I grew up Southern Baptist and I still took a ride on that long black train but the Lord pulled me back even though we can't see it the Lord is powerful and gracious everybody just remember and sometimes I forget but thank him everyday for what we have
Not too terribly sure, no expert at all!!! But, my Dad had an incredibly deep voice. Every time he spoke it sounded wonderful, even a simple thing, like," Go get my wrench..." etc. He sang like an angel. I was later told that because he went below "G" into "E" he was bass. Not sure if this is true. If you know differently, please let me know. I only know that as a child (he passed when I was young), that his voice calmed me and made me feel safe and protected because it matched his personality. Thank you!
Great reaction, from a Christian viewpoint this is an uplifting and beautiful song, whether we struggle with gluttony, addiction, etc, we all have access to heaven anyway, we just have to choose Him instead of 'the long black train.'
There's victory in the Lord! Amen. Josh is a Christian and shares his faith in a lot of his songs. I love his song Me and God, with the great Ralph Stanley.
Great reaction to a fantastic song. This was his first hit. When he play it at the Grand Old Opry the first time he got interrupted with fa standing ovation part of the way thru the song and he to start it over for the audience. Your next Josh Turner song should be WOULD YOU GO WITH ME. This upbeat song really makes his deep voice stand out. You and your family have a blessed day.
The train represents the devil. He’s letting people know they don’t need to take that train. There is Victory in God. Ask Jesus to come into your heart, leave your past behind and never look back. He loves you.
Heartfelt reaction! I think this was Josh's first hit. He's a true Christian who walks the walk; so this is his message to those who are Spiritually lost that they can overcome the evil through accepting Jesus as their Savior! Tim Foust & Chris Rupp (from Home Free) have a version of this song.😊 I'm still begging you to react to Chuck Wicks' "Stealing Cinderella" & "Old With You" (do both "official music videos")! Also Eddie Montgomery's (of Montgomery Gentry) song, "My Son" (official music video)! I PROMISE you won't be disappointed with any of those! Thank you!😊
Tim Foust from Home Free does a great cover of "Long Black Train" with Chris Rupp. Tim also does a great version of "Your Man". I think you would really enjoy both songs. Tim is one of the few bass singers today that can really do justice to any Josh Turner song.
This is one of my favorite songs. My dad used to sing this in music rooms all the time and people thought my dad sounded just like Josh Turner. Great reaction!
When Josh wrote this song, he ask Mr. Cash to sing it. He said he thought that Josh really should record it. Was Josh’s first hit, if I’m not mistaken.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song!! Josh Turner’s voice is so perfect for singing it. I’m surprised that you consider it “dark”. I think of it as “inspiring”, but that’s just me 😊. I’m so happy that you had the pleasure of hearing it.
I remember listening to the Long Black train on local radio. It was very popular. I believe this was Josh Turners first. It launch his career in country music. Really like your comments. Thanks for sharing. The Virginian 🇺🇸
Can't wait to see your reaction. Yep, a dark song and thought provoking. Great reaction❤ Josh has a such a smooth rich bass voice, his singing is beautiful. "Would You Go With Me" and "Me and God" are beautiful songs.
His voice & everything about it is very country. Josh's version is the only one I've ever heard & ever need to hear. Thank you for your reaction. I'm so glad you like it.
He has such a great voice. I mostly know his lighter stuff. Firecracker is fun. And Why Don't We Just Dance was my introduction and still my favorite with a very fun video.
Amazing reaction my friend!!...I have seen your reactions to Dimash, the best male singer of the world (In my personal opinion)...Now I want to invite you to meet, who is considered like The Fourth Element of All Time Vocal Trinity (with Whitney, Mariah and Celine) and one of the Best Female Singers of the World...The passion and dedication when Dimash is performing a song can only be compared with the person who has influenced him to sing leaving everything on stage: His idol, the queen, the incomparable, the Goddess: Lara Fabian...She is a lyric soprano with a amazing vocal range and incredible breath control...She speaks and composes in 5 languages and sings in more than 15 languages....That's why she is the inspiration for Dimash and several singers around the world...You can see covers of her songs on UA-cam made by singers of the stature of: Dimash, Diana Ankudinova, Polina Gagarina, Forestella, Julie Anne San Jose, Sissel Kyrkjebo, Floor Jansen, Diana Navarro, Giulia Falcone, Morissette Amon, Gabriel Henrique, Rimar, Katrina Velarde, Cakra Khan and others...Please react to her songs, all masterpieces, in LIVE versions, because Lara is more impressive when she sings live, so you can see why she is the idol of Dimash...Try to do it in this order and almost all songs are from the same Lara’s concert “From Lara With Love” in Montreal 1999, one of her best works: 1) Je Suis Malade (Singing in French)...2) Caruso (Singing in Italian)...3) Je T'AIME (2002 Live version in Paris Singing in French)...4) Perdere L'Amore (1999 Live version Singing in Italian)...5) Adagio (1999 Live version singing in english)...6) Broken Vow (1999 Live version singing in English)...7) You are Not From Here (1999 Live version singing in English)...8) Quédate (1999 Live version singing in Spanish)....9) Ti Amo Cosi (2019 Live version Singing a trío with Dimash and Aida Garifullina)....I hope to see you first reaction soon and if you don't mind, I'd like you to mention me as the person who recommended reacting to Lara...Here you have the link of her amazing performance of the song “Je Suis Malade”....ua-cam.com/video/eHSyk4SGtuY/v-deo.html
There's an ENGINEER on that long BLACK train, FEEDING OFF THE SOUL's that are LOST and crying, making you wonder if the ride IS WORTH THE PAIN. RAILS OF SIN ONLY EVIL REMAINS. There's victory and redemption if look to the heavens.
You interpreted it right, Craig. There's victory in the Lord. That's the hope we have those that are in the Lord. I think this was the first song Josh Turner put out in his Country music career and it went to #1.
I could be wrong, but if I recall, I think he said at some point that he wrote this after having a dream about a vision like that. And the train represents various addictions and ways that people escape and hide from their problems, rather than facing them head on and looking to God for the strength to work through them. Extremely powerful, and one of my favorites, too. I've seen the video dozens of times and I still tear up a little.
He has so many fun songs. This is his first big hit and I still think of it as his best song. Would you go with me? is another of his songs worth checking out.
I would love a reaction to Kenny Rogers' "Buy me a Rose". I think it is a beautiful song that for some reason no one reacts to. It is also one of the few (and maybe only?) song that he made a music video for, so it is nice to actually see Kenny.
He has another you might like "Would you go with me?" is an interesting video and song. The long black train represents any habit that is self destructive and needs help to abandon.
As I understand the song, the train symbolizes temptation. "That train is a beauty making everybody stare, but its only destination is the middle of nowhere." The song seems to be saying that Satan uses any means possible to keep us from following God, and that when we give into temptation, the consequences are alcoholism, depression, unwanted pregnancy, etc. But the song also says that God is willing to forgive us. "I stand at the door and knock." (Rev 3:20)
You got that right; when we’re tempted, we’re pushed away from God. Jesus knew straight away Satan was tempting Him when He fasted in the wilderness. But each & every time, Jesus said “No!” followed by Scripture to back it up.
I grew up Southern Baptist and I still took a ride on that long black train but the Lord pulled me back even though we can't see it the Lord is powerful and gracious everybody just remember and sometimes I forget but thank him everyday for what we have
This is a powerful song. We all have choices. Light or dark. Good or evil. Heaven or Hell? The Lord or the Devil? I love this song.
The BEST Baritone Voice I've Ever Heard, Smooth As Silk And Outstanding Resonance.👍👍👍👍
Not too terribly sure, no expert at all!!! But, my Dad had an incredibly deep voice. Great reaction, from a Christian viewpoint this is an uplifting and beautiful song, whether we struggle with gluttony, addiction, etc, we all have access to heaven anyway, we just have to choose Him instead of 'the long black train.'
The message is to not let the evils take you away. There's always light at the end of the tunnel, if you get on the right track.
Love this song, so many people just give up and refuse or feel they can't fight back from the darkness they find themselves in.
There's victory in the Lord! Amen. Josh is a Christian and shares his faith in a lot of his songs. I love his song Me and God, with the great Ralph Stanley.

