Exactly. Im somebody who generally hates live service but Ghost Ship has managed to make it fun.
This and Helldivers 2 is what all live services should really strive to be. These two are how a live service should be done.

So I, as someone who only started playing the game a couple of months ago, can actually go back and unlock a bunch of stuff I missed?
See, this is how you keep a game relevant; make it so that new players have a chance as well as rewarding your long-term players. So glad I bought this game.

Hell I started playing the game almost 4 years ago before they even started seasons. So I was a little burnt out when they came out. I never got to finish most of them but now I can. We love ghost ship games

Best business structure in the industry. No fomo, no predatory customer practices, no bullshit. This games deserves every bit of praise it gets
IKR? Makes me 10 times as likely to buy their cosmetic bundles just to support them for being the opposite of cash grab AAA game companies. Let this be a lesson to other devs: Love your players and they love you back.
I know right? It actually makes me excited to buy the expansion packs for cosmetics.
I own EVERY bundle and I don’t even feel like I wasted any money! All of the cosmetics are beautiful and GSG deserves it. Honestly I don’t know why they thank us for buying the cosmetics.
The amount of respect GSG has for their player is a ray of sunshine with how the general feel has been with a lot of live service games.
As someone who really struggles with Fomo I respect the shit outta them for doing everything possible to never lock content away or scam players with paid battle passes they don't even get to keep.
I have bought every single dlc pack + both supporter packs just to support them because they truly deserve it!

If only all games companies had such respect for people's time, it really should be the standard.

You know, what the big AAA Studios don't seem to comprehend, is that building a wholesome and devoted fanbase is what keeps your game alive much much longer and makes it so much more fun, than everything else. You guys still putting in work in this new Season, after many years, without charge, is what makes me want to go and buy a (cosmetic) DLC or even multiple over time, to show my support for a great project. No subscription or paid battle pass needed... Rock and Stone, to the Bone!

And no PSN account requirement added retroactively which blocks 177 countries

They understand why this company makes money and keeps its playerbase but they also have to keep making more money. Ghost Ship is obviously fine making as much as they do now, AAA game studios have to make more money every time or they get shut down like Microsoft just did to a bunch of studios that made some decent games like Hi Fi Rush.
Seasons 1 and 2 threat: a rival company invading the territory;
Seasons 3 and 4 threat: a parasitic virus destroying the planet;
Season 5 Threat: The Company's Own Greed
real.
And probably some extradimensional aliens pissed that we made beer from their stones
Rogue Core has been teased. Eventually Hoxxes itself is alive and angry.
That's *every* Season's real threat.
Though these Core Spawn might be getting teased as the villains of the next season.

the only time i had fun in a AAA game is when i played Dishonored 1/2 and Fallout 4, almost every single indie game i've played was super fun and cheap

GSG, you guys have officially done it. You've made the best battlepass system that exists. Not only is it free, now anything you miss, you can go back and earn without any randomness? The limited time nature and fear of missing out has always been the worst part of any battlepass, always making a game feel like a chore. DRG, despite being flavored as a dead-end job, has entirely gone against feeling like a chore.

@@Rodrifer2004 Except in Helldivers its not free. Yes you can grind out the super credits if you want to, but that is quite tedious and definitely not fun. And these warbonds actually contain additional equipment. I still don´t have the warbond with the breaker incendiary. In DRG I just need to do some quests for weapons and bam, got em. Meanwhile the only monetization on DRG besides buying the game is cosmetic dlc, so while nice, entirely irrelevant to gameplay.
Management is like;
“We know we've been ignoring OSHA from the very moment you started working here. But! If you discard that security belt and more, we'll fatten your paycheck tenfold.

Assuming more half of the dwarfs die at these risky offering and don't have to be paid anymore I'm sure it will be profitable for management if they only need to compansate by paying the few surviving dwarfs a bit more.

The number of new gameplay additions is always incredible, but it's the ridiculously consumer-friendly approach to content in general that continues to prove that you guys are the best devs around. Rock and stone!

I don’t think I know of another dev team that cares about its fans more than Ghost Ship. Having a free season, much less the ability to reactivate past ones is probably mind boggling for the modern gamer.
You know modern gaming is fucked when this is as huge as it is. Wish every game had as goated devs as DRG.

@@LaHence_ This is how capitalism is supposed to work. The creator gives something nice to their audience, and their customers will choose to give them money for it in return. If both sides are generous and fair, then everyone profits, and everyone is happy.
But these days, almost every company starts every transaction by taking everything they can from their audience. Then, if their customers actually want to get anything in return, they have to fight super hard to take whatever scraps they can manage. Unsurprisingly, this kind of constant tug-of-war is unhealthy for a proper flowing economy, because its always one-sided. And no one ends up happy.
So, let's reward GSG's generosity like we always do. ROCK AND STONE!

yea there was a really cool cosmetic way into the progression tree in season 3 i was just short of getting to before the new season started. and now according to q&a ill be able to pick up right where i left off when i go there but even having to start over

The Core spawn crawlers appear to be based off of the corespawn crawlers from DnD, specifically, Critical Role. There are crawlers, worms, emissaries, etc.

Also Ghost Ship: Lets allow a network error to exist on PlayStation for over a year that makes it so connecting to a random game has a 40% chance to cause an error that prevents you from joining anyone until you restart your game. And if you don't restart the error builds up until it crashes your system.
At this point I'll take the 200 buck DLCs if it would get them to fix the network errors that I constantly run into on this game. The need to memorize country codes because it keeps putting countries on the other side of the planet as close and giving me a lot of problems when trying to join those matches so I don't have to deal with 100+ ping.

God, Deep Rock's sound design just makes so much sense. Look at the stalker here with the distinct sound it makes compared to something like chargers in helldivers that just sneak up behind you with no audio whatsoever.
I too hate it when a 10-ton elephant silently sneaks up behind me and pancakes my ass.
