Thanks for doing this guys. Always a pleasure watching you Bryson on UA-cam. You are one of the finest pros in the game and despite shooting the lowest score of the season you still show great humility. Thank you!
In the the most respectful way, Bryson has somehow managed to keep an almost childlike innocence about him in spite of all the media attention and the cauldron of competitive golf. He really did want Rick to sink that birdie put on 18.
To see Rick's full blown excitement on that putt was just magic. It's what makes us keep coming back for more. Bryson has been a huge inspiration in my swing. Being a long time fan of these two. The chemistry was spot on and the golf was pure class. Congrats to you both for a fun round.
Great video with very swish video editing and style. What struck me was Bryson came across as such a genuine guy - wanted Ricks shots to go well, encouraging an opponent, picking up Rick's clubs and filing divots for a playing partner without a second thought is what demonstrates what a sound guy he is and shows the true character of the man.
Bryson comes across as a genuine nice guy. Easily the best -10 v tour pro vid’s. Rick growing into role of a global golf star and being less nervous than the earlier videos. Great work guys
He probably is. Mans just goes about his golf game a very qwirky different way that makes him 1 of the best in the world. I’d love to play a round with the guy
I don’t even play golf, but the video of him and Trump was on my recommended when it dropped and I’ve been hooked watching his videos ever since. Going to get fitted for a set of clubs this weekend and going to start playing. He seems like a genuinely nice guy.
Bryson is a stand up guy. My son and I saw him in a practice round at Wells Fargo a few years ago. A fellow golfer on my sons golf team was a huge Bryson fan but didn’t get to go to the practice round. Asked Bryson to give him a shout out so I could send it to him…And Bryson did. It made my sons fellow teammates day. Keep up the great work Bryson.
Bryson is an absolute genuine bloke, he has no ego to him at all like some other golfers, I rate him and Lee Westwood as two of the best fan interaction golfers out there
the stuff with Bryson on here and the pod really show Bryson well, just seems a top guy who really loves golf. the thought on every shot is crazy and something to admire and learn from
Its funny how Bryson is constantly having to manage being nice towards Rick, which I'm sure he really wants to be, but also being fiercly competitive and not wanting to loose the challenge 😆 He is exactly like i would imagine myself being in that kind of situation, if I was a pro, not having my best day and seeing the other guy getting OOB balls to bounce of a tree back onto the fairway several times 😅
That was definitely some of the best golf I've ever seen Rick play, an amazing improvement over the years he's had the channel especially in his short game
Big fan of Rick, however I don't personally think he played that well, and i think Rick would probably say the same, he hit a lot a poor shots, off tee box, got lucky a few times, but great content as usual!!
I think Rick is a great example of a golfer who generally scores worse than his abilities would dictate. He calls it bad luck, but I think there's a more realistic reason. Filming these rounds adds significant time to playing 18, and Rick looks to loose the laser focus required to play consistently. At times he looks like a scratch golfer and others he looks like a 12... and I completely relate. I can play near scratch over 9 holes when focused, but I tend to blow up due to distractions and slow rounds. I often look like a 2 to 4 hdcp on the range and pull off shots that no 15 hdcp should. Losing focus over roughly 1 out of 4 shots costs me a shot almsot every time. It doesn't matter that I know this, and trying hard to maintain focus can make it worse... so I accept it. Bottom line... I think Rick is playing some of his best golf in recent memory, and if he sticks with a good practice regimen and car reduce the perceived distractions breaking 75 should become commonplace.
It is good to see Bryson casually hanging out and talking about his game. It was very down-to-earth and helped me get to know him better. Great to see Rick do so well too...
Yes! But his on camera act gets old. Every video he’s gotta do the same shit. “I’m just here to grow the game and inspire young people” or the “I’m just a golf nerd , I get deep into the numbers and mechanics of the swing”. Me me me me me. It comes of sooooo fake. Every shot is “this is a very hard shot”. Every course he’s on has the hardest conditions according to him and he’s gotta let everyone know that.
I would rather watch matches like this than tournament golf. Calling shots and mindset for the shots is fantastic. Well played!!! Hope to see more of these 2 together. This is what golf should be about. Having fun and enjoying each others shots.
