One of Turners best songs. Turner stated that the train was a physical metaphor for temptation. The people are caught up in the decision of whether or not to go on this train. It was a time in his life when he was trying to figure out who he was as an artist and a person. He was learning how to deal with life away from home for the first time and dealing with the freedom.
His voice is remarkable. This is maybe his best, but he does an amazing cover of Swing Low, Sweet Chariot. I also suggest Would You Go With Me, which isn't a gospial song and Your Man. He also sings Three Wooden Crosses with Randy Travis. But he has a classic country music voice.
The first Josh Turner song I ever herd is "Won't you go with me" and other was "Why don't we just dance" which are light hearted romantic cheese songs, which I adore. He also did a cover of 3 wooden crosses with Randy Travis.
I remember reading an interview years ago where Josh said when he was a kid, he decided he wanted a deep voice so he not only talked as deep as he could but when he found out that screaming over and over can cause your vocal cords to crack, which causes them to lengthen and deepen the voice over time, well.... that's what he did. True or not, I don't know... but either way, what a bass he ended up with!
🤤Josh Turner🤤 His voice just ohhh be still my heart. I love his voice and everyone of his songs are awesome. "Would you go with me" is his best in my opinion.
Josh Turner has the sexiest voice in country music. The reaction y'all have for this particular song, honestly, I thought, y'all would hate it. But the spiritual suicide is spot on!!
So many people, without the aid of the video, don't understand the metaphor. I understand how that happen. When I first heard this song, I couldn't get over the voice enough to hear the message.
There are a lot of country songs that talk about God the values and morals of country music a lot of it is rooted in Christian values And this is definitely a country song but also a gospel song
You've already gotten the main Josh Turner songs available his gospel work is extraordinary his cheesy love songs or spectacular Long Black train is an extraordinary message and I really enjoyed just reaction to it well done guys.
Saving Amy by Brantley Gilbert is a song I think yall would really enjoy because it is a story that will hit you hard! Brantely wrote the song after his best friend proposed to girlfriend and he ended up dying in a car crash later that night.

As a guitar player, I'm very familiar with Billy Strings. That dude is an absolute beast! I just checked with Dustin. He hasn't heard this. We're going to have to get this on the channel soon, and I may make an executive decision to jump the line, even though we've had several requests for this. - Keith
@@BourbonCountryReacts Not sure how familiar you are with him, but maybe a track thats a little less popular from him like "Turmoil and Tinfoil" would be best if neither of you have heard it. I think you would like that one regardless. As crazy as it sounds, I would describe it as Acoustic Metal Bluegrass. It's very melodic like some Metal bands get.
I probably been to the Church you’re talking about. I grew up about 10min down the creek from the Hatfield Cemetery. My buddy was Devil Anse great grandson and his house was next to the old homestead.
Love your reactions - both to the music and to the bourbon! Home Free does covers of most of the above requested stuff, especially since their bass (Tim Foust) loves Josh Turner. But they also do some really good originals. For humorous music, try "Champagne Taste on a Beer Budget". All the drums and other instrumentation sounds that you hear are performed by all the guys, but mostly (and perfectly) by Adam Rupp. By the way, Home Free is the only a capella country band - and yes, it's considered a band, and they've played the Opry.
Love this song. Had my first Woodford at the local bar just a few days ago. 2 large fingers for $6, the owner ordered the wrong bottle so they had the wheat for cheap lol. It was so good. After seeing your reviews from this manufacturer, I had to try it, and new to hold it on my tongue. Was more than worth the cost since I knew how to drink it.
He and his wife sing together and he also has several gospel albums. Another great country song is Would You Go With Me and It Turns Me On to be Your Man
OK guys. Haven't found it yet so you may have done it but check out Billy Strings and Marcus King "Summertime". 2 of the best pickers out nowadays. Just them playing 2 vintage Guitars.
You guys picked a really great one. Josh Turner has the BEST country voice ever. Would You Go with Me - I think was his first hit. And Why Don't We Just Dance is a really fun song. Cheers from Canada!

Such a wonderful reaction. If you want to do a reaction to another great Country Gospel song - check out Sawyer Brown's - 800 pound Jesus. Wynona Judd has a great song as well - Jesus and a Juke box.
would you believe the deep voice in this song is the result of an adult illness that so altered his voice that it would've ruined the musical career of a lesser man? this was the first song he made after the vocal change. he actually made superstardom BECAUSE of an illness permanently changing his voice. if you listen to the songs he did before this one, you wouldn't believe it was the same artist singing just a matter of months apart, that's how major the vocal change was. it was hugely talked about in country fandom at the time.
Loved this and love your guys bromance you crack me up! This was actually his breakout song. And the rest of the songs most of us have recommended are non gospel they are just pure country Josh Turner and that soulful sooth voice. So I saw a reaction on one of my other channels and it was of Brad Paisley playing "Timewarp" live on Letterman. As I understand the song, the train symbolizes temptation. "That train is a beauty making everybody stare, but its only destination is the middle of nowhere." The song seems to be saying that Satan uses any means possible to keep us from following God, and that when we give into temptation, the consequences are alcoholism, depression, unwanted pregnancy, etc. But the song also says that God is willing to forgive us. "I stand at the door and knock." (Rev 3:20)
