The Big Push said that Ed Solo (a British disc jockey and record producer of electronic dance music) asked them to learn a Fatboy Slim song to play at his wedding, so they did. A few months later, they performed it while busking in Brighton and then "by some synchronistic freak occurrence the Fatboy himself walked passed, caught the performance, filmed it, and stuck it on his Instagram". Yo!
Yooo…..that’s a story!!!
Fast forward a few years and that will be Ren walking along the street and seeing buskers doing his tunes
Renosphere - what a perfect way to describe Ren and all the talented artists who he is associated with. Imagine a tour with Ren, big push, Sam, Chinchilla, Bibi etc. What a scene has emerged from Brighton.
I can’t wait to know who all those ppl are!! :)
@@michaelgoyettemusic One of the artists listed above, Bibi, does a very emotional song with Ren called "Crutch". It's a must review.
By the way, loved your guitar playing at the video intro. Yooo!!
Brighton has always had such a wonderful and diverse scene in every sence... It has all the draws of a capital, but is small enough to be able to walk home drunk (or sober {...but less likely}) from almost anywhere.
I now live in the absolute middle of nowhere, in an off grid cabin I'm building by myself in the Smoky Mountains...
But Brighton, and all my dear friends there made me who I am now and I will always love them.
@@antonymification212 that sounds exciting
@@S-oo2cu thank yo
The Big Push does an acoustic mashup of These Boots are Made for Walking, Satisfaction, and Everybody while in a coin-op laundry. It sounds way better than one might guess! Hope the Big Push can get back after it soon.
That sounds cool.
@@michaelgoyettemusic it is!!!
Romain was definitely rocking his French accent. Love when he sings in French in the Bongo Bong cover. So sexy! And yo, thanks for the great reaction!
Thank yo!!! I agree!!
Norman Cook went to Brighton Poly and moved there and he often did his Fat Boy Slim concerts on the beach, I think he still owns a share in Brighton Football cliub, so it's no wonder The Big Push covered a track from Brighton royalty. Great track. Yo!
Yeah til 200,000 people turned up, someone died and 100's were injured in the crush.
@@no.1fangirl were they not ticket events? Although I can remember going to Glastonbury in the early 90's back when people used to climb the fence to get in and that could get a bit scary at times.
@@tomfoolery9749 no they were free gigs on a public beach.
I played a lot of festivals back in the 90s and there is always an infirmary section…I thought they were there to hear the concerts for free until we played one that also had Limp Bizkit on the bill….it looked like a war zone back there…..blood everywhere ppl on stretchers……screaming in pain…..it was insane……I’m afraid in big crowds since then.
If I were blind, I would have been like, "I didn't know Paul McCartney wrote the bass line for this.".
Sounds like like the bass at the end of Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds
I thought the same time. Kind of Beatle-esque. Loved it!
I assumed it was the bass line from Fatboy and that FBS sampled it from some classic recording. It’s awesome either way.
for somebody that had no vocal training, Ren can bloody sing, he said in an interview when he started he couldn't sing at all.
I’ve been teaching myself to sing for the the past 5 years…..I’m just starting to sound ok…..it’s very much a learnable skill if you put the work in. Being fearless speeds the process considerably!! ❤️
Yo Mike 😊 I was about to say I was surprised by Romaine (hope I spelled it right) having such a strong accent until I recalled that the only other time I heard his voice solo he was singing in French 😂 I really think they were all fantastic on this song.
Being a French Canadian the accent from France always throws me a little. Yo
Yo Michael, thanks for another great reaction. Here's another one you might enjoy, It's Alright, the official music video. little extra added touch a trumpet 🎺
Yes! Love that one!
I have a pro trumpeter doing a collab in the near future….maybe I’ll save that for him!!!!
Fire as always, yo! Love that they each had a section to show off their vocals with totally different approaches- and yet they all play off of each other so well
It was cool especially since they all sang the same lyrics….and that doesn’t really stand out.
