't remember the name but you should be able to find it on Google. Life can feel impossible sometimes, but please remember that you are worth getting help and I'm SO glad you're on that path-you matter, so keep going- one day at a time is all you need to focus on. ❤ take care xxx (ps ignore those who lack empathy, bullies are always the unhappiest people so don't pay them any attention)
As i am watching these addiction videos i think more and more we humans are weak specis the we can get addicted to something or getting depressive having trauma etc. it makes me sad…
In an update i saw awhile back, the car guy has moved onto another vehicle and if i remember correctly, he met someone who also has the same addiction.

VERY SICKENING!! I have my husbands ashes, and I have never opened the urn to look at them. I have no desire to touch them, to disrespect them. Not to mention, as they said (something I didn't know) there are chemicals involved that could RUIN her mental abilities, which are already on the boarder... OH MY....

@juliaingrassia8996 So judgemental and rude. If you lost your husband then you should understand the extreme grief that comes with it. People will respond in extreme ways. Respect and empathy are so rare these days, and people offer nothing but judgement and unwanted opinions and compare themselves to others. It's a shame and the reason why society is going downhill.

Casey needs serious psychological help. She doesn't know how to deal with her grief. That's a very sad situation. I truly hope she gets the help she needs some day.
There's even a name for it. It's called prolonged grief disorder.

I've been researching the life of Queen Kristina of Sweden and I believe her mother suffered from the same condition after her husband was killed in battle and that the PGD in her case was compounded by a combination of borderline personality disorder and bipolar disorder. She literally held onto him for almost two years after he died and she kept his literal heart with her for two more years after the burial and even though she eventually calmed down she still mourned him for the rest of her life. It was to the point that at the same time she was forced to give up the heart, Kristina was taken away from her.

The ashes one weirded me out. The ones of people dating inanimate objects don't weird me out as such. They seem genuinely connected to them like they're in a relationship.
