Great looking group of 55 Bowmans! And very affordable! When I was younger I didn't care much for the set design, especially compared to the other Bowman sets. But since I've started to build my vintage collection I like the set more and more.
The '55 Bowmans are a classic. From the images on the front to the different backs, some with stories. I remember when I was a kid, the TV listings used to put a (C) next to a program to show that it was in color. Of course, eventually they stopped doing that as all shows were in color.
Nice haul my friend. I decided to set build the 1955 Bowman too as well as the 1951 Topps. I have almost 40% of the 1955 Bowmans and about 30% of the 1951 Topps completed.
FYI all the photos were taken at Philadelphia stadium. The A's and Phillies used the same stadium. Bowman was located in Philadelphia so it makes sense to shoot all the photos there. I love the 1955 Bowman set.
i think its the wood border that does it for most, im into vintage life style so i always loved these bad boys, i remember the first time ive seen them in 2008 i was like.... wtf are those!!! ahhh!!! i need some!!! 😫 🤣
I do like the 55 bowmans (although not as much as the 50-53 sets), but I think what hurts the 55 Bowmans is that the Topps from that year are even better.
yeah i can totally see the 55 topps hurting the 55 bowman, i wonder if there was people who chose one or the other back in the day example like in today with psa and sgc and some people like one over the other.
Suuuup Mikey, dude i love your collection, thanks for making videos, your channel GeezMikey,Peppino Man and Darrell Giordano(Mr95cents) are my favorite card channels.
@@geezmikey No doubt bro,i collect most sports and some non sports,my favorites are the 80s and 90s baseball and hockey, def love vintage too,i haven't bought much online so kinda starting with my local spots and cardshows,Thanks for making videos Mikey, always happy to see a new one pop up!
The color photos are beautiful. I think the problem is the poor centering in how they were cut. An off center TV doesn't look right. And the light maple colored border can show up on a darker mahogany border when miscues. That and the umpire cards didn't help either.
lol an off tv DOES NOT LOOK right, you are totally right on that... i get the flaws in the designs, but theyre still unique atleast i think. you going to the burbank card show in september??
Hello Geez. I have a bunch of 1955 Bowman duplicates, if your in need. Didn't see your email listed, so shoot me one and I'll get back to you. As expected with this set, the lighter border cards age better. Not one of my favorite sets.. probably because the Mantle was min size. Ha.

youve come along ways with your collection, love seeing it grow over time!
I like the '55 Bowman's. Reminds me of the TV set my grandparents had.
lol i think we all had a tv similar to that at one time in our life 😂

Good eye. It was either called Shibe Park or Connie Mack Stadium. I'm not sure when they changed the name.
thats interesting right!!
Very under appreciated colorful set! Great scores on the ones you just added! Happy collecting and thanks for sharing! I’ve got about four of them.

Mikey I didn’t really like the 55 Bowman’s at first, but now I love them! The TV framing is a great talking point. Great video as always.

lol thats great you got a soft spot for them now!
We had a black-and-white TV in the 70s. Lol.
lol oh how times has changed, i had one too in the early 90s, and playing nintendo in black and white sucks! 🤣
I alwayys liked 54 and 55 bowman cards so advanced
