    I agree completely that kit doesn't make you better - you do. Having said that - it CAN inspire you to BE better. I upgraded to a DenonDJ Prime 4, and my game has improved a lot. Because I am empowered by knowing that anything I can think of - this thing can help me do it.
    That said, you can absolutely be incredible with a DDJ-400. Get what you can afford, and enjoy what you do!

    The biggest issue I’ve found was that joining a record pool requires you to have some sort of dj credential I.e. a Facebook account or Instagram account. And when you’re just a beginner DJ without a Dj name because most of which you think of is taken or you just do it for fun for small parties with friends then it’s difficult to join one. Like for instance dms, bpm supreme, clubkillers they all require it. And when you’re starting out trying to try out different styles of music it’s difficult.

    I find that too many DJs both new and old forget that we are supposed to be entertainers. When I go out and see other DJs play my friends often give them a grade of only C despite the nice gear and system that many of them have. What my friends are saying is that most of these DJs seem the same and are only average. I like to stand out even if it means doing things differently.
    I sometimes tell my friends that I "dare" to play different music than other DJs. Dare because I know that I am taking a risk by not playing to chart toppers or hits.
    The other things that I notice is that many DJs seem and look bored or boring. A female friend who went to a party with me last month commented that the DJ was the most boring person in the club. She was correct. Dude was stiff, never smiled, clapped or anything. He was too mechanical.

    • @djcarlo
      @djcarlo  5 місяців тому

      Indeed! It's a nuance that differs per region and club, but we are still entertainers through and through! Especially nowadays, when the spotlight is on you at the clubs, the DJ really needs to show that they're also here to bring the good times! :D

  • @mintomax2
    @mintomax2 Рік тому +1

    Great video. Does mixed in key analyse your tracks and beat grid more accurately then Dj Software as I found Serato inaccurately beatgrids between 10 and 20% of songs and checking every track and correcting where necessary takes absolutely ages.I totally agree about record pools I would add that unless you are able to browse tracks before signing up (which you usually can't) then get the shortest sign up period as depending on what kind of music you want to dj with certain record pools will not be the right choice for you even if their advertising suggests it would be great for you. Most record pools while they may do many styles will strongly lean in one direction for the majority of stuff available also don't assume because tracks are listed with them as one genre that this is always accurate I have noticed genres like Minimal, tech house, deep house a lot of the time will include huge amounts of tracks that defiantly do no fit what these genres truly are.

    • @djcarlo
      @djcarlo  Рік тому

      The beatgrids is something I haven't really checked hard on, so let me get back to you on that! I'd say it still highly depends on the tracks

And how do you make the 2 songs mix without messing with the cue points to much?

    Hi DJ Carlo! Can you download the music in BPM Supreme as an Mp3 saved to your local drive and not only in the song library?
    And when you subscribed, is there an additional cost when you want to download the track?
    Thank you and you're a big help to all beginners like me.

    • @djcarlo
      @djcarlo  2 роки тому +1

      Hey Vince! Love the YT username hahaha. When you subscribe to BPM Supreme, you get full access to their library and you can indeed save the mp3s to your local hard drive. The file is essentially yours forever, at no extra cost per download. You're only limited by your subscription length! Do note that there's a 3 time download limit per track, just in case your net decides to start half stepping on you mid download.

    I recently bought my first mixer, a DDJ 400, and I need some advice. When I'm mixing in the next song and slightly miss the drop I try to use the jog wheel to slowly adjust and sync the songs, at first it works fine, but suddenly it jumps way off the mark. This happens a lot. Is it a setting that I don't know about? Is it because I am continuously moving the wheel, instead of "jogging" it small increments at a time? Its really frustrating, as I barely miss the drops and I can't time my cue points correctly, either. To anyone who helps, thanks in advance!

    • @ItsDrillz
      @ItsDrillz 2 роки тому +2

      You need to be careful not to touch the top of the jog wheels, which will scrub instead of slow or speed up. I have a DDJ400 and that's my best guess as to what's happening to you. You can move your hand around the outside of the jogwheel in a continuous motion, but this puts your finger close to the edge of the top of the jog wheel, so keep a curve in the finger when you move toward the top of the mixer so the rotation does not cause you finger to make contact with the top of the wheel.

    • @PaulOnMars
      @PaulOnMars 2 роки тому +1

      @@ItsDrillz Thank you. I never even thought of that! It's probably the issue.
