This part of the game is REALLY telling of Porky's character. He's an evil Mastermind who's stuck in the past, not able to move on from his worst enemy who, let's face it, died at least a hundred years ago of old age. The man can't move on from his rival, making the dead man and his adventures an entire room tht is needed to pass through to get to his room
The boat ride section itself is very reminiscent of the moments in EarthBound like the concerts and the Tessie Ride where you’re supposed to take a moment unwind and enjoy the music.
The deepest part about this is that pokey took the time to bring all these items from ness’s adventure and kept them for an eternity. It shows that maybe he misses ness.

Remember, this is at the very end of Mother 3. Even though Mother 4 is on its way, Itoi planned on having only 3 games. This part, imo, is a tribute to the past 2 Mother games, showing that this series is coming to a close. This part makes me sad tbh

Am I the only one that nearly/ did cry when watching this? This is so nostalgic, even tho I haven't played it yet. I first got interested in Earthbound/ Mother where most people find out this stuff exist: SSBU It all started when I played a stamina spirit battle, you can probably figure out where this is headed. If you don't, pretty much, if you play as Ness and spam Side Special, you trap people in a PK Fire loop. Great for stamina battles. Then I tried Lucas, then wanted to get every Earthbound/ Mother collectables. Including spirits. Then decided to look into it alot more, and watch play-throughs. I got ALOT more interested in Earthbound/ Mother the further I looked into it. If anyone's seen the Earthbound/ Mother2 music video about Pollyanna, then you know how much more nostalgic that is. Heck, one of my favorite enemy's is in Mother 3, The Ultimate Chimera, that one hit beast. So pretty much, my favorite game series. If you took your time into reading this, thank you. From what I've seen in the comments, this segment to a lot of people is best summed up as Porky/Pokey collecting things that Ness interacted with in Earthbound, giving us a vague assumption that deep down, Porky/Pokey still cares about Ness all these years later and that he kinda respects him in a weird sort of way.
Porky has no attachment to Ninten and his friends. Like he wouldn't keep items from random strangers, they're only significant to those who played Mother. Same with all the items from Mother 2, Lucas doesn't really care about them. Since he never witnessed those events. They only matter to us and Porky.