Watch them do These Boots Are Made For Walking😁
That sounds great!!
This is a subway leading onto the seafront in Brighton. I think the one at Regency place.
Amazing…..we had tunnels underground at the UNI I went to….that’s what it made me think of
I hope they carry on when Ren is back from Canada. Love their stuff. Another great reaction too!
I hope so too
One of my favs - Yo Mike - thxs 😎
It was so good. Thank yo
Yo to the unofficial 5th member of The Big Push :)
Yooooooooooooooooooooooooo I wish!! :)
I love Gorran and his 60's style vocals here.
💯
Great reaction Michael! You don't want their songs to end. Gorran reminds me of Bob Dylan with harmonica. Love how they swap guitars in different videos.
I like that they switch up too….I have no idea how they decide though….Gorran is perfectly capable of playing all those bass lines. Must be some other deciding factor
@@michaelgoyettemusic rock, paper, scissors I'm guessing 😁 there's a video with them jamming at home and swapping guitars, singing and chatting. Worth a watch man.
On his song If (Live), he reminds me of Neil Young
so, so fkn dope - i can't believe i didn't even know any of these guys existed until a couple of months ago.
Me neither
Yo! I love this one, it's so surprising compared to much of the other Big Push stuff. They changed it so much from the original but still kept the spirit of it.
Yo. You nailed it
Yeah - the harmonies weave. They are f’in great!
Totally
I have to praise them like I should 😊 switching it up and never letting us down! Love your reactions yo and for the nice 🎸 intro 😊
Thanks so much!! Just having fun!!
Definitely one of my favorites. A great trio!,,,,,
💯
Amazing,unique talent. Yo
Indeed yo
"Gorran is just singing"
Well... wait... hahaha
I love the 'REN-o-sphere'!
:)
Great reaction, as usual. Check out their "These Boots Are Made For Walking" medley. All three sing individual parts there as well. It is awesome.
Added!
There is some videos of Ren busting with The Big Push, Ren and Liv Sangton and some of Gerron Kendall and Romaine Axias on "Brighton Beach Busting BBB" on UA-cam... enjoy the Ren rabbit hole ❤
Thanks for the info
Oh my this is my very favourite retake/remake or how is ot called from The Big Push. Love it. And I can see you enjoyed it also very much. :)
It is pleasantly reimagined!!
I don't know the middle guy's name, but I got definite Jim Morrison vibes from him! Great cover!
It’s Goran. He sings roadhouse blues in a video I reacted to. You aren’t wrong. :)
I'm really sorry but I stopped halfway through and put this through the Polks from The Big Push channel.. Well gosh darn wow, sounds incredible. I'm buzzin.
I don’t know what you mean but as long as your happy it’s all good. :)
@@michaelgoyettemusic Lol, big speakers.
Genius....true genius
:)
Thanks Michael, that's one that had passed me by...love it
Glad you enjoyed it
Yo, my daily moment of Ren.
Thanks again.
Yo So necessary!! :)
Hi , I hope you don't only get your daily moments of Ren from reaction channels (even tho Michael is great ,yo love him too) I hope you go to Ren and The Big Push channels and support them too ,as I hope everybody does they deserve to be shown all the love for all the exceptional music they give us ,love and peace to ya and to all 🥰👍😁

You are right, I am subscribed, but I should visit more often. I will make it a point to do so.
Yo! Whole thing start to finish so enjoyable!!!!
I agree yo
Yo! In the middle of Saturday chores, with the need to get them done--or to open up the guitar case and play along. The struggle is real.
Just add guitar to the list of chores!! 😃 🪀
@@michaelgoyettemusic Duly noted; it just went to the top of the list. But technically, it's not in the category "chore" lol
I was watching your most recent and during it realised I’d missed this one, so flicked over. What I love about the Big Push is that they’re all such accomplished musicians.
N.B nice bit of guitar at the beginning. Yo!