Or would you watch (instead of break 75) break 100 where 4 blokes and a copious amount of alcohol try to shoot under 100 in a Texas scramble style round.😊
@Mattsunx that would be funny with the right personalities.. you know how many times i thought of that with my friends??? I never thought to split the cost of two cameramen among the eight of us. Then i could have edited it myself. Damn, it could have been good
Bryson's attitude to bad shots is so good, he always sees the positive "I put a good roll on it", "good for distance", "just didn't spin", "it landed where I wanted"
Rick is probably a top 1 to 2% golfer and pros beat him by 10 strokes… There are levels to this game lol. Just goes to show how incredible these guys really are.
Dear Bryson and Rick, You guys both inspire me. I'm 57, just getting back into golf after 41 years of not playing. In 4 months I've gone from 124 strokes per round right down to my lowest at 84.. I just had my first set of custom clubs built for me. Wishon EQ1-NX single length irons. I'm gonna be scratch in 12 months. I wish.
There was a sincere positive vibe going on in this game. Super positive attitude and yet competitive. This is inspirational for us viewers. Thanks to both of you for this content.
This one was absolutely one of my favorites in a long time. I love being able to see Bryson on UA-cam. He doesn’t have to do this by any stretch of the imagination, but he lets us in on his game. Just shows the type of guy he is. To see Rick putting on the pressure and making it a match with one of the greats is awesome. Forever fan over here in Texas. Keep it going Rick.
This has been the best series yet. Bryson is such a down to earth and genuinely great person. It would be great to be able to play a round with him like this. Thoroughly enjoyed this one
This was a ton of fun to watch. Such a huge fan of Bryson. He's been my favorite golfer for many years now. First time seeing this channel. I'm an instant fan!
Bryson's willingness to play with other UA-camrs and start his own channel has made him 300x more likeable than Brooks. Bryson is literally the only guy who went to LIV that I miss lol. The rest can kick rocks.
I'm really glad he went to LIV, means he can do these kind of things. I don't watch LIV, but I sure enjoy him on his UA-cam videos more than watching the PGA tour atm
I don’t think how I view things to be any of your business. You see and hear what you like. I’ll do the same. This isn’t the platform for you to take a shot at me. Keep it to yourself. Play well brother 🫡
So much fun to watch you guys! I love that Bryson is so supportive and generous and positive! A real champion! Great job to you too Rick and a great round for you!
What an epic video. I wasn’t a Bryson fan before this but I am now. He comes across as such a decent guy and I love his thoughts on promoting golf. A wonderfully fitting end with two birdies.
We truly are in the golden age of golf for viewers on YT. Watching tour pros and getting to see them having fun on the course first hand. We are very lucky to see content like this. Bryson was the reason i picked up my first club at 31 years old.
*_B.D. is THE MAN! And a nice man, at that._* *_Met him once & was surprised at how down-to-earth he was for such a stud. He's definitely a humble & unassuming role model (and not just for golfers)!_*
That was so much fun to watch. Bryson was a joy. He played very well, and probably deserved a better score, but appreciated his thoughts about practicing, knowing the course, etc. too. Thanks to both of you gentlemen. Loved the finish.
Sweeeet! Bryson gets so much bad press and I never really gave him much of a chance…. What a good guy, thanks for allowing us to see his positive energy and personality. Very excited to watch the rest of this. Good luck… you’ll need it!
Abit late to the party but loved the golf, vibes, pals, mates , bro-manship and everything in between. Great content with Bryson. Very humble and likeable guy and one of the biggest names in the golf! Thanks for this collab Rick. 😊
Loving UA-cam golf like this more than normal tv golf. I’m new to the game and I find myself watching the whole video lots of good tips and tricks ! Love the videos Rick !
Wow Rick what a match. I was literally rooting for you the whole way till that insane life inspiring clutch putt in the end 👏🏻🤯. Over 2.7 million people was behide that putt, well done mate that was absolute class. Had us all in the end of our seats!
