I want to see a beauty influencer who applies makeup WITHOUT a filter. Or how about someone who actually wears the products they advertise instead of telling you they can’t live without it for 10 seconds then never wear it again
I saw this very same foundation clip in a video Tea Spill did. I said it there and I'll say it here; Mikayla is a liar. Even with my (inherently limited) knowledge of makeup, there is NO FEASIBLE WAY to get that much coverage from a powder. She had to use a liquid foundation first. Plus, the video cuts way too much to be believable. Am I missing something? Anyone care to tell me?
Right. I don’t know how people are just now catching on to this because it’s been driving me crazy for a while now. If the powder was that insane in coverage a lot more people would have known about it before Mikayla came along. I mean, it’s Maybelline, like…lol. The fact L’Oréal left her high and dry when she got into shit street with a video THEY would’ve had to give the okay before she posted is quite the red flag as well
Being someone who has been obsessed with makeup for over 2 decades and have used all sorts of foundations, you can 1000% tell that Mikayla used some sort of full coverage liquid foundation over the original powder foundation. There is no question. Powder, even a powder to foundation formula does not sit like that on the skin. You can also see the very subtle dewiness to her skin as well which would be caused by a liquid foundation that she probably powdered over. She is a liar. Dont even get me started on the mascara...which I did purchase and try...
I’ve gotten to where I don’t believed beauty influencers on TikTok because of all the filters. I always come over to UA-cam to look for follow up reviews
Jeffree was at least honest with his reviews. James was OVER THE TOP PEPPY with his reviews-if he ever did them I can't remember if he was a reviewer tbh Jaclyn was the sellout with reviews. Mikayla is just the liar with reviews.
Jaclyn. I firmly believe she’ll eventually her own brand that will actually end up being owned by some other brand (Morphe needs a new spokesperson), only to find out it’s all bullshit. But she loves that money, so she’ll ride the wave as long as possible. I’m sure she’s gonna have many more scandals and controversies.
I wish Mikayla would stop using filters and be real! I had high hopes in the beginning for her to be someone who people can trust. Sadly that feeling is gone and I can’t watch her anymore. 😔
news flash: you can’t trust any of these people. they all lie and filter.
Рік тому+8
When I saw the Maybelline video, I knew it wasn’t real. I have NEVER achieved that level of “clownish” coverage with just one product. Sus, I thought. Then L’Oreal debacle. I stopped following her, because I cannot trust her!
I don't watch most of these big time beauty gurus anymore because it's mostly like watching shopping channels on TV instead of real reviews. Mikayla is the tip of the iceberg at the moment, I really can't watch her. Unfortunately she's not alone and we have this problem with lying a lot when it comes to influencers. I support smaller creators and found some I really enoy.
She's essentially killed her career as a beauty influencer. People will never trust her word. For anything. I can't understand why she'd do this to her career.
What's crazy is her oblivious and crazed fans think she does no wrong and that we should get over her doing stuff like this. Like uhh excuse me but idc how small of they keep lying on what their whole job is based on ,they shouldn't have a platform 🤷 people will be dumb
So if people are doing reviews their shouldn’t be so many cuts. The point of a review is to see the product applied/ real time before and afters. So basically pointless. I will not buy from her, and the beauty filters for a review as well, is a big no thanks.
I’ve never heard of her before the lash incident, and I think that’s why it’s hard for me to care. A lot of tik tokers have even exposed themselves admitting that this isn’t a big deal, people lie all the time. I believe them. You can’t trust all these beauty gurus
I think more people are concerned by the precedent this sets. Some people spend their hard earned money to buy it so I think advertisers need to be more transparent.
It’s disappointing but I think the fame truly got to her head and the paid sponsorships is what’s getting her the things she has today so of course she will lie about a product… it happens all the time, I feel like people are just now realizing that people lie about products when they are being paid to promote it. This was a huge issue on Instagram before with the weight loss supplements etc
The first time I ever saw her was on Facebook a while back. I didn't know anything about her at all. But, I scrolled after a minute or so bc something about her threw me off. Idk what it was, but I automatically didn't care for her. And I don't ever like to pass unfair judgment on people that I know nothing about, so I felt kind of bad each time I would see her pop up after that. Now, I know I was justified in how I felt. It's so crazy how your gut feelings operate sometimes.