❤awesome❤
:)
Omg mike. How did i miss your reaction to this gem
Yooooo. I've found another song for you to react to. Not been reacted to by anyone else! By the Big Push. Called Swan Song. Ren plays yet another instrument he has not played before! Yoooooo you are the dude! If you want to check out some old Blur songs would also be good!
Yoooo others have suggested that. I will put it on the list…..I didn’t own any Blur records but the clubs I went to in the 90s played it a lot so I think I already know all their hits……I’d do a revisit if I thought ppl cared though. Cheers.
@@michaelgoyettemusic
The instrument Ren plays is called the melodica which creates a very French sounding effect a bit like the old Cloussea Pink Panther movies!
But the best instrument of all is the voices of all 3 members which create perfect blended harmonies!
Got us all singing along, love love love this
It’s good stuff
The band together is magnificent. Ren on bass ❤
They are fun to watch!!
Yo Mike. Another great track and reaction.
Thank yo!!!
You are a solid guitarist dude. Your intro reminded me a bit of Trey Anastasio mixed with some classic blues.
Thanks so much. :)
Yo! so glad you found your hat.
I knew I’d left it somewhere!! Yooo
✨❤️Yo!
Thank yo
Yo! Loving this experience
Thank yo! Me too
Such talent! And entertaining!
So true
Nailed that harmonica bit!
Yes Mike, this goes hard!
Indeed
So good thank you so much lovely ❤❤
Thanks so much to you!
Love the way you are able to resist the urge to join in.
Hahaha. Well I wanted to see what they were gonna do first……
Love these guys so much! Yo!
Yooooo
Oh so good!
:)
This sounds like Sly and Family Stone song... and Goran kinda sounds like Sly vocals too
You have no idea how much I love Sly!! ❤️
I get that. 🙏
That was beautiful. I love Romain’s accent but they all have amazing voices. And might I just say- that harmonica though! Mmmm yummy
I 💯 agree! Why do you think I rolled it back for a 2nd listen? :)
Yo! Great reaction man hope you have a great weekend! Much love from the other side of the pond 👊
Cheers yo!!
Yo Michael. That was great. I have come to appreciate Ren's band mates as much as the man himself but you are right about the Renosphere he does seem to draw in talent (Sam Tomkins and Chinchillas come to mind) to work with him.
He’s a magnet. Yooooo
Don't know if you've seen the Twitch streams buried in a Playlist on his channel.
5 two hour streams of Ren and mates just jamming and playing around. Not seen anybody mention or react to them yet.
Needless to say there's some absolute gems on them . The one with Liv Sanger, another Brighton musician, is particularly good .
@@richardhanney7950 might be fun to watch but I’m not sure ho many would watch a reaction…..thanks for letting me know about it
So much talent right here. Serious kudos to the Big Push👍🦇
💯
Totally nuts as in tops as in ridiculous as in frickin cool as in YEAH!
💯
Love your muso reactions
Thank you 🙏
Great reaction ñ, more Big Push please 🙏 Reckon you’ll enjoy their cove it King of the Bongo (Romain does a great mandolin solo in it) and Englishman in New York. For originals I love their acoustic, one take of Sweet Little Lady through the streets of Brighton ❤
I’ll check out sweet little lady. The others I’ve already reacted to!! Have a look around.
Thanks for watching.
@@michaelgoyettemusic I just checked out King of the Bongo! I’ll look for Englishman in New York, cheers x
So good! love your Big Push reactions!! Renosphere rules!!! :)
Hahaha I. Surprised myself with that expression…..I tried to play it cool but I was quite impressed with myself at that moment!! 😂
fvkin enjoyed that a super lot. top notch level of quality. Really cool band, super talented, pretty eclectic 😍😍😍
So simple yet so good. :)
If you liked the harmony in this one check out Swan Song from The Big Push, its an original.
It may take a while but it’s on the list. 🙏
An Hi Dee .Must be a Sheffield Bird .
Is he from Sheffield? I assumed he was a Brightonian.