So, so much fun. I can't stand LIV golf, so it was great to see Byson play again. It's amazing how he can switch between having fun and putting on the 'game face' and back again so easily. And, apart from a few loose shots, Rick played some really good golf. The outcome was 'poetic' too. I didn't want either to lose, but especially didn't want Bryson to be the first scalp Rick took.
Listening to @brysondechambeau talk through the shot out loud with backswing height and pacing the putts and calculating how much backswing for yardage was so interesting. Another great episode 💪🏼💪🏼
Bryson is such a man of the people. Even fixing his opponents divots. Top player and character. Rick u started the round pasty white, and finished w a Florida Tan 😂
great match, this is the kind of stuff i like to see --- get a top-notch pro on a fine course that he knows nothing about. You'll see what their real skill level is like, and Bryson didn't disappoint. He's an absolutely incredible golf pro. Rick, even though he was getting 10 strokes, managed to get Bryson to start "trash talking" halfway through the front nine ! A couple of things i noted, from being a long-time Rick Shiels subscriber: 1) Rick's putting has improved dramatically. I don't think even Rick realizes how much it's improved (he didn't make a ton of putts, but he managed to mostly dodge the dreaded 3-putts - something he has struggled with mightily on his Break 75 Series efforts) 2) Rick, even being a long-time teaching pro, can still learn a few things while playing on the course. He flipped that little bit of grass up in the air early on trying to figure out what the wind was doing, and Bryson couldn't help himself but to tell him that was basically useless because it only told him what the wind was doing right where they were at, not at distance where it really mattered Great vid, and Bryson is awesome to take part in these things. Love to see how he manages himself around the course, and what he's thinking as he decides what to hit and how to hit it. Keep up the good work Rick!
That was incredible Rick.you played like a pro and kept it together brilliantly.I know Bryson gets a bad rap sometimes, but he is genuine and you can see he loves the game like you. That's really what matters in the end. Thank you for all your hard work and entertainment.
Love the videos, only part way through the episode but gotta make a call out - you need to replace the trusty blue 3 wood, I don't think I've seen you hit a good shot with it in the last 12 months. Would love to see an episode in the new year replacing old blue when all the new tech is out with a on course and in Sim trial. Anyway, keep up the awesome work Rick
Honestly, he comes across as very calculated and a bit egotistical. Im not saying thats a bad thing, and likely the reason for his success. Personally, I cheer for guys like Tony F, Fleetwood, Victor and Scottie
I like the homage to Peter Finch and Matt Fryer's Record Breakers series where they have reactions to the score after each hole based on how they do. Great video, gentlemen!
What a great match, well played Rick and it was nice to see Bryson being himself. He has previously been one of my least favourite players on tour but he was just great fun and genuinely encouraging of Rick - even though his incedible competitive nature shone through with some of his comments. Even then he knew they were obvious mind-games and he was aware that Rick knew, it was just banter. What I can't understand is that he seems to hit all of his short irons fat but they are absolutely superb., and I love how positive he is after ever shot.
Great round Rick for a really hard course and going up against one of the best at the game. I love to see pro golfers play courses they’ve never played or help from their caddies, it’s like they’re on more a a level playing field when playing amateurs. I also love the GRUNT shots from Bryson when he really goes for it. The only thing I didn’t like, a TIE???? Should’ve at least been a regular play off or a closest to the pin. Loved the video though!
Despite the short game "Lesson that changed my Life" he had a few months back with Dan. I suppose Rick's like the rest of us.... get a lesson, then don't practice anything you were taught.
Remember watching Bryson in the masters 2016! What an amazing dude he is. Incredible golfer and such a nice guy. Everything good for golf these days. Probably my favorite episode to date on your channel. Run it back haha🙏🙏
Not bad from Rick. Bryson is a top 5 golfer in the world right now. Almost won the Masters, came in 7th but was leading for 2 days and just came in 2nd in the PGA championship. Not bad to play him at a tough long course and tie with 10 shot differential to start.
What a video! I must say your best to date Rick. I’ve never paid particular attention to Bryson’s channel yet but my god what a guy! Can’t wait to watch round 2 already!!