EXACTLY
Amen!
Amen!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Well said and so true.
Close, the devil is the engineer and the train is temptation (at least that was what Josh Turner said).👍
American southern gospel roots proclaiming a message of hope.
He has one of the most unique voices of any genre of music. This was his breakthrough hit off his debut album in 2003.
I love the gospel overtones in this song.
Heartfelt reaction! I think this was Josh's first hit. I LUV WATCHING YOUR REACTIONS SO KEEP IT UP
Josh Turner was originally a gospel singer. I think the long black train represents temptations
This is one of my favorite songs. My dad used to sing this in music rooms all the time and people thought my dad sounded just like Josh Turner. Great reaction!
My favorite song from Josh Turner. He has a great voice.
This guy's voice is something else. I'm not particularly religious, but I love this song.
When Josh wrote this song, he ask Mr. Cash to sing it. He said he thought that Josh really should record it. Was Josh’s first hit, if I’m not mistaken.
It sure was Marsha, and the hits keep a coming.
I love his deep voice! Thank you for reacting to this song and he has many more!!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this song!! Josh Turner’s voice is so perfect for singing it. I’m surprised that you consider it “dark”. I think of it as “inspiring”, but that’s just me 😊.
I’m so happy that you had the pleasure of hearing it.
The first time I heard this song I was in tears. It was so beautiful. I got it right away
the way he was raised is my FAVORITE song
I think the dark train is a ticket to a place where know one wants to go.
He started his career as a gospel singer.
I love that for a while you experienced what we call, "perfect silence".
I remember listening to the Long Black train on local radio. It was very popular. I believe this was Josh Turners first. It launch his career in country music. Really like your comments. Thanks for sharing. The Virginian 🇺🇸
Awesome song Josh is a great artist! Great reaction! Awesome Song!
This song means so, so, much. Everyone needs to LISTEN to it. Don't hurt he's a Carolina boy
A seriously unrated 90s artist is John Anderson.
My 3 favourite songs by him:

