@Jacob Peterson Even the best ‘talker’ can’t elevate a shit script. These people are sent to training centers and made into cardboard cut-outs. If those centers are making them this way something as simple and inane as “just talk better” ain’t applicable, Mr.teammaga.
That's funny, I am a new Cornette fan, and going back to listen to older uploads. He's listened to you guys because nowadays he is all about reviewing current shows! And it's regularly more entertaining than the shows themselves hahah
@@bigburgerstudios It’s so good. Prolly the best Shawn impression. Shawn prolly woulda been better off if RVD asked him to pick a hand back in the day, might’ve knocked that lazy eye back on track.

Just as one of the only good things to come out of the Star Wars prequels was the Plinkett reviews, one of the few good things about Raw 25 was Cornette and Last pissing all over it.
Honest to God, Jim's booking of a 'Big building to small building' or vice versa was actually a stellar idea. Having now heard it, it seems unfathomable that it wasn't done. Jim's idea of using Matt and Bray was a stroke of genius. It could have been a running segment through the night as they slowly go from one end to the other..
It's a stellar idea because it's been booked already. Jim has always taken water from an old old well, he's just the only doing it now so it all seems new.
Cornette's idea for Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt to brawl from the Manhattan Center to the Barclays Center was better than anything the WWE writers have come up with in years.
Brian switched with Jim for this podcast. Corny was mostly calm and cool, and even gave the show some high points, while Brian completely pissed all over it.
Brian Last and Jim Cornette nailed it here. I am a life long WWF/E fan who has been listening to a lot of shoots and podcasts recently and I was REALLY looking forward to this show. Looking for any excuse to get back into watching wrestling. Not only did this show waste all the old stars who came back it did NOTHING to make me want to tune in next week. Awful show.
Rob Babecki Been watching Wrestling since 1983, Raw is still good, but if your trying to find good wrestling and your just not feeling the WWE, watch New Japan...and if your not already listening to it yet check out Something to Wrestle With..
51:30 That is something I cannot fucking stand (the rare times I do check into watching WWE nowadays). Everytime there a bump, they have to zoom the damn camera in like if they didn't do that affect, the people at home would not "feel" it. It is overproduced, overscripted, and micromanaged to death, with none of the feel of unpredictability and spontaneity that made the first ten to fifteen years of that show great.
I always figured it was a tactic to mask some of their moves, like pulled punches and kicks.. Ever since I had a seizure, that shit has been jarring for me to watch.
Theo Dious I think they might be doing the character because they don't realize how many people watching remember. But it could be the exact opposite, maybe they do know that a lot of people watching would make the connection. I just know that I've both read about, and seen with my own eyes, recycled storylines in WWE. So it makes me wonder if they feel they have enough viewers who weren't watching the original source material for the stuff to seem new.
Diminished returns are guaranteed with a 4 on 4 tag match. Especially when there are 2 commercial timeouts during it. Not much worse that you can book after the great opening segment.

What they should of done is split RAW 25 into a month long event. Each Raw in January should of been a big anniversary show with a different legend as GM each week. Wk 1. Austin Wk2. HBK Wk 3. Undertaker? Wk 4. Rock. Throughout the month show a famous RAW moment and have the former superstar that's in the video talk about that night, that moment, what they were experiencing/thinking. They also could of worked former stars in to the shows as guest refs, lumberjacks (Reigns vs Miz with all of DX as lumberjacks?!!), guest commentators, in ring segments like The Brother Love Show, ect. There's so much they could of done other than having talent come out and wave or just get shown playing poker backstage. You finish week 4 in the Manhattan Center, huge main event, babyface getting beat on by multiple heels near the end of the match, hit Hogans music, he clears the ring and the final episode of RAW 25 goes off the air with Hogan and the babyface posing in the ring with Real American playing.
I agree with jim on a lot of what he says, but miz is so underated on the roster. Guys promos are always great and he's had some of the better matches over the last year
The Miz is average.. I can't say he can't wrestle but his style of wrestling is boring and he actually can talk given the circumstances of being scripted.. The Miz away from WWE can actually talk well and I think he can be someone's manager better than him being a wrestler.. My opinion..
100% dude does not look like a wrestler, never had a good body and isn't actually that good on the mic. Stand him up against the 90s talkers and there'd be zero contest, he should be a manager not a wrestling.

What's really sad is that Jim Cornette is coming up with more creative material after the show is already over and done with, and what's even more sad is that I was actually looking forward to this show, and it was the most lackluster episode of Monday Night Raw I've ever seen, especially it being a anniversary show. You've got to be kidding me, this is the absolute best they could come up with? Absolutely ridiculous, they are just doing everything they can to completely drive away fans who've followed this show and the overall product. I'll be lucky to see if there is WWE programming in 10 years.
