Fatboy slim most famous track "the rockafeller skank" in the movie 10 things I hate about you. Fatboy Slim, real name Norman Cook, was a "big beat" artist in the mid-late nineties and the first part of the 00's.
@@TheRealityleak He's still going. Did a full set at Glastonbury this year, including Praise You featuring Rita Ora. Link is here: ua-cam.com/video/s2PFL7A1ODY/v-deo.html
Just when you think there is no more bar to raise... There it goes again!! From EMD to folk with an edge! Ren-dition the heck out of it. They even made the changes that are supposed to be in it with their voices! 😲 gobsmacked again Dom the word you where looking for = Zeitgeist ❤ Boyz loving your reaction again 💜💜💜
I'm a former DJ, and something I have always done is associate a song to a person that it reminds of. For example, my oldest daughter's song is Sweet Child Of Mine by Guns and Roses. Whenever I hear that song it reminds me of the person I care about deeply. There will be something about the lyrics, or maybe it was a time we shared. Whatever it is, it will be something meaningful and important, to me. When I hear this rendition of this song, it immediately put my wife's essence into my heart. This song became the song that reminds me of my wife. If you ask her, she would say it's pretty corny but this song makes my soul sing when I think of her, or hear this song. One of my favorite songs for life =)
Another fun reaction. "Englishman in New York" is a cover of a Sting song. Not sure if you guys already reacted to their Manu Chao cover of "Bongo Bong; it's awesome. "These Boots Are Made For Walking'/Satisfaction/Everybody" mash-up and "What Kind Of Woman Is This," are also worth checking out as all three take a turn singing as well.
Don is right about camping music. And this song would be great to add to my own mix. For some reason, I'd always listen to The Rolling Stones on my way to camp - and this version of this song reminds me of Beatle/Rolling Stones type vibes the way they did it.
It's so cool that both you BP and Don are so diverse in your reactions. It would be so cool if you also took a look at Romain Axisa - he has a track called Goodbye good days, which is so cool. Both purely visually but also musically
Gorran sure killed that harmonica! Do go for Englishman, you can make it a double feature with Sting first, (you can put a filter over it), and then The Big Push. Also, the legendary mash the boys did, titled "The Big Push - These boots are made for walking’ / Satisfaction / Everybody" (not leaving the link, but it's easy to find, it's the video with the washing machines 😂 ) And, yeah, I'd like to see BP's reaction to the original FatBoy Slim, too
Sting (The Police) An English man in New York. You'll love it 😊 And talking about running out of Ren material : there are tracks like 1990 and recordings on the channel busking on Brighton beach (BBB) Ren can be found all over yt 😂. This rabbit hole is getting deeper and deeper and deeper..... I do feel like Alice sometimes 😂
Great reaction and great song! I've heard the phrase "big push" can also refer to IV drug use. Would make sense, you inject your ears with his music and it takes you on a trip, and it always leaves you wanting your next fix. "Englishman in New York" was written and performed by Sting.
Such a brilliant cover and reaction Don & BP. I know the original song very well, but checked out the official video for the first time (not sure how i missed it in the 90's), and it's awesome. Early counterculture in the music industry. Very cool!
You guys should definitely check out more of their original music off of the Can do Will do album! All my heroes, Xbox marijuana, Mannequin, Radio! The whole album is fire!! And I still F with Keith sweat!! 😏
If you listen closely to all his lyrics, there's hints of who/what influences him. For instance, he references Leonard Cohen in 1 song, & LC's influence is evident in "How to be Me". There's hints all over of Ren's influences, he leaves bread crumbs everywhere. Also, THANK YOU for this reaction, I love this version of Praise You more than the original
This is one of my faves for the harmonies! So happy more reactors are watching it! Also you have to react to Swan Song by The Big Push. Shows of their harmonies and ANOTHER instrument Ren can rock!
Don you are 100% right about covers. The harmonica takes this from being excellent to jaw dropping. So much talent and hard work sitting in that hallway.
3 kings. Great Gorran s harmonica, great Romain vocal and of course the one and only Ren.Butt they are still three excellent vocalist.💟Thanks for yours reaction.
Preach, Don! You definitely have to add something to make doing a cover worthwhile. The Big Push always seem to add an interesting twist no matter the genre. I love how this one really celebrates their different voices. Was the word you were looking for zeitgeist? Or cannon? BP, go listen to the original! And Englishman in NY too. Chef's kiss
Off the Ren train, and on the iconic covers of iconic songs train, y'all should react to Disturbed's cover of Simon & Garfunkel's Sound of Silence...the Conan, live version. If you know the original, you will be blown away.
I agree Disturbed cover of sound of silence but for me the video version is more stirring with the visuals really impacting compared to the live version . Peace
Funny you should mention Moby - first time I heard Ren's song Hold On I was sure it was a cover of a Moby or Fat Boy Slim song. When I couldn't find it I realised it was an original
I see a lot of Manu Chao influence in Ren's work... You should react to Bongo Bong/ Je ne t'aime plus (it's Rap in it's own category). Ren actually made a mashup cover of it.
Bluesy/bluegrassy is totally the vibe I get from this track. I love this vibe and really hope that once Ren is back home, they get back together and put together some more blues rock tracks, especially since Ren is going rock on his next album. Talking about the soul in the harmonica... good harmonica is filled with it. What I'd absolutely love to see would be a duet between Ren & Romain covering some of the more ballady stuff from older artists like Elvis, Bing, and Frankie. The two of them can both croon with the best of them.
the big push version to me sounds like it was the orginal version and fatboy slims was a remix dance version i know fatboy slim did it first years ago ,but if you didnt know and heard them blind on the radio or in a bar ,you would think the big push was the first version thats how clean soulfull it is,id love to hear them do a led zep song or the buzzcocks i cant touch it ,
Great harmonies! I absolutely love this one! I love the shoe tambourines and the harmonica! Thanks for doing this one! I would love to see y’all do “What Kind of Woman is This?” It is another TBP mashup which is lots of fun! I think y’all would like it! Thanks for checking off a couple of my requests today! “Englishman in New York” was a Sting song. ✌🏻🫶🏻
Is is almost like a song that they can relate to and are paying tribute to with a cover of their own twist, this is a dope version, personally I like this better then the original
I definitely need to see a reaction from BP for the original Praise You (the official video too) now! Love the reaction by the way! But put your focus up there ⬆
Loved the original and I may even love this more. It sounds amazing and is always where I start when I fancy a bit of Ren on the stereo. Yeah, I still got a big old school sound system, the neighbours hate it.
Hey BP and Dom, This cover has such amazing harmonies and the natural swagger of these boys is so dope. Yes react to FatBoy he lives in Brighton too and is a really great DJ, singer and producer of dance and electronic tracks.
Ren pics great acoustical areas to perform. The acoustics in that hallway or tunnel with all the tile and concrete. It reminds me of the old doo-wop guys harmonizing in the bathrooms. I'm not quite that old but I've seen movies. Ha.
Wait...this song will get stuck in your head. At least it has in mine. Once i play this, it goes on repeat, all in in setting. Check out "do you believe." Beautiful song.
Actuallt it is a good idea having BP reacting to music he "missed". There is soo much good music out there and seeing you find it would be reliving the experience for us old farts
Fatboy Silim is a Brighton boy, he has a great docu about a free gig he did in Brighton Beach, about 150,000 more people turned up than thought would turn up. It's a very positive docu in other places they could have big problems, they drank Brighton dry, impressive.
At the rate you guys tackle new Ren songs and the rate at which he releases new songs, its mathematically impossible to run out of new Ren songs to react to. He has a ton of great songs - dive in!
That was awesome!! I love this. BP, I wonder if you're going to hear the original and realize you've heard it before. Great song, great Ren & friends, great reaction!
I'd def be down for you to react to the original Praise You, too. There's also 'Right Here, Right Now' and 'The Rockafeller Skank' which are worth doing, if you're not familiar to Fatboy Slims catalogue, though the latter 2 are more club stlye tunes, so idk (fun fact : The Rockafeller skank main sample is taken from the intro of a track by rapper Lord Finesse of Vinyl Dogs). Great reaction as usual, Guys. I agree with Don about covers, and that The Big Push do them right by adding their own flair. 🙂
For a cover that hits the level Don was talking about, you should react to the original The Sound of Silence (Simon & Garfunkel) and then Disturbed's cover.
Fatboy Slim actually happen across these guys in the streets doing this... liked it so much he filmed it and posted it on his Instagram page!!
Fatboy slim most famous track "the rockafeller skank" in the movie 10 things I hate about you.
Fatboy Slim, real name Norman Cook, was a "big beat" artist in the mid-late nineties and the first part of the 00's.
That had to be awesome