Seminole Wind is ridiculously underrated

Josh Turner has another song that has a lot of history. Tears of god.
His voice & everything about it is very country.

He has such a great voice. I mostly know his lighter stuff. Firecracker is fun. And Why Don't We Just Dance was my introduction and still my favorite with a very fun video.
“Would You Go With Me” is a great Josh Turner song (official video)
Your Johnny Cash comparison was spot on. I hadn’t thought of that before.
It is a powerful song. He is warning them not to do evil. Great song.
I AGREE WITH YOU. IT'S DEEP.
This is definitely a gospel song and no you don’t want to ride on that Black train! He has a great voice!! Nice reaction
Your next Josh Turner reaction HAS TO BE Will You Go With Me!! Absolutely beautiful song and you will have a smile on your face the whole time!!
YES! You got it right.
This was his first hit.
Country radio wouldn’t play the song until so many people had bought it, it was a hit before radio ever played it
Great song!
What a voice.
Always loved this song and Josh
Praise God
this was the first song I ever heard Josh sing
Josh is going to be in our little town this weekend, can’t wait!

Yes, there's a message. Listen to it, or not. Your choice. He gave us free will.
as someone who went through shit god has brought me back to life praise him i love you all god bless all of you
There's an ENGINEER on that long BLACK train, FEEDING OFF THE SOUL's that are LOST and crying, making you wonder if the ride IS WORTH THE PAIN. RAILS OF SIN ONLY EVIL REMAINS.
There's victory and redemption if look to the heavens.
Absolutely correct!
Love your reaction
Another great song with a spiritual message is "Three Wooden Crosses" by Randy Travis
You interpreted it right, Craig. There's victory in the Lord. That's the hope we have those that are in the Lord. I think this was the first song Josh Turner put out in his Country music career and it went to #1.
And have to let you I enjoy your video reactions and my wife always say there 🔥
You got it exactly right! 😊
A great reaction. This is a very powerful and honest song.
I love this song and video
Ooh, glad you got to this one. One of my favorites.
Makes a lot of sense. I can see cash singing this too.
Josh is amazing. He's my favorite country artist. You gotta check out Firecracker by him.
That is the song that made Josh famous.
Love this song
The first time I heard it, I had the same reaction. 💥
So glad you did this one, I love the way you search out the good ones!
Josh live by his faith
It's Just A Matter Of Time .... Randy Travis' official video ... He can also go that deep (Diggin' Up Bones, too)
"Diggin Up Bones" is a great song!
Josh Turner: Would You Go With Me, Official Video
Toby Keith: Cryin For Me, Wayman’s Song, Official Video
Stay safe & love much💖
Cheers!
Great reaction! I would love to see your reaction to Dan Vasc Amazing Grace. I think you would like it.
Yes, I could see Johnny Cash singing this song as well.
He has another you might like "Would you go with me?" is an interesting video and song. The long black train represents any habit that is self destructive and needs help to abandon.

Josh also does a duet with Randy Travis of Three Wooden Crosses
Tim Foust and Chris Rupp covered this one. Tim's voice is stunning, as usual!
Amazing
You should check out "Firecracker" by Josh Turner. Upbeaat and fun. Even my son loves it and he is not a country fan.
Joshua Turner love God.
Love his voice. For an up beat one you need to listen to FireCracker
He is very dedicated to his faith it is a cash style song
The devil was collecting souls in the long black train. Josh Turner was showing his gospel roots.
The message I get from this is when things feel hopeless you can give in to despair or look to God for renewed hope.
Listen to David Phelps sing Oh Holy Night he will knock your socks off. He sings with Gaither Gospel Group
PLEASE watch Tim Foust an Chris Rupp from original HOME FREE. Their cover is exceptional IMO. 🎼 ❤️👍
Great reaction as always. I recommend Would You Go With Me for another great Josh Turner song.
Josh is very much a Christian and not apologetic about his beliefs. I love his music.
