Yikes. I was keeping an open mind but when I heard the adversary whisper to me..”see, you can go back to smoking and drinking and God will love you no matter what! It won’t affect where you land for all of eternity!” I took a huge step back. I had to shoot up a prayer to ask which parts of his opinions were true. I got my answer immediately. “The philosophies of men mingled with scripture” Any person struggling with addictions who doesn’t have a FIRM foundation in Christ will take what he said and use it as an excuse to give in to those addictions that block the light of Christ. We are here to be tested and tried because I guarantee that no one will be inheriting kingdoms or principalities unless you prove you are faithful enough and disciplined enough to handle that inheritance. Also, being gifted a mortal body is one of our tests. Can you treat it like the temple it is or will you destroy it with cigarettes, fast food and alcohol? God will still love you if you do but your eternal position will reflect that decision.

I mean, do you really think God *actually* cares about him smoking and drinking? Didn’t Jesus drink wine? Didn’t Joseph Smith drink beer? I don’t personally smoke or drink, and I think they’re bad habits, but I don’t think I’m any more righteous or loved because of it. But that’s just me, I guess.

Awesome stuff. Heavenly Father know each of us. My story started in the womb being 26 weeks early with my twin. He came out healthier than me. I was very sick after our blessings it switched he got worse and I got better. His blessing stated he completed his mission and had to go back to our father's presence. Mine stated that I was to complete a mission assigned here and had work to do. My lineage is different from everyone in my family. I survived death 3 times, have had sacred experiences, and wouldn't change a thing. I know this church is true and the gospel is true. I cannot deny it. HOW CAN WE DENY PRIESTHOOD POWER?

@h.r.1523 I feel him with me off and on. Twins have a strong bond. I feel him with me in the Temple specifically. My late mother who died when I was 7. Her wish was for me to serve a mission. Which I completely in northern Chile. I wouldn't change it all. I feel like when we go through trials, tribulations, and suffering in this life. We get a glimpse of understanding the Saviors suffering in Gethsemane. We have our own experiences.

Those life changing cross road experiences. I remember being addicted to drugs, alcohol and partying. I remember I ws selling drugs in the night clubs and it was about 4 am on a Sunday morning I was with a younger nephew who was sleeping in the back of the car. I remember opening the middle console of my car to see if my drug bags were still there. All of a sudden my life flashed and I heard my self in my head say " what are you doing" in that very moment I stopped everything. It was a life changing moment. He meets with the bishop once without having ever been to church before and never having repented of anything and then all of a sudden he gets a temple recommend and a mission call out of nowhere? Then his MTC mission president had Jesus come to him to ask him what happened last night and he just sends him into the field without any training? This is just way too fantastical.

The reason for mortality is to learn to love. As spirits, we didn't really understand love. The commandments, the Holy Ghost, the ordinances of the gospel, the priesthood, and the life of Jesus Christ itself are all tokens of God's love for us. Satan wasn't rebelling against God, so much as rebelling against God's love. The temple is necessary for us to understand the love of God. The secret to eternal life is not to sin without shame, but to love as God loves.

Went to the same high school as Bryan. Was also was called to the same mission (Auckland, New Zealand) as him a year or so later after him. He’s currently married to a woman from the home ward in Orem that I was raised in and knew. Nice guy. Remember meeting him for the first time. My sister was a friend of his high school girlfriend. Some of the Elders in the flat when I first got to New Zealand in 1990, when they found out I was from Orem, Utah, asked me do you know him? I said only through reputation alone, as I was asked by his former girlfriend to say hello to him when I got there. It’s true that our mission president was a visionary man. He was also incredibly inspired and tolerant. On reflection, I think Herschel Pedersen was sent by the church a lot of off color missionaries who would have been sent home otherwise by other mission presidents. Under him, and to his great credit, they could serve out honorably in their own way. I would like to hear more from Bryan Ferre.

I gotta say, the first half of this video was great! I disagree with so much that he said in the last half. The whole thing about there being no "bad" or "sin" then how does he explain away Alma 42:17.
I believe he's had some spiritual experiences but he sounds almost like my brother, god rest his soul. My brother was a rebellious youth. But after he turned his life around in his mid 20s he served a mission and was blessed with some amazing spiritual gifts. But my brother's problem was that he was prideful. Because of sinking so low then coming back from the brink of destruction and having amazing spiritual gifts, he thought he knew more than others.

The lamp of the body is the eye and if the eye be single (to the glory of God) the whole body will be filled with light. -> we judge what we SEE. And the result - is EMOTION. So a judgment that is anything other than giving glory to GOD causes us to experience emotion that contributes to darkness. So the key is -> Acknowledge that ALL Things are both created by God and give glory to God. That is the key to Christ Like Judgment and the way to free yourself from darkness.

But they like to say if you remove those things and look at yourself as a God all is good. President Pinegar was awesome, so much intense spiritual situations occurred at the MTC. I was there in early 1990, and had a very memorable experience with one of my companions who was sent home from the MTC. He just wasn’t supposed to be there at that time. We had a similar Zone intervention with this young man, and took the experience to President Pinegar, who said that we couldn’t tell him that this Elder wasn’t supposed to be there. I told him that all we were asking was for him to talk with the young man. He did and later called me back into the office and actually apologized and said that yes, he needed to go home, and thanked us for bringing the concern to him. Was an amazing experience. One of my other companions lived near the MTC also, his grandmother lived next door, his house was visible from the campus and his girlfriend would drive past when we were walking and wave to him!