I feel that the 1000th Episode of RAW was alot better as a show than the 25th Anniversary one because it had better matches involving Legends such as Vader and Lita. But the Steve Austin Segment of RAW 25 was the only good thing about the show. Man too bad Bret Hart wasn't at RAW 25 either but maybe him battling cancer had something to do with it. Also the DX segement was ok but not as good as Austin's. I laughed my ass off at the Austin Segment and how Vince was begging Austin not to Stun him by saying he was a Senior Citizen but Austin's facial expression told the tale that he didn't give a shit and stunned him anyways.
Of course this show sucked... what do you expect when you have Barney the Dinosaur, Dr. Nick Shizznic, and Thurston Howell III for your writers. Felt sorry for the people shelling out the cash they did to be there.
Jim's idea for the Wyatt vs Hardy match was fucking brilliant. A whole team of writers and they couldn't come up with nothing for the 25th anniversary?!?!?
Brian hit the nail on the head about WWE and i agree they are a lost cause, Vince stopped caring a long time ago. RAW 25 was trash, just more old guys brought out for cheap pops and the young talent pushed to the side again, matches were crap the DX seg commentators talking twaddle instead of focusing on the match and whats going on in the ring, crap production with camera work that makes you feel ill watching it and no forward thinking just a lifeless company. I have no faith in HHH and Steph taking over as both are huge egomanics, just sell to Fox or Disney.
I haven't watched WWE since Taker retired. When I heard he was showing up I tuned, but outside of him reminding us who he is, nothing much else to it. Turned it off, sipped a shot of N Rubbens and watched some old Iron Chef, Sakai, Chicken battle ep.
Thor Boysen Bliss hasn't really been that great and has simply been given titles for not much reason at the expense of burying other talent (while paradoxically being booked like garbage).
Yes...! You are right about Asuka. She is indeed better in the ring! But here is the problem. When it comes to promos Alexa would kill Asuka...!!! And Alexa did improve since her main roster start at Smackdown! And finally we must admit that Alexa Bliss is way more over with the fans...!!! Even as a heel! She sells a ton of Merch...!!!
Thor Boysen I haven't seen her cut one memorable or good promo since she's been on the main roster as for being over while I won't question that if you want your champion to be over and look good maybe you shouldn't do things like have them get beaten up by a heel stable for no reason then do no follow up or have her get laid out in the ring by another chick after she cuts a promo on said chick who she allows to get in the ring figuring nothing would happen
Tony Kennedy well he would of have... why? There wasnet 2 I.C champs! They force feed us anyone else we wouldnt be having this convo.. miz gd on the mic but he not a great wrestler
I think one think the Miz has is something you can't teach. He really does seem like a douche and that makes him believable. Jim says he doesn't buy the Miz as intimidating and I can get that but to me the Miz is a great heel. His work is decent too. People give him a hard time because he used to be truly awful in the ring.
I think Miz is solid, I just think he’s lacked a good rival for us to care. Get a baby face over and let Miz keep screwing him and you love it. Miz is an awesome heel, but it’s hard to mad about him when there’s nobody you care about chasing him for the belt. Just my opinion.
I agreevwith Jim Cornette on whst he said on the Undertaker. Should have done his regular entrance, and/Or had him come out as the American Badass Taker, since they recently retired him.
I would suggest that a late injury or altercation between talent and administration is what led to the expedient of the poker game being the main event. That's spacer, meant for a stopgap, when something goes wrong.
Damn, Cornette must have had the sound turned down with the entire crowd chanted "Walk With Elias!!!" he was one of the (very, VERY) few bright spots on that 3-hour shitshow.
Is Broken Matt on WWE now? I've been off WWE for around a decade. Also, time-stamps in the description for when different topics are being covered would be nice so listeners know where to skip to what they're most interested in.
Because a WCW flashback would remind people of TNA/globle force? i'd o had a WCW flashback attack and the help of a new a new stable "the wolfpack" to lead in to weekly programing would sell. The new wolfpack are heels, new guys that miss thee old WCW and want revenge on HHH and the mc mans.
Roman was great with the shield, but he should’ve either had him either win the rumble the year he was over, has him stay in the mid card awhile after the breakup, or stayed with Rollins as his security instead of J&J.
This is a really entertaining review, and sounds like Corny was giving it a fair chance too. Think he's a bit rough on Taker's promo skills. I think he's quite strong on the mic. But have heard that promo was pointless.
The pop Austin got on this show was deservedly nuts. He's the fucking 🐐. You turn this show off after that segment and it's a 7 star classic episode. 😭😭😭
No, Jim, you are not alone. It was bad. I am a huge Cornette fan, and I feel that if he were a regular viewer that he would have already suffered either a stroke or massive heart attack by this point. Unfortunatly, JIm, this is the best they have done in quite sometime. And it took a huge amount of nostalga that was poorly used to accomplish it.
