Haha, sitting next to a gigantic hobbit statue saying, "I'm not a big fan of the movies.", is awesome. This is why we love you man, you go hard, no matter what franchise of movie it is if you dig the piece.
I own the piece and I have to disagree with your comments about the guard. It looks like a mini person, the tones of gold and beautiful armor are out of this world. So many asked Weta to release the guard separately. I personally find the guard the best part of the statue :/. Thanks for the review! Keep lotr/ hobbit coming!
Man, this piece is truly so beautiful. I think you should've kept it because it's so different from everything else in your collection. Also, I used to think the same way you do about Star Wars vs LOTR but I came to love Middle Earth more because it's such a gorgeous world, both concept and story and the fact Disney doesn't own it. Anyhow, great review and I would love to see you do more LOTR and WETA statue reviews.
THIS is what I think of when I think "statue", a very elegant and artistic creation, definitely more along the lines of a classic statue compared to the glut of overly colorful and dynamic statues that pervade the hobby. The overall design and impact are super-impressive, a very beautiful and standout piece. Gotta say the closeup shots tell the story: the paint and very finely detailed sculpting on every single area of the statue are beyond stunning! Can't get my head around how they would have hand painted the leaves, tree and stairs, the armour on both Thranduil and the guard. Thanks for reviewing this Mr X, I've been interested in this statue and while I never would have the space to display this beast of a statue, it is great fun to check out the detailed review.
Yooooooooooo MR X wtf it’s a beast where u putting that big boy!! I would hav no room for that joint it’s crazy!!! Maybe the craziest one u showed yet!!
I love this statue, I saw it on spec fictions site & really fancy it but I didn't pull the trigger, Interesting bit of useless info is Lee Pace who plays Thranduil also plays Ronan the Accuser in Marvel films
Perfect balance of majestic and bad-ass in one package. Weta is really stepping up their game. I have their Superman on order. Really hoping we get more ZSJL Pieces from them
This piece looks amazing!!! I had to pass on this because I had to preorder the Weta Escape off the Road statue from Spec Fiction. Definitely looking forward to that statue. Great review!!!!
Wow! The whole ensemble is so big, it is enough to make any hobbit collectors Wet a. If I am not mistaken Thranduil is Legolas's father. I am not sure how the Elves choose their high archy but man this one was a good one. Sure he may come across as arrogant and selfish but that is because he only had the wellness of the Elves in heart. This throne piece is fantastic and well thought out. He's favorite animal to ride is a large dear with massive antlers so it would only make sense that his throne would include antlers. The paint job and design is incredible. My respect to the Weta company for attempting and pulling off such an amazing job. Congrats to whomever can afford and get this piece. Love the arrangement and artwork. Thank you for taking the time and effort to put it together to show it Mr. X. Take care and stay safe.
Their Lord of the Rings Statues are what put Weta on my radar. I'm a fan of the books and movies but I don't really collect the statues, but I do enjoy seeing them. Thanks for the review. Be Excellent
I got to see this up close I like this horns and the dude in the chait they could have just done that. there was also no forest around it I was impressed. I'll the top part of the statue with pretentious elf guy
Wow - way bigger than I imagined. Really awesome piece. My biggest issue with Weta is that their faces just don't compare to what other companies pull off. They're good but not great, and at the price point they ask, I think the faces could be better (speaking in general terms across their lines).
so pretty, i really liked thranduil in the books he's not so bad unlike in the films where he was portrayed as war hungry when he's actually more sensible and he does not hesitate to help during the battle and to the lake people, they were trying to prolong things obviously. Still, the statue looked so great, I don't really collect but I sure do like seeing them, and even if i wanted to my house is cramped.
This is unreal. Not the biggest LOTRs fan (loved the first three but not so much the Hobbit), but this is just incredible. Thanks for getting it on the table
Got it and I love it. The sculpture commands attention. To me its worth the price since I don't get tired of looking at this amazing sculpture. I will for sure hold this piece for a very very long time.
Interesting piece. Fantasy and LOTR is my wife's thing. Although she loves the elves, this thing is far too massive. Maybe just the throne and figure without the massive staircase.
This is the next level, from characters to depicting scenes and dioramas through a statue, more we need more from more movies,I would like a diorama like this for the dead man's chest climax rolling wheel fight
It's hard with smaller scale pieces to not look "toy like" so from a couple steps back, this looks absolutely incredible. The paint and sculpt from the base, stairs and throne are second to none. Would look amazing with other LOTR/Hobbit pieces.
Man I absolutely love this! But this would be a very difficult statue to display. Between that and the price (which I believe is fair given how awesome it is), I have to stay my hand. Grats to anyone who has it though. Absolutely breath taking.
Man that thing is massive (sadly That’s Not What She Said) 🤪 I definitely wouldn’t have room for this piece. I mostly collect Disney/Toy Story and have a few large Little Green Men figures but don’t think they are this big. I can’t wait for my new house to have more room.
That thing is huge! I love the details in the wood, tree, staircase, antlers and throne. Thanks for taking all the hours to unpack, assemble, disassemble and repack this piece in order for us to see! Due to space and finances I would never purchase this piece but loved the review.
They need to do the scene in FFXII when Fran returns home. That's what this reminds me of. The scene when the dwarfs escape the cell is a great read in the book, I would like to see what they do with that also.
It's deer antlers on a piece of driftwood.. buy the figures and go to a taxidermist yourself and have a piece with real elk antlers & driftwood for a fraction of the price.. I live in Northern Wisconsin and my uncle does taxidermy, he has several pieces in Gander Mountain here and is busy 24/7 doing pieces that turn out like this in a way.. he'll do entire scenes with peacocks and other animals all together, entire deer, a lion he did once, and has done some big pieces.. I guess I never really thought of mixing the two or mixing taxidermy with figures, but that's basically what they did here
My gosh this is such a big piece! Details are pretty spot on. I think the knot thing I’m not in love with are the portraits. I’m also getting action figure vibes from them. Overall a great piece.
Sorry MR X I haven't heard Of WETA. But I Must say that is a big amazing piece.its done so well but statues like this don't make IT too Australia details On This hardcore.
Haha, sitting next to a gigantic hobbit statue saying, "I'm not a big fan of the movies.", is awesome. This is why we love you man, you go hard, no matter what franchise of movie it is if you dig the piece.
I also didn’t buy this