Absolutely loved the video. One thing I would love to see is distance to the pin for each shot and club selection in top right with the card that has the score, current shot and distance of the hole
A brilliant watch. Almost a Ryder Cup moment there, wanting Bryson to miss for Team Shiels to finally win one. Agree about Brysons youtube content. My eldest loves watching his videos and using them as a guide to get his golf game better. That lesson he gave you where you were hitting mid irons from the bunker has been a great help.
I’ve only ever seen Bryson serious on the course. Almost zombie like. What a fantastic and lively character he is. A pleasure to watch and listen to. I will be now watching him in a different light in tournaments. A credit to golf.
From the time I picked up a golf club I was always a Tiger fan. I am still a Tiger fan but Bryson has quickly become someone I root for. I have seen his content with some of my favorite UA-cam golfers (good good) and now Rick. I love how these channels have made golf accessible to so many

What loft is on that driver of yours?
What a match...a dog fight. Looks like you enjoyed that last putt as much as the winning one for the major 👍
So fun to watch Bryson!
In the the most respectful way, Bryson has somehow managed to keep an almost childlike innocence about him in spite of all the media attention and the cauldron of competitive golf. He really did want Rick to sink that birdie put on 18.
he has a background in physics, I am not surprised on that account!
I can't be the only one who wants Rick to win but wants him to extend his winless streak in these challenges just as much.
I've been watching Rick play for a while now, and 18 was for sure the most emotionally fired up i've seen him. Way to deliver under pressure!
These 10 under start videos have been phenomenal Rick. It’s like watching a real Sunday match play final
To see Rick's full blown excitement on that putt was just magic. It's what makes us keep coming back for more. Bryson has been a huge inspiration in my swing. Being a long time fan of these two. The chemistry was spot on and the golf was pure class. Congrats to you both for a fun round.
Couldn’t agree more! I was legitimately off my couch when Rick made the putt and celebrated haha
Yeah agreed also like playing a really robotic tight style of shot it works wonders for fairway woods and had changed my game for the better.
Imagine getting the chance to play an amazing golf course with a world class athlete in his prime.
Bryson DeChambeau must feel very lucky.
👏👏👏
Hahahaha
Very original

Agree. I think the media paints a different picture of him.... seems like a top bloke
Couldn't agree more. Always had a "golf bro" image of him but he seems like a really good dude, and a real student of the game.
Completely disagree. I really disliked his whole demeanor; he comes across very broish.
Every course he’s on has the hardest conditions according to him and he’s gotta let everyone know that.
couldn't agree more.
I used to not like Bryson, thought he was arrogant. I couldn’t have been more wrong. He’s a cracking guy by the look of it.
Definitely seems like a great dude to have a round of golf with.
Lets be real... When he was younger he probably was... Most blokes chill out with age
You said perfectly. He is turning into my favorite player.
Exactly this. His UA-cam content has done his image the world of good
💯 with you on that.
Best series on YT. Hats off to Bryson, love the commentary on all the shots. Great insight on what he's thinking on every shot.

He flipped that little bit of grass up in the air early on trying to figure out what the wind was doing, and Bryson couldn't help himself but to tell him that was basically useless because it only told him what the wind was doing right where they were at, not at distance where it really mattered
Great vid, and Bryson is awesome to take part in these things. Love to see how he manages himself around the course, and what he's thinking as he decides what to hit and how to hit it. Keep up the good work Rick!
Seriously this combo is just what I needed. Long time fan Rick and Bryson is just such a phenomenal golfer. Can’t wait for the rematch
That was incredible Rick.you played like a pro and kept it together brilliantly.I know Bryson gets a bad rap sometimes, but he is genuine and you can see he loves the game like you. That's really what matters in the end. Thank you for all your hard work and entertainment.
Bryson has been killing it on UA-cam. Love watching him play. Hes humble, grounded, and always routes for the guys hes playing with.
Man, I do not know what video y'all were watching. He talks about himself way too much to be humble? (he brought up his own record at Sawgrass)
Grounded yes, But humble...Hell no
but then again, hes Bryson Dechambeau, he doesnt need to be humble
top tier glazing bro
All I will say before watching is good luck. Bryson is an absolute machine. Rick will need to be on the top of his game
This video really wants me to play along with Bryson and Rick! What a test that would be - and how much would I learn! Happy New Year, guys! Be safe!