@piwaka50 Right!!! Fit in Perfectly! Better than alot of actors today! Lol
Just when you think there is no more bar to raise... There it goes again!! From EMD to folk with an edge!
Ren-dition the heck out of it.
They even made the changes that are supposed to be in it with their voices! 😲 gobsmacked again
Dom the word you where looking for = Zeitgeist ❤
Boyz loving your reaction again 💜💜💜
I love the way Ren is bringing all his Friends up with him
Super comment Don on what a cover should be. This cover by the Big Push is amazing.
I'm a former DJ, and something I have always done is associate a song to a person that it reminds of. For example, my oldest daughter's song is Sweet Child Of Mine by Guns and Roses. Fatboy Slim himself actually was at one of these recordings filming it...he loved it so much!
Paint it black is 🔥 too.
Another fun reaction. "Englishman in New York" is a cover of a Sting song. Not sure if you guys already reacted to their Manu Chao cover of "Bongo Bong; it's awesome. iirc BP even went further and listened to the original Manu Chao before hearing the cover, loved them both!
Goran Nailed it in this track!!! Would Love to hear him doing some Jim Morrison!!!
There is a busking video of him doing LA Woman
There’s a laundromat video starts off with these boots are made for Walkin as a mash up really good❤
I need to see this, link me please friend!
Harmony is pure 🔥
Don is right about camping music. And this song would be great to add to my own mix. For some reason, I'd always listen to The Rolling Stones on my way to camp - and this version of this song reminds me of Beatle/Rolling Stones type vibes the way they did it.
Adore this track!!
I agree with other comments Englishman in New York is awesome, got my notification on ready for this one x
Love this one so much! Ren’s voice at the beginning is 🔥
You'll have to do These Boots were made for walking that they do in the laundromat - once more they kill it.
It’s way overlooked so good
Absolutely love this one and Bongo Bong also.
Wow, theh really put a rolling stones type style on this one and i love it
Yes, react to the original Praise You and also Weapon of Choice music video featuring... Christopher Walken!
So glad you did this one. I love it!
This has been one of those tracks that pumps me up so much at the skate park, I love this tune. Glad you reacted to it.
It's so cool that both you BP and Don are so diverse in your reactions. It would be so cool if you also took a look at Romain Axisa - he has a track called Goodbye good days, which is so cool. Both purely visually but also musically