This is one badass piece! Guaranteed, anyone walking into a room that has this statue will immediately find their attention is drawn to it.
When WETA makes something they go all out. They're phenomenal!!

I think that the most insane 1/6th scale I’ve ever seen
the review on balrog vs Gandalf is going to be mental as well can’t wait to see it
Yooooooooooo MR X wtf it’s a beast where u putting that big boy!! I would hav no room for that joint it’s crazy!!! Maybe the craziest one u showed yet!!
Oooooooo u giving it back lol i was saying lol crazy

Now that's got presence! I'm glad Todd is sending you pieces like this to share with the community. Thanks for the review

really nice piece to see up close, thanks Spec Fiction Collectables and Xtreme!
fantastic review! I have been on the sidelines for this statue for a while but I think you have convinced me to pic one up.
Glad to see some LOTR/Hobbit love on this channel!
Awesome looking piece. Thanks for the video Mr.X.
I got to see this up close I like this horns and the dude in the chait they could have just done that. there was also no forest around it I was impressed. I'll the top part of the statue with pretentious elf guy
"This is how I sit on the terlit" -Mr. X
It's TURLET
So sick. I don't own any LOTR statues but every time I see pieces like this it makes me want to watch the movies again.
Wow - way bigger than I imagined. Really awesome piece. My biggest issue with Weta is that their faces just don't compare to what other companies pull off. They're good but not great, and at the price point they ask, I think the faces could be better (speaking in general terms across their lines).

Thanks for the review,i love this statue.
I prefer the original trilogy over the hobbit movies, but this piece is mind-blowing in scope alone. Super cool!
Damn!!! That statue is something I don’t know how would you even display that piece
Wow! Magnificent. Definitely a statement piece. I wasn't a huge fan of the Lord of the rings but I did enjoy the Hobbit.
This guy was my favorite character in the Hobbit
This is masterpiece
This is unreal. Not the biggest LOTRs fan (loved the first three but not so much the Hobbit), but this is just incredible. Thanks for getting it on the table
Damn that is one massive statue. Always liked the look of that throne room in the movie so it's cool to see it brought to life like this.
I have never seen a lord of the ribgs statue like that. I love it
Damn that's big! Beautiful piece. Can't wait to get 1/6 sauron from weta.
Got it and I love it. The sculpture commands attention. To me its worth the price since I don't get tired of looking at this amazing sculpture. I will for sure hold this piece for a very very long time.
I love this! You should definitely keep it.
Interesting piece. Fantasy and LOTR is my wife's thing. Although she loves the elves, this thing is far too massive. Maybe just the throne and figure without the massive staircase.