I have that Maybelline powder and it gave me zero coverage unless caked on…and it definitely felt caked. But honestly, I don’t EVER look to TikTok for real reviews of anything. EVERYONE on there seems to be allllll hype “OMG THIS IS AMAZING,” “YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS!,” “I’M OBSESSED,” “IT’S MY FAVORITE,” etc. etc. etc. nobody loves everything that much, but most “influencers” on TikTok sure seem to 😂
Lol most of the Tik Tok Tutorial's are using the beauty filter which makes it hard to see texture and impurities the foundation might have. So it doesn't matter how little or how lot you put your make on. It'll look flawless always with the beauty filter. So it's not just Makayla who's lying, unless you train your eye's to spot the filter you won't notice.
I can’t stand her for some reason. She annoys me too much to be a follower because I always noticed something off in her reviews. Kinda happy people are finally holding her accountable. It made me mad seeing her post anything being LIFE CHANGING and then going to watch tiktoks only to find people saying “we’ll, it’s not worth it”
I have no idea why she did it. Once you put the first coat on it looks good. I would love to see the second coat of natural lashes. No matter what you shouldn't do it but it looks good enough so why take the risk? She even could have shown it naturally first and then showed it with some false eyelashes added. Showing how it looked both ways. Why take such a big risk? Side-note- I have some scarring on my face. For everyday I will wear light to medium foundation. When I go out I like full coverage. I bought the Maybelline Foundation that she was trying. It is not full coverage at all. It was ok for quick light coverage. Lol, Matter of fact, when I go out to an all-day event & I use a different full coverage Foundation & then I toss the Maybelline one in my bag, just in case shine & or touch up.
It looks HORRIBLE in Mikayla’s video!! And I’m not just saying that because of the stuff going on with her, it genuinely looks better in the OTHER videos! Had I only seen her video, I would RUN from that product! NEWS FLASH Tati, I know you just came back but the beauty influencer world was already going down the tubes before this happened lol!
Paid partnerships should be illegal, because in a way or another is false advertisement: paying a famous person to say that your product is awesome, unreal, etc even is that product sucks it is false advertisement. So 🤷🏻♀️
Omg I remember seeing this video with the Maybelline Foundation and I remember thinking “girly wtf how the hell can a foundation be THAT full coverage?? It looks like a lil too good to be true”. Like miss girly why the hell you lying?? 💀💀
I don't know what it is about Mikayla, but whenever her videos popped up on my FYP, she instantly made me feel uncomfortable. I don't know if it's the edits, how fast she talks, what she's saying, or the fact that her face doesn't move cause of all the filler. But my weird brain chemistry is just always like, "Nope nope nope." Could also be the fact that I'm so over this style of beauty "influencer". It's just...empty words. I also leave more confused. Cause how is it that people have such good outcomes with whatever they buy, but I've been let down so many times?
Cute how Tati out of all people talks about trust authenticity and honesty, when she is the one who kept changing her statements and switching sides every few days that one time 😂 Can we trust ANY influencer at all?
Honestly I first followed her bc of her personality. I could never recreate any of her looks. I wouldn’t go to her for advice or recommendations. She just seemed more real than other gurus but I see she’s had many fooled for a while..
I'm so glad I never liked her cuz I used to feel bad about it, the way she talked about stuff seemed so exaggerating like gurl chill.. thank god she's getting what she deserves
I agree. Way before the mascara thing I never bought products that she alone recommended. I only watched her for her wicked cool accent and attitude. I have really bad eyes, so I only buy products (example: nyx concealer) if more than three people claim that it really works. I depend too much on other peoples advice on what my face truly looks like to depend on a gimmick. You know? My 💵 budget ain’t massive 😅lol.