I agree on all of that! If they like to check out English Man, the Tiny Desk Version woth Shaggy is just awesome!
+1 here too
Rens opening vocals on this always remind me of the Rock voice used by a certain (young) Paul McCartney...
Sting (The Police) An English man in New York.
You'll love it 😊
And talking about running out of Ren material : there are tracks like 1990 and recordings on the channel busking on Brighton beach (BBB) Ren can be found all over yt 😂. This rabbit hole is getting deeper and deeper and deeper..... I do feel like Alice sometimes 😂
Love right here right now fat boy slim!!
Yay ,I love Praise You , notification on ready for this one
Great reaction and great song! I've heard the phrase "big push" can also refer to IV drug use. Would make sense, you inject your ears with his music and it takes you on a trip, and it always leaves you wanting your next fix. "Englishman in New York" was written and performed by Sting.
I missed this Push cover, soooooo good. They are all so talented. ❤❤❤
This is one of my favorite big push songs. The harmony is bonkers
The stankface is the correct response to Gorran's harmonica playing.
Awesome rendition with an 'Americana' twist! Works great with the lyrics!
Such a brilliant cover and reaction Don & BP. I know the original song very well, but checked out the official video for the first time (not sure how i missed it in the 90's), and it's awesome. Early counterculture in the music industry. Very cool!
Yes Englishman is Sting it’s Uber badass and the dog rules the show 🤘🏻

