Listening to coach Firas reminds me of the feeling you have when you are tired and almost giving up and you hear a voice telling you "it's possible, don't give up, you're gonna make it". So for all that thank you.

Firas is easily the best MMA coach in the world. He brings such a measured and cerebral approach to training his fighters.

How on earth would you know that? Which of the most notable coaches have you trained with?

Tim v1.0 I do train in BJJ but sadly have never trained with any top MMA coaches. His results speak for them self though. George St Pierre possibly the greatest fighter of all time. One of his students. Also Rory Macdonald who is in my opinion the best welterweight in the world is also one of his students. Just by watching his videos you can get a very small window but a window nonetheless of how he operates. He is most certainly is one of the top level MMA coaches and in my personal opinion is the best

I would love to see them scrap 170 and create divisions at 165 and 175. That way there would be a division every ten pounds from 125 to 185. They could let Tyron choose which division he wanted to move to, give him the best challenger, and then make a make (or a four-man tournamnet) for the other belt. For example, they could make Woodley vs. Gastelum for the 175 pound title, and something like Kevin Lee vs. RDA for the 165 pound title.

Hey Firas, I'm trying to gain more flexibility mainly for kicks but also for bjj. I remember you talking about dynamic stretching rather than static stretching. Do I need to be doing both to gain flexibility or can it be one or the other ? Just wanted to get a bit of clarity on the topic. Thanks !

    • @paulraysauve
      @paulraysauve 6 років тому

honest lee he gave some analogy how static strength like bench press, squat, deadlift alone is ineffective because your muscles move weight like a tow truck (linear and stiff) but I believe he said there’s are benefits to static stronghold like increasing bone density. So both of you could find a balance. there’s room to for both plyo and static .

I had really bad hand pain etc, fixed completely with stretching posture alignment stuff. I use his stuff regularly when I get banged up from BJJ

    Here is a question.
How can a ranked ufc fighter be proud of stopping a few takedowns in a fight? Other than that, he got demolished by Khabib. Al barely stopped Khabib's takedowns (and in the third and fourth round, Khabib was not really committed to do his chain wrestling) only about twice or three times while Khabib took him down 8 times including the last takedown in the final round and Al was down till the fight was over.
Are people that crazy to say Khabib has been exposed? Seriously??
Only thing Al did was stopping a few takedowns in the third and fourth round. And then, he got taken down again and was hopeless once again till the bell saved him in the final round. He got dominated both on feet and ground regardless of how pretty his boxing posture was. MMA is not a boxing period. Al is underestimated and his future as a fighter is bright. He is not just on the same level with Khabib at the moment.
Joe Rogan? Who once said Ronda Rousey would beat all of UFC male 135ers? Get da f out of here!
Khabib never fk lost a round in his pro career or at least he never fk was in a big trouble. His face was as pretty as it was before this fight. And he is like that in his last 26 fights period.
Joe Rogan should fight if he think he knows better than world class coaches like Javier and Faris. Both said Khabib's boxing was incredible.
    Floy mayweather chin up
    Machida in prime chin up
    Even Conor chin up
Obviously, he can point some flaws in some fighters, but the way he was criticising Khabib was disgusting. We all knew Khabib's striking is not like Conor's. But at the end of the day, Khabib never lost a fight while Conor lost at least 2 fights in his career, got finished.
Like Chael said, this is the sport "I hit you, I don't let you hit me" that's it. Khabib barely got touched by Al who is one of the best KO artists in lightweight. Boxing posture doesn't mean shit in MMA. Amateurish? what? then What Al's striking should be considered? Beginnerish? Disgusting and Joe Rogan is clearly biased. Tony's awkward style is creative while Kahbib is amatuerish? Joe Rogan must have a colored belt from 10th planet! Joe Rogan should get fired for things he has said. I mean we normal folks would get fired, if we made such big mistakes at work, right?
Joe Rogan really need to grow up and learn how to use his words more carefully because he has a position that can influences a lot of people in MMA whether its his intention or not. He has apologised for his stupid commentary but was it really an apology? It sounds like another lame excuse in my eyes.
Al is a great ko fighter with great wrestling. Khabib was outstriking and outgrappling him. So wtf is Joe Rogan talking about? Amatuerish? Are you fk serious??
You casuals and Joe Rogan followers should really need to assess yourselves better.
