your surfing is always sick...you are one of the great surfers anyone has ever watched surf, no doubt.
but i'm really impressed with your sportsmanship and patience with the admiring crowd...you must have been tired, and hot standing in the sun waiting for each person to get their photo with you. i think that is a great example for the kids...they can learn how a great champion acts 'off' the field.

I'm 55, I still get barreled sometimes (confined to SUP cause I can't jump up normal after shafting my back and hip at Mav's) But watching your vids is a privilege. Keep going, stay positive. See one thing Nate might not know about me. His cousin is one of my best friends to this day. May not talk due to whatever is going on in his life in Cali! But I do know and understand what took place in their lives. Nate John Ivan and Alex worked to get where they are. That family is solid! Oh and I challenge Nate to Pinball. 😂

Scored m8, you were super lucky to surf PP on your own with a swell like that. I was there for 2 weeks up until 6 days before it was on, would really love to have been there for the comp. I surfed PP twice with only 3 or 4 other guys. I think people didn't look coz the tide was low, but there were some really high low tides of .9 & a 1m that was still fine for PP early arvo. Nothing like how you had it but so fun...good surfing man, love those top turns under the lip, 2 hand drag stalls into the barrel, you look so casual doing it, very cool. Guess pipe woulda been good training for ya. Didn't tell ya before, but I took a nice pic of you last Jan barreled on a bomb at pipe : )

watching some of the bottom turns in the cross chop, i was thinking the round pin was too much board a couple times, but you stuck with it, so i'm sure it was the right call. it is nice that way you guys carry pyzel, i like to see the dedication. i think he really appreciates it as well. i hope he will take advantage of his '15 minutes of fame' to really think of how surfboard manufacturing processes can be advanced, and the possible performance advancements as well...i have a beef with what these guys send you into 50 waves on...it's NOT the highest possible performance surfboard, it's the highest performance surfboard that is currently able to be mass produced....that's a difference i don't think is worth anyone's life.
the current crew of big wave surfers are putting themselves in places no surfer has ever thought possible, and we are talking about a lot of surf heroes when we say 'no surfer'...i know we can be putting you athletes on better equipment, but we are ignoring that for some reason...and it's pissing me off.
