I really want to get the minicat but I've never sailed. Are they easy to learn

Well, short answer is yes, they are super easy to learn and they do tolerate most of the beginners mistakes. I would recommend watching some of Joe Bennetts videos on UA-cam and then trying out one thing at a time yourself. Think about safety at all times, wear a PFD and always have people on shore know your plans and routines...carry a charged mobile phone in watertight pocket.

I've sailed cats almost all my life, I'm 70, they are great fun and if you start in a day of light winds you will find it easier and as you gain experience build in wind strength. Don't fear capsize, practice righting first .

I feel you...but I could easily swim to the shore, it was very close. Also, do note, that both tubes are literally - floating devices :) Am I off the hook? :)
