  • In this video I scanned some mushrooms both in the forest and at home. The mushrooms were scanned using Reality capture and Agisoft Metashape, and repaired in Zbrush and scaled and positioned in Blender. Most of the scans were done in one pass with between 36 to 40 images, hence requiring some form of geometry fixing.
You get to see my process in both Zbrush and Blender and then the techniques I use to build my scene using Quixel and marketplace assets.

Amazing work and thank you for your guides. I find them one of the best on the topic of getting scan used in UE5.
I have the question: what do you think about using tags behind your scanning object on the black material to imrove alignment and have more information to get your images tied do? I heard latest release of RealtiyCapture supports AprilTags. And it still will be possible quite easily mask them out from the final result. To me it seems they may increase the stability of the alignment, especially for small objects.

Hi bud thanks for watching, imo and I may be wrong, the black behind acts as a natural mask for the images so should be krpt black. Ideally I should have kept the black shert a metre or so behind the object and the flash would see to it that the backdrop is completely black, either that or mask manually as I did with some outdoors images. I would have thought using tags or markers would be better if not using a turntable or a featureless object. I'm still using rc 1.2 though !

@@MrKams1 I gasped when you said 130-150 $ !! $1.30 - $1.50 is much more reasonable. Excellent tutorial. I love your Lazy Void. This makes me want to get back into scanning. Do you sell your models anywhere?

If i spend some time getting all these scans up to scratch with decent UV and texture maps I probably should sell them ;-) Thanks for watching dude! @@rossmaclean2
