Thank you! My mom passed away last year & I brought home her machine. Am ready to learn how to use it & this lesson helped. Quite sure I'll be replaying :-).
I just came back from the store I bought this Presto 2 (my 1st) machine, 24 hours ago. The man told me to push the button to place needle ALL the way down to automatically thread it? Additionally, I was pulling the threading lever down slowly to see the action and the travel downward halted before the quick action took place. Then I searched for a video. Your use of the word "confidently" is key to threading the needle and of course the needle needs to be UP. I would rather not know how it works and not go through removing the needle, using a wire needle threader device, then trying to insert the needle in a cavity I cannot see. I had to use a locking hemostat (tweezers) to get it back in position. Thank You Cathy for posting. Ken - 81
Great video, thank you. I noticed the upper thread was pulling from the top and not the bottom like the diagram. Is that because it's cross wound thread? Does it matter?
Do you know this machine has a little gray plate under the bobbin plate with blades in it to catch the thread and cut it off so that you never have to put thread through the hole in the bobbin?????

“With confidence”! That one comment finally made me successful when using the automatic threader. Thanks!