Anyway, keep up the awesome work Rick
nothing wrong with the 3 wood. he probably just doesnt practice with it, such an awkward club to hit.
Bryson on youtube has been a great addition. How do you not love the guy? A national treasure.
You mean a Saudi national treasure
Honestly, he comes across as very calculated and a bit egotistical. Im not saying thats a bad thing, and likely the reason for his success. Personally, I cheer for guys like Tony F, Fleetwood, Victor and Scottie
I like the homage to Peter Finch and Matt Fryer's Record Breakers series where they have reactions to the score after each hole based on how they do. Great video, gentlemen!
This might be the best UA-cam golf video I've seen. Great fun, camaraderie and competition. BTW, @32:15 227 yard 7 iron. A problem we all have.
Bryson is such a top guy! My favourite golfer, great to have him on the channel
We can always count on Rick folding like a lawn chair in 10 shot challenges 😂
1:08:27 Why on God's green earth did he putt this??
Because he can't chip@@captaindein33
He's got the yipps with his wedges
Despite the short game "Lesson that changed my Life" he had a few months back with Dan. I suppose Rick's like the rest of us.... get a lesson, then don't practice anything you were taught.
Could you beat a pro?
Fantastic stuff. Bryson is so much fun, so supportive and encouraging. Rick played some super golf. Really loved this.
Remember watching Bryson in the masters 2016! What an amazing dude he is. Incredible golfer and such a nice guy. Everything good for golf these days. Probably my favorite episode to date on your channel. Run it back haha🙏🙏
It's nice to see Bryson outside of his work. My view of him has completely changed. What an exceptional athlete and incredible sportsman👍🏼
The more I see of Bryson the more I like him. A genuine guy with a huge love for the game.
Damn I don’t want to comment negatively but Bryson makes so many underhanded comments,
Makes it difficult to like the guy
I agree. He doesn't need to be this condescending. Yeah the guy hits a long way, but he doesn't have to be an ass about it.
Not bad from Rick. Bryson is a top 5 golfer in the world right now. Almost won the Masters, came in 7th but was leading for 2 days and just came in 2nd in the PGA championship. Not bad to play him at a tough long course and tie with 10 shot differential to start.
Of all the rematches I ever want to see it's 'Rick vs Bryson 2' good effort Rick and well done we were all behind you..
What a video! I must say your best to date Rick. I’ve never paid particular attention to Bryson’s channel yet but my god what a guy! Can’t wait to watch round 2 already!!
At 8:14 I was screaming “just a little outside of your back foot!!”👏🏾
Imo These are so much more fun to watch than actual events. No caddies no commentators just 2 guys playing golf. Saying “nice shot” and cracking jokes
Thanks for taking me in that round and what a great course to test you both
Great way to watch golf...love all the banter, Rick is playing for all of us.
Absolutely loved the intro, probably my favourite video coming from you guys. Can't wait for the next video!
One of the most entertaining episodes you've ever put out, Rick. Great job. You need to have Bryson on more often.
Getting exposure to Bryson via FB has really made him a fast favorite golfer of mine. Rick, amazing content as always. Can't wait for the rematch!
One of the best you’ve done. Great insight into Bryson’s routine and way of thinking about his shots.
Epic editing, the motion portrait recaps are amazing. Real entertaining golf 👏
Heck of a match, and what an ending! Looking forward to Round 2.
bryson makes golf so simple! love it! great content rick!
From the time I picked up a golf club I was always a Tiger fan. I am still a Tiger fan but Bryson has quickly become someone I root for. I have seen his content with some of my favorite UA-cam golfers (good good) and now Rick. I love how these channels have made golf accessible to so many
Thank you Rick Shiels for being so classy, your merch advertisement for club-head putter cover is all you need.
13:10 - best Brent moment ive seen in a long time! thanks for that Rick, so funny!!
Really love the editing on the scorecard after each hole!
Finally, waiting for this collaboration for some time. UA-cam Gold. Favorite 10 Stroke Match.
Best one so far Rick, well played! Wasn't really a fan of Bryson, but this has changed my opinion massively. What a good guy. Thank you.
