Here I'm playing over a bassless mixdown of the studio recording we did in Hollywood '22. I'm playing my Cortex bass with Ernie Ball super slinkys and recorded with my Eich T-1000 amp straight into my audio interface. No digital post processing on the audio, just volume riding and some compression/limiting with mastering.

Ha, well, I'll try not to disappoint :) I've some history playing guitar (and a bit of drums), but I've never really committed. Bass has always tempted me, but it took finding Remco and then other talented bassists to realize it's where I belong. I'm not young anymore, but I'm excited (and committed) to find out how far I can go with it. Time will tell.. @@wll1500

Jesus! Your picking hand is doing more work than 90 percent of bassists can do with both hands. I still can't fully wrap my brain around what I'm hearing. It sounds like some tripple and quad muted notes. All honesty here, your picking technique is the best I've ever seen. I have to watch this again to try and figure it out.

I’m not in the market for another bass guitar (owning 3 as of January 2024). If I do decide to get another, this video is serving to magnify that I’ll most likely want one with either one bucker (like the Stingray) or one this model’s H-H configuration.
I did come this close a couple of days ago to grabbing up for $100 a Steinberger bass kit available in Facebook marketplace. If I had taken that plunge, I wouldn’t have bought a synapse headpiece and had it assembled by my friend in the East Village of New York City.

Hi Remco, what a way to bring in the New Year with an unbelievable arrangement .. you make those strings look like rubber bands.. String action is so low with the looks of an almost flat radius neck.. Sounds phenomenal !! Great work..🤘
Thanks for the kind words, much appreciated! I'm very picky on my action indeed, it's got a compound radius of 8" at the nut and 18" at the 2nd octave. It just opens up a lot of doors when set exactly right, a thing I've been chasing for many years. Cheers!

Usually with a lot of the music that's shown on UA-cam has me hoping the songs will end soon as it was not that interesting. But not this guy. I was actually disappointed when the song finished that it wasn't long enough.
Watching this guys fingers dance across the fretboard was liken to Z of a jazz version of Riverdance. Love those subtle bending of notes, the little vibrato thrown in, and just the total general flair of his playing.
Now after watching this, I need to strap on one my four string battle axe (JBass) and practice for the next five hours, or until my fingers bleed.

There is something wrong with your bass though. It has frets. You might want to return it as with your chops frets might suggest a factory defect. 😂Seriously, I’m blown away by your grooves and talent whether on fretted or fretless. This is a great jam ❤!

I'm playing a Cortex bass with Nordstrand Dual Coil pickups, strung up with Ernie Ball Super Slinkys. I used a Darkglass Hyper Luminal compressor and a Rodenberg 707b clean booster and recorded the signal with a Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 interface into Cubase. No post audio processing or plugins used, to me it sounds better untouched. I'm playing on a bassless mix of the song with headphones, we recorded it simultaneously in a studio, I mixed the bass and take together and mastered it with Ozone. Cheers!