Everything Corny said about Miz is what I've been saying since I first saw him: he doesn't look like a legitimate threat to me...n I don't mean perspective-wise, I'm saying I think I can whup his ass all over the ring.
Brian went full savage!

It's like WWE have the same writers who wrote the Last Jedi, they must be on the same team.
Bloodsport1 my expectations got diverted
bliss is 5 ft of fury
Damn, Cornette must have had the sound turned down with the entire crowd chanted "Walk With Elias!!!" he was one of the (very, VERY) few bright spots on that 3-hour shitshow.
OllieByGolly Elias is the most consistently over guy on Raw.
28:57 you don’t hear Brian say that anymore 😂😂
"It doesn't matter if Matt Hardy just got broken, or woken, why he couldn't have been beaten, or weaten" lol I love corny
Is Broken Matt on WWE now? I've been off WWE for around a decade. Also, time-stamps in the description for when different topics are being covered would be nice so listeners know where to skip to what they're most interested in.
56:15 hilarious 😂 cross eyed goof
Brian’s rant at 52:11 hit me square in the funnybone! Laughed so freakin hard at that!!!
No Hulk Hogan, no Rock, no Sting, no Bret Hitman, and no NWO. Bischoff was there why not
do a WCW flashback?
Because a WCW flashback would remind people of TNA/globle force?
i'd o had a WCW flashback attack and the help of a new a new stable "the wolfpack" to lead in to weekly programing would sell.
The new wolfpack are heels, new guys that miss thee old WCW and want revenge on HHH and the mc mans.
Hogan,NWO and Sting have nothing to do with Monday Night RAW
Because he wanted it to all be about Raw and Raw only.
BQ 6:13 All 3 were featured prominently on multiple RAW episodes, but yeah totally unrelated.
55:43 ,wow brian last predicted this thing ,4 yrs back
Gotta say hearing Brian go off on the Bayley thing was just so great
Cybele Ophis almost like the other bryan
Taker died when the streak died. It pissed the fans off beyond return for the end of the character it was the last thing to really care about
Austin's part was good.
what did he say?
Frank D. Garrett , nothing. Just gave out stunners to Mcmahons.
First raw i watched in years
it felt so....un-natural...
Mister Vintage it reminded you why you stopped watching ?
Daniel Espinoz yep, reminds me why I gave up in 2014
+Mister Vintage
Same here. It was boring and in all honesty, I gave up in 2005 and I was reminded why.
I'm so sorry
original bullet club was gallows, Anderson, and styles
Jeff Hardy, Flair, Miz and Seth Rollins were all at the Manhattan Center
I like how Brian was the one to get angry. It even surprised Cornette lll
Raw 25 absolutely sucked as a show.
You can't have great, legendary on air talent from days past do their thing! What would it make the current roster look like, lol
And great story, Jim. I'm another old time Sci-Fi fan.
should have had a raw gimmick battle royal for the legends
When I saw Dana Brooke the first thing I though was Terri Runnels in WCW. Lol nice Jim
Love it Corny, got the Live Aid Phil Collins reference
Roman was great with the shield, but he should’ve either had him either win the rumble the year he was over, has him stay in the mid card awhile after the breakup, or stayed with Rollins as his security instead of J&J.
Wow, Cornette praising Heyman!!!
Around 46:00 btw
This is a really entertaining review, and sounds like Corny was giving it a fair chance too. Think he's a bit rough on Taker's promo skills. I think he's quite strong on the mic. But have heard that promo was pointless.
Taker is strong on the mic but even he falters as his Wrestlemania 25 promo illustrates.
The pop Austin got on this show was deservedly nuts. He's the fucking 🐐. You turn this show off after that segment and it's a 7 star classic episode. 😭😭😭
Surprised he didn't recognize Blackjack Mulligan ' s grandson and Larry the Axe Hennig ' s grandson coming out with the Miz.
Just got my I'm a him cornette guy shirt. Thanks again corny. Get up the great work
"Bischoff points at his chin and leaves."
Lol!
Corny is the master. Imagine how good Raw 25 would have been with him as booker. They should employ him ASAP
No hat no gloves no tie that taker entrance was covered in wack saucex2sorry😔
Really astonished at how Corny couldn't understand how masterfully Elias was working the crowd.
Kry Kry Stott I just hope nobody ever says that about your parents.
The crowd was entertaining themselves
Dredbeauty Andrea Horseshit. That's the reaction he consistently gets.
Dame thing with randy orton.
Same thing with the Cucamonga Kids. I'm 192lbs after losing weight, and I likely outweigh them combined
The RAW 25th anniversary show was horrible because the WWE is not a wrestling promotion, it's a sports entertainment company.
Ambrose was the only member of the Shield that worked as a face
Yep, He was very with the crowd from 2014 to 2019