this one is really Xtreme, massive piece, really like it!
Man I absolutely love this! But this would be a very difficult statue to display. Between that and the price (which I believe is fair given how awesome it is), I have to stay my hand. Grats to anyone who has it though. Absolutely breath taking.
Love the look of this. Truly a work of art.
Damn. This thing is crazy impressive!
I actually think the guard looks much better than Thranduil and way less toyish than his head. At least from what I see from this video.
Nice review. Are you considering the weta dead marshes master collection piece? I’m very tempted on it.
I think it's their best piece yet, but don't want to go down that rabbit hole.
The details on this piece is ama-za-zing, kudos to weta for a great statue.
This piece is ridiculous. Soooooo dope 👌
Man that thing is massive (sadly That’s Not What She Said) 🤪 I definitely wouldn’t have room for this piece. I mostly collect Disney/Toy Story and have a few large Little Green Men figures but don’t think they are this big. I can’t wait for my new house to have more room.
If I collected LotR that would be on my wishlist for sure
really like the steps up to the throne and the antlers.
That's very impressive for a character that I barely remember.
Such a cool statue!!
Looks great!! Is we’re pieces porcelain resin, solid resin, or not so great materials?
Mix of everything. Lots of resin.
What a statue and love the concept of the throne. Wish this was 1/4 lol
Would hit the ceiling
Impressive size and detail. Weta never disappoints with l.o.r. merch
That is so freaking huge!!! 😱

That piece is insane and looks great! Not my style but can definitely appreciate it.

Jeez dude this is truly massive… and lolll 5 hands 🤣 but dang those seem lines are crazy looking 🧐
It would have been cool if instead of the guard it was a standing Thranduil. That way you can still display him if you want the throne to empty.
Crazy details!
that is an awesome statue
An amazing piece, but the size is crazy!
Unexpectedly very cool
Holy cow. Sooooo big!
Holy crap mate that's impressive you'll struggle sending that bad boy back haha #restraint haha
THAT STATUE IS A MONSTER .
Damn that's huge!
I would love a statue I’m trying to start collecting statues! They are so cool to me!
thats big :D
But very nice piece!
Fav. Movie: LotR 2
having this the balrog and Sauron =win
It's deer antlers on a piece of driftwood..

Now that is massive. That's what she said
awesome bro ❤😍
That is a huge one 😳 definitely one hell of a Thrown statue
My gosh this is such a big piece! Details are pretty spot on. I think the knot thing I’m not in love with are the portraits. I’m also getting action figure vibes from them. Overall a great piece.
I wouldn't see anything els but thus statue :0
Insane piece
Amazing. Love this character.
And by that I mean Mr. X 😜😂
Great piece
Nice piece, how much does it weigh, if you had to guess?
It's probably on the website but it's lighter than you would think. I'm guessing 50lbs.
Crazy looking piece! Giant staircase lol, but it does look very different and beautiful.
IT LOOKS LIKE THE STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN. LOOKS LIKE THE STAIRS FROM THE FIGHT BETWEEN THE KURGEN AND RAMIREZ IN THE HIGHLANDER MOVIE.👊🏽
Heaven better not be stairs. I'll be tired after dying. They better float my ass up.
@@TheXtremeChannelMrX 😅😂🤣
That is 1/6 from weta that’s insane imagine a 1/4 or half scale 😳😳😳
This statue is way better than the movie
It’s great! If I had room I would collect lord of the rings. But I can’t give up any lines that I have
Are you getting P1 Sauron?
I'm not. Too much of a rabbit hole.
IMPRESSIVE STATUE FROM WETA
Definitely a huge, ambitious piece with lots of presence. The portrait of Thrandil could have a better likeness. The base is loaded with detail.
Amazing piece! I'm a huge fan of Middle Earth....... but a huge fan from across the street! Lol
My jaw dropped but it's just too big.
RETURN OF THE KING / BUT I COULD SAY FOR ME I LOVE THEM ALL
Sweet!
wow that takes a lot of space
Oh the guard just stands there. Doesn’t have a magnet or anything? Doesn’t look like it would be really stable.
It doesn't have a magnet but it's balanced pretty well. Suprisingly.
Very large piece, but it looks great. Agree for LOR fan, this would be a must own.
kool piece
Sorry MR X I haven't heard Of WETA. But I Must say that is a big amazing piece.its done so well but statues like this don't make IT too Australia details On This hardcore.
Love it. Too large and expensive for me though.
Lol. Lord of the Rings is not about the movies. It's about JRR Tolkien's masterpiece trilogy books released in 1938.
That is a great diorama but damn that Weta premium hurts
