If you’re only listening to Diva Dance, this version is one of my favourites, but in 2017, Dimash was on a Chinese show called Singer and did a pre-song of Confessa before Diva Dance and I love it. Не совсем так. Песню Плавы Лагуны исполнила Inva Mula - албанская оперная певица (лирическое сопрано). Но потом да, доработали на компьютере.
In the movie, it’s computerized, but Dimash is better than the alien in the movie. He even goes higher at the end. I agree, I've always thought that DQ version is better than the original and the end much better. 👏👋
An extraordinary feat indeed. However, this is not live, but a studio version recorded already in 2016. Dimash sings this song a semitone lower than the original and he simplifies several unsingable jumps from the original. But as you rightly say, he also makes some parts more complicated. The low part is an octave lower than in the original, and the D6 is Dimash´s add-on (the original ends on a B5).
Wait until you hear songs that Igor Krutoy composed for him, or when he sings originals.

He did three iterations of this Song, Baustau being the most perfect but confessa/Diva dance and the duet with Li Yugang Drunken Concubine/Diva Dance are all worthy to see. BTW Dimash was born pitch perfect.

The movie version used a synthesizer to enhance the performance. Dimash uses only his voice. And the E6 he hits isn't even the top of his range, and he can also sing lower than the lowest note you hear in this performance. Dimash's highest note we have seen/heard is a D8 one note OFF the piano! You have a lot more to experience on your Dimash journey.
You mentioned that he went from the basement to the ceiling. If you really want to see that you should see El Amor En Ti at Almaty concert. Dimash in black gives me chills (you’ll understand when you see it)!

First rule for Dimash: There is usually more than one version, it is always worth listening to and watching different versions. Second rule for future songs: I have learned from his music that it is often very important to understand the lyrics and also to know the context of the song. He is a complete artist, to get a “complete picture” you need all aspects. Yes, and for someone like you who likes movies, his music videos are all an absolute blast. You can find them on his UA-cam channel, as well as the live versions of them. The quality and versatility are quite unique. Have fun discovering them.

It’s called Drunken Concubine and it is from the Shanghai Spring Festival Gala in China. He sings with Li Yugang, a great Chinese Opera singer who usually plays a female in classic Peking opera. He is a very famous singer in China. That's why he's trained to sing so high. This nasal singing is traditional and he is a very famous singer in China. The two harmonize so well together. It’s really fantastic. I love it and I’m sure you will like it, too🥰.

Two other versions exist: Drunken Concubine and Diva Dance, and Contessa and Diva Dance at Singer Competition 2017. He had a sore throat at Singer and modified Diva Dance a tiny bit, but it’s still fantastic. The faces of his competition and the audience are priceless!

Dimash has been voice training with various voice coaches (to learn and improve on new techniques) since the age of 5...still voice trains at least 3 hours every day 💞💞💞
Additionally, he got formal music education and earned his double bachelors plus masters degrees in music...soon to become Dr Dimash with a PhD in musicology 💕🎼💖
He also used to do taekwondo and swim...currently still swims regularly (including long underwater swims) to improve his lung capacity and physical strength for singing 😍🎶🤩
Dimash takes his God Given Gifts very seriously and works hard to get this amazingly unbelievably great at his craft and artistry. I admire that as much about him as his singing...he truly has so many qualities to admire 🌹❣🌹

"THAT" part in the movie was electronically enhanced which if you listen to it again will have the sound of an electronic oboe. While some sections in the song WERE sung by a soprano (sorry--cannot recall her name at the moment), others were clearly not. And if it hasn't been mentioned yet, this was INTENTIONALLY composed to be IMPOSSIBLE to sing...not a clue why, though! It's also my most favorite part of this performance--A DISTINCT 11 NOTE DOWNWARD RUN IN A MERE 1.5 SECONDS, something I don't think even just my brain could accomplish.❤😯👏❤
