This song right here is what made me a fan of The Amity Affliction. Such an amazing powerful song that speaks volumes
This song really made me cry the first time it came to the bridge. This song just helps so much. Even if you haven't been involved with drugs the lyrics are just transparent enough that for the most part you can relate to it. Just having general anxiety it really connects.
The Amity Affliction is amazing!! They have alot of very powerful music!! Their newest album is alot softer except for the singles they released off of it. Great reaction again man!!

"Ill take another step for you" this song is amazing
As someone who used to be depressed and suicidal many years ago, this song (which I discovered just last year) is the only song yet I've found that for me truly captured what that time felt like; the symbolism about negative emotions/thoughts are quite obvious in the lyrics and tone throughout the song, but for me there's also the feeling to power through and starting to really live again when the angelic choir builds up to the second wind that is the last chorus.

@Youbal loulou Yo, thanks for the recommendation! Listened to it just a moment ago and I understand what you mean, the lyrics really hit me like a freight train. Loved the other instruments too (especially the drums)! While Pittsburgh may be more of a cathartic song overall (at least personally), Shattered will at least tie and probably surpass that lyrically after more listens now that I added it. Again, really appreciate the suggestion, all the best to you man!

I think this song was wrote after Joel had a seizure after drinking too much on a very very hot day at a concert near Pittsburg . And if I’m not mistaken this song is what he felt in that moment

Love the amity affliction! Great reaction as always. Catatonia, Soak me in Bleach, All my Friends are Dead are off their new album and are amazing. But you should also dive into all their albums before Misery. Misery was experimental and does have some good songs and the same can be said for the same newer album that came out this year where I mentioned my favorite songs from it

I currently relate to this song 100%. I'm 30 years old, suffering from incurable depression (tried every drug under the sun, countless medications and therapists, religion, CBT, cannabis), and the pains of my past (missed life experienced due to my depression and social ineptitude) are insurmountable. Through it all, my only strength has been carrying through my pain to spare my wonderful parents from the despair of a child committing suicide. If I had had horrible parents and family as a youth, I 100% wouldve committed suicide at age 12.
But here I am, at my breaking point. As the song states, "I'll carry on for you... I'll shed my tears until I am drown, or until I am underground."
I've long since drowned in my tears (happened 19 years ago, during 7th grade). I've known since then that my death would ABSOLUTELY come by my own hand via suicide. And it's not just "waking moments." I'm a very active/lucid dreamer, and I spend countless nights in my lucid dreams killing myself over and over. Every time I die in my dreams, it's a feeling of peace and rest. Every time I wake up to my blaring alarm, the thought is the same: "God, I wish I was dead. I can't do this anymore." Every single second of every single waking or sleeping moment of my life is spent wishing I was dead.
My lucid dreams used to be an opportunity to escape from reality, and live my fantasies in real life. Now, they all focus on my death... "Ahat does that mean, health care provider?" After living 2/3rds of my life battling suicide, and spending many thousands of dollars on treatments, the only empathetic solution is to allow me to go to my pharmacy, pick up a lethal dose of barbiturates/fentanyl, and let me end my perpetual suffering.
The only time I get a break from this suicidal core monstrosity inside myself is when I drink myself unconscious. When I blackout is the only effective way I've found to suppress this urge.
I've fought for so long to spare my parents, have drowned long ago and lost all hope, and now I'm just ready to die. Sorry, mom and dad. I love you, and I promise I will leave the cleanest, most peaceful possible corpse. Goodbye.
