  • Hello! :) It's time for a flipthrough of my planners. In this video, I'll be going over my Sterling Ink Common Planner A5, my Sterling Ink Common Planner N1, my Hobonichi Weeks and my Hobonichi 5-year techo. It's a bit of a long one, hope that's okay!
Sorry for the bad audio quality in this video, I don't know what was going on with the mic...

Your videos are always so relaxing. I love how you decorate all your planners -- simple and neat.
Totally understand when things were too much and agree that journaling shouldn't be a chore -- so props to you to decide for what's best for you!! 😊
    Thanks for sharing!

16:25 - mood board... maybe swatch the mood with your favourite fountain pen inks, that might make you feel a little better on those grey, red, blue days 😄

Thank you for the suggestion! I like that idea a lot - the only downside would be that the ink swatches tend to bleed through the page (unless maybe I use very little ink, that might work). I like the idea though! 😊

Thank you for watching! The calendar is by Koyomi Seikatsu. I bought mine at Kuldlelu (a Finnish shop).

Thank you for sharing! I love your journals! I have been thinking about how to not use too many notebooks at once. I currently use a Hobinchi weeks and a dotted journal. I really enjoy how the Hobonichi weeks feels and the size of it.

Thank you for watching and for your comment! A Hobonichi Weeks and a dotted journal sound like a great combination. And I'm with you on the size and feel of the Hobonichi Weeks, I like it a lot!

Regarding starting from the back and seeing where they meet in the middle (I can’t find the timestamp😂) I actually do that for my Commonplace notebook. I figured if I can read Manga from right to left I’d probably have no problem setting up a notebook like that too.
I feel you on the media journal. I’m only tracking my books read but there was a moment I was putting so much pressure on myself to fill up pages and pages of notes where it was becoming a chore, and that’s the opposite of my intention. So now I just put the cover, my rating vs the public rating, a summary and jot down my quick thoughts on what I liked and what I don’t like. Went from an hour long process to like 15minutes and now I feel so much better and I’m still keeping up the habit.
P.S. Happy birthday to your partner hope you guys have a fun one. 🎉

I'm glad you found a way to keep tracking your books that feels good for you. Sometimes it takes a little reflection and experimentation to find a method that works well with your intentions. And nice to read that you write both from the back and from the front in your commonplace notebook! Are both "sections" on different subjects, or how did you make the distinction?
Thank you for the birthday wishes! He had a great birthday weekend! 😊

@@ruonpaper yes both “sections” are different subjects. I use a colored sticker dot on the corners to designate subjects. The left to right sections are for writing thoughts ideas and sketching (so a grey dot on the top right for writing, and a white dot on the bottom right for sketches). The right to left sections are for more “note taking” things on things that I need to remember like a short summary of where I’m at in a manga. I put a black dot on the top left for that. Makes it easy to thumb through to find something I need to reference while keeping things somewhat kept together “conceptually “ rather than mixing everything together and working only from left to right. So in the end when the book is filled only the right pages will contain ideas and sketches, while the left pages are only for memory keeping.

@@JonTheJotter Thanks for elaborating, this seems like a super useful way to combine multiple types of notes in one book. I like your use of dot stickers as well, very nice!

I really enjoyed watching you chat about your planners! I’ve been a little indifferent about using my hobonichi weeks as a work planner and you inspired me to try using it as a media journal! 😊