In the western world (Greek) we tend to think there is only one true (right way) to understand things. Applying this to scripture would mean that one symbol has only ONE meaning. However, in eastern cultures (Hebrew, Oriental and even some Native American ) I have learned that their languages are more like poetry. Applying this to scripture may mean that there are up to SEVEN layers of interpretation. These aspects may include our internal structure (as your guest highlights), a family, a government, a church, a nation, the world...

I can understand what Bryan is saying, but it is my understanding that we as Adam & Eve wouldn't have been able, or allowed to have children from that point, unless we were sent through the process of being mortal , and learn how to manage all the power we actually had . We wouldn't have appreciated the power & things put before us if we hadn't gone through this human process. I consider myself to be a very open minded person, and I can agree with some of his ideas.... but I can't agree about the tree of knowledge. I believe there's a great deal more to the tree of knowledge and what it's meant to represent.

I feel that it's completely disrespectful, and I cannot day that God would be narcissistic if he sent me here to learn and go through trials to find out if I would be a obedient child and choose the right. I really have a hard time bringing myself UP to Gods level or Him DOWN to my level. But that we have the same potential to become as God is!All things were created for our good... whichever way we choose. We experience the consequences of what ever that choice brings us. With the comment about looking at sin with the least allowance.......in the sense of the Word of Wisdom, the beginning paragraph initially said, "not to be used as judgement", why then are Bishops, and Stake Presidents using it to judge whether or not one is worthy to enter into the house of the Lord. Not following that to the letter of it's precepts does not mean that we don't Love the Lord, follow the Lord, and keep all of the commandments he has scripturally given us. Which leads us to feel unworthy (judge ourself). If one truly felt they were keeping all of Gods commandments and yet were weak with the things in the WOW, but still felt worthy, would they then be able to enter into the house of the Lord. Could the WOW be symbolic of us doing those things that are not good for us when the knowledge we have tells us not to. Because Sugar is a great example, we know the damage it can cause, as well as many more. The other thought I had one time was that we are physically the body of Jesus Christ. He literally blew life (light) into us which was of his creation, his substance. So if we are the body of Christ (physically not metaphorically), every cell matters, hating out enemy would be like not liking our pinky finger and wanting to cut it off our own body.

Plenty of good stuff there about not judging oneself - to recognize the 'why' of our choices needs to be more elevated; but the conclusions are misleading. Ultimately we can't sin against the light we are given and that is what we are judged against; as the Father said - we will be our own judges in the end. “Oh, you want religion, do you?” ~Satan
Then with the observation, of the LDS , like the ancient Jews, answering: “yes, yea, yes, give me religion” and thus we are as Jacob describes:
14 But behold, the Jews were a stiffnecked people; and they despised the words of plainness, and killed the prophets, and sought for things that they could not understand. Wherefore, because of their blindness, which blindness came by looking beyond the mark, they must needs fall; for God hath taken away his plainness from them, and delivered unto them many things which they cannot understand, because they desired it. And because they desired it God hath done it, that they may stumble. (Jacob 4:14).

If its all made up then why the restoration? why the first vision? Why bother with any learning at all?
Well - after studying a lot I will agree with the basic feeling Bryan has regarding knowledge. It is so much better to be faithful and believing without lots of worldly knowledge even if that knowledge confirms the scriptures and prophets; Because its more satisfying to feel the burning of the Spirit than to try and piece together the specific thing that is right or wrong to do from knowledge. I mean are we supposed to be like the Anit-Nephi-Lehi's and get killed or like Moroni and conquer?

@@ZionMedia_ By the way I just listened to an episode of Talking Scripture that gives the true explanation and conclusion of what Bryan has said, but without the self-excusing 'eat drink and be merry' issues. On Talking Scripture they shared a quote by C.S. Lewis which explains how our sins and pains in this life will be turned to great joy or to make our time here like heaven to us; will make it become sweet to us - IF - If we have turned to the Savior and repented sufficiently to become commandment keepers.
Its at 48:52 into their Episode 281.
That is the true interpretation of Bryans process of knowledge. It bothers me that we would use an uplifting truth to try to escape accountability or I wouldn't go on here. Mercy cannot rob justice.
But I wouldn't want to be too discouraging either nor get too wordy here so the better conclusion is: Everyone is equally valuable (equally loved from the Savior down to Judas) but not everyone is equally honorable; we never lose our value to God (his love for us) but we can lose our honor through sin and refusal to repent. This is what we really mean by 'worthiness' - its just a simple weakness of our language to have to explain it this way. We all know in our hearts that faith in Christ with obedience and repentance is necessary to obtain the Celestial Kingdom.

I liked your comment that everyone is equally valuable but not equally honorable. Honor is where God gets his power and it is what Satan sought but could not attain.

Yikes, he really mucked things up big time! The Plan of Salvation?...Done. No longer needed. Jesus Christ?...Done. No longer needed. Heavey Father?... Done. No longer needed. Every time he could have turned the podcast back to Christ...let's go a little deeper into Korihor's teachings. @trevorkeyes 59:41 finally a bit of pushback to his twisted gospel truths, where he had previous, at least an hour to spew and lie about things so precious. Holy Moly!