The big Push - swan song
you need to do the one in the laundromat? They do three songs and they all sing them at the same time it’s amazing. 🕳️🐷
They have a playlist on UA-cam music with 20 busking songs. absolute driving playlist. mentioning camping playlist is genius.
This is one of my faves for the harmonies! So happy more reactors are watching it! Also you have to react to Swan Song by The Big Push. Shows of their harmonies and ANOTHER instrument Ren can rock!
I was so excited to see this on your channel! I love it every time I hear it . 💜
One of my favourites, would love you to look up the original so you can see how different it is.
Super apreciative of your connecting reaction and music
He covered another fat boy slim track that I don't think you have covered yet. Right here, right now. its worth a listen.
The comparison with Moby is spot on, both sampled blues, gospel and soul greats. Homage in a good way.
Don you are 100% right about covers. The harmonica takes this from being excellent to jaw dropping. So much talent and hard work sitting in that hallway.
Pleeease do Precious by them. Dope song and video. It’s criminally underrated and one of my favorites✌️
3 kings.
Great Gorran s harmonica, great Romain vocal and of course the one and only Ren.Butt they are still three excellent vocalist.💟Thanks for yours reaction.
Their version of Stings 'Englishman in New York' is great......Also 'Swan song' is something completely different
and yet another Big Push genre.....
don't know which genre you categorise Swan Song, but I know I like it
I don't believe I've checked 'Swan Song' out.. _off to go listen_ .. thx ;)

Sting...The Big Push (Ren) version is just wonderful !!!❤
Facts this is a great song... ready to listen
Fatboy slim is also from Brighton...you should checkout rens cover of "right here, right now"
Great comments guys - love the 2 of you together .
My personal favorite!
I see a lot of Manu Chao influence in Ren's work... You should react to Bongo Bong/ Je ne t'aime plus (it's Rap in it's own category). Ren actually made a mashup cover of it.
They’re just all stupidly talented. Enough that they can have fun without worrying too much about getting it right cause that’s easy for them 😅
Rens vocals are top tier❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bluesy/bluegrassy is totally the vibe I get from this track. I love this vibe and really hope that once Ren is back home, they get back together and put together some more blues rock tracks, especially since Ren is going rock on his next album.

Pretty awesome that Fat Boy Slim praised them when he saw them busking.

Yes all day to What kind of woman is this!! It's 1 of my favorite cover mash ups by them!!
ren killed his verse.
English man in New York, originally recorded and released by Sting. The Police being one of Ren's early influences.
Is is almost like a song that they can relate to and are paying tribute to with a cover of their own twist, this is a dope version, personally I like this better then the original

😂😂 It's a Sting track called Englishman in New York very similar to this but closer to the original than this
The kings of Busking are Brothers Moving
This one is on my daily playlist!
I used to hear this song everywhere back in the day, my ex sang it constantly! 😂 and Moby as well
Loved the original and I may even love this more. It sounds amazing and is always where I start when I fancy a bit of Ren on the stereo. Yeah, I still got a big old school sound system, the neighbours hate it.
Sting wrote the original Englishman in New York. I think he was inspired by Quentin Crisp.
Oh, if you listen to Ren's English Man in New York and the original, you should definitely check out the Tiny Desk version with Sting and Shaggy ❤
Hey BP and Dom, This cover has such amazing harmonies and the natural swagger of these boys is so dope. Yes react to FatBoy he lives in Brighton too and is a really great DJ, singer and producer of dance and electronic tracks.
loved this one 💚🦠💚🦠
As people have said. It's a Sting song called "Englishman in New York"
I'm sure Don would know the original if he knew the whole title.
Was Stings song inspired by Quentin Crisp?

"Englishman in New York" is a song by English singer-songwriter Sting, from his second studio album ...Nothing Like the Sun, released in October 1987.
That was awesome!! I love this. BP, I wonder if you're going to hear the original and realize you've heard it before. Great song, great Ren & friends, great reaction!
I love this song by the big push.... You should react with Dom Bongo Bong the orignal ad the big push
I love the big push!
Dont think you guys have done his Fatboy Slim Retake yet. He does a RENdition of Right Here Right Now that is well worth a listen.
Their cover of Englishman in New York is better than Stings IMHO!!!
Checkout Ren X Chinchilla - Sexual Healing busking 🔥
The other fat boy slim retake by Ren is also superb... Ren- Right here Right now.... Definitely one of my many Ren favorites lately!
For a cover that hits the level Don was talking about, you should react to the original The Sound of Silence (Simon & Garfunkel) and then Disturbed's cover.
It felt like the Beatles in a way. You guys should try to react to them sometime
