    Unit does a very good job at cleaning the newly refinished pool Pool is a pebble finish with a touch of glass, therefor it is a little rough but the Dolphin does a good job. Time will tell if parts wear out.

    We are starting up the service side for our pool business this summer. Many of our pools have tanning ledges that accumulate most of the debris and are dead spots for customers' robot cleaners. We would like to use the Water Tech Precision 2.0Li to spot clean areas like this, but the tanning ledges are only 8" deep (the Precision requires at least 12").
    Would you recommend using a blue tooth enabled robot device like this to cover these areas? Just trying to find a timely option to spot clean these shallow areas and move on to the next customer.

    My pool is surrounded by coastal live oak trees. The leaves never really get soggy or breakdown. Because of this my suction side cleaner (hayward navigator) doesn't really cut it. What is the best robotic pool cleaner for cleaning up leaves?

      @SPL  7 років тому

      This one did a great job on leaves in my testing. They have three models of the S series for each budget size. The S300i is the high end of course.

      would you recommend the s300i over the Polaris 9650iQ Sport?

      Tough choice. Both work exceptionally well. I've tested both and am equally impressed.

    What would be the best option for an in ground plaster 25,500 gallon pool? Our biggest challenge is the algae that is constantly accumulating. We cannot seem to keep it at bay. We have a sand filter.

      @SPL  7 років тому

      Before investing in a cleaner it seems you have a water quality issue. There are products on the market that will help combat constant algae issues like Pool RX. A cleaner will help pick up the algae but it is best to eliminate it completely. The Sand filter is probably one reason but it could be a number of issues coming together to cause the algae to form each week. If you have time you can describe your pool and water readings - best to just email me from my website in that case.

      Sounds like you need to shock your pool by keeping the FC (free clorine) high until things clear up. Not hard to do. Google "pool shock fc".

    I bought the Dolphin s200 last year and it has worked great until last week. When I turn it on it moves and lights up 6 times and then cuts off. I took it apart and cleaned out all the hair around the blade. Now when I turn it on it flashes 9 times and cuts off. It does sound like something a moving around when I tilt it over..maybe a rock..but I’m not sure how to get to it. Do you have any tips on what I can do?

      At this point, I would take it into a local pool store that sells and warranties the cleaner. It comes with a 2-year warranty.

      Thank you...one other quick question..the pool store I bought it from says they charge $40 every hour they have to spend working on it..even though it is covered under warranty...is that normal?

    • @SPL
      @SPL  5 років тому +1

      It depends on how the 2nd year of the warranty is worded. If it says it is a 2 year bumper to a bumper warranty than it will cover parts and labor for 2 years. If it says the 2nd year is parts only than labor is something you would pay for.

      The motor on these fail pretty easily. I would bet the motor needs to be replaced.

    So which is better, S series or DX?

    • @SPL
      @SPL  4 роки тому +1

      They are almost identical now. The DX5i would be in line with the S300i

      There are some specific models made for vinyl pools. You can find them on their website.

    Mine gets on the pool island step and stops when it falls over.

    I have the model that's one step down from this one, the Active 20. Love it. If you want to save some $ you can get this model and give up the cart, phone app, and secondary interior filter that the s300 has. Also, Dolphin has many models that are just rebranded. My Active 20 is the same as the s200 and Doheny's Discovery, to name just a couple. While most models need to be bought from brick and mortar stores, some can be bought online. Lot of good info at troublefreepool dot com. Check out the "Pool Cleaner" forum.

      Kevr The Active 20 would be two steps down. The Active 30 would be one step down. Also the i series has more in app features than the rest of the 300/30 or 200/20 models. More cleaning modes and and options for cleaning length. You can check my videos for more details
