I like how you used the monitor in the background as a canvas for the text animation. I thought that was really clean looking.

Adam I just got a refurb m1 max pro and sold my imac pro 2017 (and instantly was amazed at how fast m1 is vs intel) but yeah need a large display now so I just ordered one today since I trust your review as a fellow digital artist who deeply respects your work. Thank you hope it works out well!

BenQ makes great affordable monitors for creative professionals. I'm sort of waiting for them to update their top of the line 32" (SW321C) model to finally go to a 32" 4K one.
As for the LG Ultrafine, I agree. I think many Mac users liked or preferred that monitor was mostly because it was 5K compared to 4K, so you'd get an exact 2X in the MacOS UI. Aside from that, nothing much more for creatives.

    afterthought.
i first was concerned about where i could get the monitor repaired if the power failed. As rare as it might be, it has happened to me when i lived up the way from a substation. Brownouts were frequent and blackouts, in less than a year....poof! However, the city finally upgraded our power lines and our building upgraded its breaker boxes. Another reason to have an external power brick, less weight i

I have 35 years of working with computer graphics and have never experienced such a thing. Even on older technologies like CRT monitor and those old green phosphorus monitors. So I don't think that is something you should be concerned about. Unless you're e really unlucky person to have that happen twice.

Thank you for the review, Adam. I've been torn between this monitor and BenQ's 32" 4K Mobiuz monitor that you previously reviewed. I prefer the aesthetics of the PD32 along with it's much better color modes, but I also am an invested gamer, and anything less than 120Hz would be unideal... Decisions decisions. 🙃

I just bought this monitor for my M1 Pro Mac and found it incredibly dim. At first I thought the backlight wasn't up, but it was at 100%. This is the dimmest monitor I've ever used. I work in a brighter room and struggle to read on it. even with the blinds covering the window. Am I missing something? I feel like I just wasted my money.

@AdamDuffArt - Love the comprehensive review. Thank you. QUESTION: You mentioned ample desk space. I work at a desk with a corner section (IKEA). How far back would you say is a good distance for this monitor to sit from the eyes? My current view of my 27" iMac is about 30" from the screen. Would pushing it back to maybe 32-33" be possible? I just don't want to pass up the 32" because the price is so close to the 2725 model price right now/

Hi :-) I am looking for a new screen for one of my music setups (I use a Mac Mini M1) I actually have two setups both have a M1 Mac Mini. I just bought teh BenQ PD3420Q (NOT 4k) and I love it! So now I am looking for one more to go with my second setup! I tried the new PD3205U but I was not super impressed! But it is newer compared to the PD3220U and cheaper regarding price. Right now I am trying a Dell ultrasharp 4k u3219q and I it great no doubt but will I be more impressed with the PD3220U ? On paper the Dell has better specs (but specs do not always tell what works for you) Am I right in that PD3220U was released in 2019 ? As I said i do not make film or do any foto stuff, but make music and I wnat everything on the scrren to look super sharp with great colors (almost like the new apples displays, but they are to exspensiv) Any thoughts ? What is the real difference between the PD3220U and PD3205U ? Sorry for the long message :-)

Hi Adam! Thanks for posting this. I'm looking at the 2725u and the 2700u and there's a price difference (about 430-840). Don't think the 2720u is avail now. Would the 2725u be the monitor which is closest to your experience with the PD3220? Just wondering if there's enough of a difference with the color to jump up in price. I'm an artist looking to upgrade my studio to something I'll be happy with for a while.

Wanna know why he just glanced over the speakers of the monitors? Because they suck. They're "Meh" at best, sounding pretty bland and boring, no color to them at all. It's as if they're an afterthought, which is why it's more meant for professionals in color correction. Only way I would know this is because I have almost the exact same monitor, the BenQ PD3200U 32" 4K. The monitor puck isn't as nice as the one Adam is reviewing, but it really is awesome for Color correction.

    Hi Adam (and everyone here),
Thank you for this great review and the amazing content, talks and thoughts you share in general. :)
I am a Graphic Designer and I'm looking for a monitor to pair it with my M1 Mac Mini and I was wondering:
Do you use the particular monitor for any printed applications? I know that the Adobe RGB coverage it's fairly limited (an unofficial 80% if I'm not mistaken.), but is it good enough for occasional printed projects in your opinion?
Although I don’t have consistent printed projects, when I do, I need the monitor to be trustworthy.. And monitors with 100% Adobe RGB coverage are significantly more expensive (with some exceptions from Asus.)
But to be honest I have my eyes on this BenQ for some time now!
Thank you in advance and I hope all the best! :)

Hello! I wanted to share something really important with you: the Gospel message. You've probably heard it before, but do you really know it? God sent His only Son to die for His people's sin. Why did He do that? To make us right with God. Why? Because God created the world, but then sin came in through Adam and we are all born sinners. We have all sinned against Him and are His enemies. However, God sent His only Son, Jesus, to die for His people's sin and make us right with God. We aren't perfect, but He was. So why does that matter? Withouth Jesus we're all going to hell. So what each of us need to do is repent of our sins and turn to Him, asking for Him to forgive us and save us. He gives us eternal life and peace. Through Him we can get to heaven. No one gets to heaven by themselves. I hope you don't ignore me. God bless you!
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
    Matthew 11:28