Why would she destroy her reputation like this? This is how she makes a living, so you would think she would be honest so she would have a lasting career. I don’t like cuts at all, especially when it comes to makeup tutorials. Just put it on and be honest. Not too much to ask.
Controversies like these really suck because people are going to buy the product to prove a point/prove she’s wrong. And by that point the company and the lying influencer have won. Point blank. So I think we need to call these people out and leave them it alone. (That’ll never happen but I can dream 😢)
I have never trust influencer in the first place because lights filters and skin. Their skin is very smooth don’t have big pores so all the makeup people use never sits on my face the same. The only product I can trust are lip reviews
I usually don’t comment, BUT when I watched the last video an influencer mentioned that they used MAC foundation on one half and Maybelline On the other. So I’m wondering if she used the Mac one? Or am I reaching?
I give TikTok gurus the side-eye. People like Robert Welsh, Glamzilla, & Wayne Goss are influencers/professionals. People like Meredith Duxbury & Mikayla are just entertainment.
Meredith drives me CRAZY because her makeup routine with the insane amount of foundation she wears is going viral and tons of people are also wearing tons of product "to see how good it works". Girl who cares how good it works, you're literally using ELEVEN PUMPS of foundation per application? My wallet and the environment could never 🙄
She knows what she did, she knew that she would get so much attention for using fake lashes, she knew she would make so much more money if she had more attention even if it was the wrong kind of attention
Ok but hear me out... People were specifically buying the powder and mascara Mikayla used purely because they wanted to see if it was like she showed. These companies are probably gaining money from the drama instead of losing it.
Spot on. It is probably an engineered situation. Along the lines of: 'There's no such thing as bad publicity'. NOTHING that is seen on TikTok/Insta regarding so called 'influencers' is real. The companies that hire these people know EXACTLY what they're doing.
i think people should also keep in mind that EVERYONES makeup routine is different. from the amount of product they use to what they choose to apply it with.

Technically they aren't MUAs... Makeup artists spend YEARS doing makeup as a professional job on other people.. not just reviewing products online, these TikTok beauty influencers are JUST influencers, Robert Welsh has talked about this too
I want to see a beauty influencer who applies makeup WITHOUT a filter. Or how about someone who actually wears the products they advertise instead of telling you they can’t live without it for 10 seconds then never wear it again
they could even do this stuff on live
Jenn Phelps is great and doesn't do any sponsored content.
I’m not sure of your race but if you’re black try Jackie Aina on UA-cam or Beats By Deb
Sadly, even if there is one now, it probably won't last forever. The greed always gets to them
Sophdoeslife is great, she sometimes goes to different lighting to show how it looks and what not
I’m convinced Mikayla is rage farming. She’s realized it drives her videos. She got greedy and now does this on purpose.
mikayla really saying that powder foundation looks like skin when it literally looks like a mask 😂
I would stay away from that product instead of going out to buy it. I'm sure there are more people like me... Maybelline should sue her for damages.
Or the fact that people buy the stuff she hyped and even if it’s good, it performs nowhere near the way she claims it does. Everything she tries is “🤯😱omg you guys 😳😱🫢 this is stunnin’ *fake laugh* you HAVE TO GO BUY THIS IMMEDIATELY.” Really? Every single product you try is so mind blowing amazing like…get real. Very few things are that amazing, makeup is just makeup.
And people are delusional if they think Mikayla is the only one who does this stuff.
You’re right on the money 💴 Sis 😝👏👏👏
@@Glm867 Thank you, hon. Time for the lies to stop. I'm actually GLAD Jeffree Star reared up again. I don't know about you guys, but I'm looking forward to seeing what HE might have to say about this.
@@jordanhasch2544Nooo not Jeffree Star, he continues to be a problematic person, there’s many other Makeup reviewers out there that are not problematic, for example Robert Welsh.
@@jordanhasch2544 yh, Jeffree should stay in the abyss. He can and should stay gone
Every time she does that little chuckle I know she’s lying.
If we paid really close attention, she probably has other tells, too. That chuckle is definitely one.
@@suzymanville232 yes! And she looks away to either the left or right as well.