Thanks for reacting to this one. Such talented guys. There's a Facebook live video (or something like that) they did over lockdown with them all sat on a bed jamming to different songs, switching instruments, etc. Well worth watching
For reasons too stupid to get into I can’t get Facebook on the computer I do the videos on. If it’s on UA-cam I can. :)

I enjoy watching your enjoyment with The Big Push, yo. More fun for me!
Thanks so much yo!!
Yo Great reaction.
Thank yo
I am here again having a listen to your reaction on my mobile. Love this track, the tambourines on their shoes adds so much to the whole experience. Adding another To.
Yo yo! That harmonica was ❤️🔥
💯
This was an awesome interpretation of a classic. ❤❤❤
Agreed
I love solo Ren, but The Big Push is wear its at.
True
Yo! Love that you did this one!
Appreciate it yo
Hiya Mike, great to see your skills on the guitar.
What a great tune, awesome to see THe Big Push covered it. They nail every cover they do.
I enjoyed it thoroughly!!
Thanks.
This is one of my favorites from TBP because their voices all get highlighted, but the harmonies are 🔥🔥🔥
Where can I find out about guitar lessons?
Find me on Facebook….same name. Message me there.
@@michaelgoyettemusic Will do! Thanks.
Yo, watched that last week and knew it was going to right your street👍
You need to get the two live videos he does with chinchilla on your list, more emotional and haunting, but mind-blowingly beautiful, yet another style he seems at home in 😂👍
Yo it was great
Thank yo 😂
Yo welcome!!
It seems like yesterday that I first heard this but it was a few years ago now. They harmonise very nicely all over their catalogue but it’s not always obvious. Big favourite and a happy sweet reaction from your good self. High D is it and you picked it straight up with the mixed head and throat voice with a bit of chest even I reckon.
Loved this❤
I’ve heard him sing a high D before but he had more power on it this time than previous times. Not an easy task for a baritone!!!!
Yo, this was fun! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it yo
Brilliant.
💯
🔥
:)
This is closer to the original that Fatboy Slim sampled and pitched up.
Is there a pre fbs recording?
@@michaelgoyettemusic Camille Yarbrough- Take Yo Praise.
Renosphere!!! love it.
:)
Yo... don't know how I missed this
Yo, ho, ho! The hat is back!
They totally killed this with soul.
Gorran is fire on the harp. When busking in Brighton, he plays a lot of Dylan (with harmonica), so he's known as the Dylan Guy.
Michael, I might be interested in lessons, to up my game. What are your rates?
Yooo. I am gonna make it to gorran eventually. I like him. I’m charging $30 Canadian dollars for a 45 minute zoom lesson. That’s probably 20 pounds?
Yo made too the end! Peace Out.
Yo!!
Romain is French. Someone said that they arranged this for someone's wedding and then played it on the street. Guess who walked passed and liked it? Brighton is Fatboy Slim's place.
Yo, sometimes I cannot wait till the end to comment. And did you mean that with the guitar lessons? I have a little bit of classic guitar and beginner's spanish guitar from many years ago, but that is it. It would have to wait a couple of months, though, to finish the academic year.
Yo yes I teach on Zoom. My email is in the description…..email me when you’re ready
Fatboy slim lives in Brighton?
@@michaelgoyettemusic In Hove, right next to Brighton. He organised a beach music festival there. I am really tempted to move there.

Didn’t you also ask for Praise You? I’m trying!! ;) thanks for your patience and for following along. Cheers.
🔥🔥🔥
Sooo glad you did this one!! Quick question? I'm learning the baritone uke and was wondering if the chords would be the same? Not sure if you would know but figured I'd ask! Thanks again and much love from TX!!!❤
They might not be the same chords but the same shapes would still be applicable…you might have to use a capo to get the same chords……I don’t know what the tuning scales are
It's my understanding that they are tuned DGBE like the top four strings of a guitar but I'll do some more research. Thank you so much for the reply!
👍
:)
Yo thanks.
Yo 🙏 ❤️
Yoooooooooooooooo!