4:01 "It looks like a powder, but it's also a foundation!" So like a powder foundation? Wow, how innovative 😂 These influencers make QVC look good lol
😂
That was so embarrassing to listen to
what i simply dont understand - is the fact that other influencers are out there advertising the same fkn product with completely different results and she thinks no one will notice? like it was a long time coming and kinda inevitable
Mikayla thinks we’re stupid. At this point, she’s insulting out intelligence
My guess is that she has a wedding and a new house to pay for. Going viral would really help with that.
She had no need to lie about the mascara, she could have done q perfectly good sponsorship video without the falsies, so of course people are going to question her other sponsorships she had done, how can anyone trust her now.
Exactly, like what was the reason to lie? I’m guessing she just wanted the attention, good or bad.
I think it’s horrible when beauty influencers lie. With how expensive it is now to just get groceries, makeup is a luxury a lot of people cannot afford and they trust influencers to show them where it’s ok to spend that $15-25 you have set aside for makeup.
I’m happy people are talking about this FINALLY. She constantly lies, cries and repeats.
Can I also genuinely ask... how many people would wear that level of coverage in a foundation ? I'm curious... cause I couldn't imagine how that'd look in real life.
It looks terrible even in the video 😭😭 although I've never been a fan of the super-full-coverage look.
@@yelhsasokolova8561 I agree ! I remember the days of when KVD Lock-It Tattoo Foundation was a big deal. I wore it to work and it was beyond atrocious by the end of the night. I don't think anyone could rock a super-full-coverage foundation look lol.
meredith duxbury of course 😊
I usually wear FULL coverage foundation ONLY if I know if I'm going out after work-Full coverage fridays I call it XD
@@ribottostudio Hahaha I hear you ! I've tried FULL coverage in the past. I never did find it worked for me. I'm a powder foundation person myself, and I usually get light to light-medium coverage. One FULL coverage foundation I wore was the KVD Lock-It and it was a hot mess... also was in the middle of summer too lol
Once you lie, I will never believe you or accept any apology. Screw her
Well said!
I'm semi shocked people haven't realized that almost all of these Influencers embellish, up sell, and flat out lie to get people to buy things to fund everything they do. This isn't and shouldn't be a new concept.
Love your videos btw 💜
I dont lie thats for sure
@@saracristina you can hear it in the way they speak about these products. It's not natural. I commend you for your honesty.
it makes me sad because smaller beauty influencers are so honest and its always the bigger beauty influencers that are spreading lies and profiting off people. give more love to smaller beauty influencers guys❤️
She’s speed running being unsponsorable
"it feels like there is no powder on my face" .. of course there is no powder since it is clearly a foundation, so she's not wrong isn't she 😅
I’ve gotten to where I don’t believed beauty influencers on TikTok because of all the filters. I always come over to UA-cam to look for follow up reviews
honestly I'm just mad that Maybelline is out there making powder foundation when we are trying to move away from that flat cakey look.
I'm convinced Maybelline and Loreal are stuck in a time loop universe or something, constantly trying to remarket the same stuff 😂
She completely edited the video. The maybelline powder is cacky
Imagine all the girls she finessed at ulta by being the friendly relatable girl
So is Mikayla the new Jaclyn, James or Jeffree?
Yes. lol
Jikayla. For consistency.
Jeffree was at least honest with his reviews.
James was OVER THE TOP PEPPY with his reviews-if he ever did them I can't remember if he was a reviewer tbh
Jaclyn was the sellout with reviews.
Mikayla is just the liar with reviews.
yes
When I saw the Maybelline video, I knew it wasn’t real. I have NEVER achieved that level of “clownish” coverage with just one product. Sus, I thought. Then L’Oreal debacle. I stopped following her, because I cannot trust her!
i don’t even understand why she did what she did. who would want their makeup to look that goofy….?
Every time I see the Maybelline video, I think it looks like she rolled a skin-colored roller full of flat latex paint on her face.
it reminds me of shoe polish!
@@ISIDORA919 Yass!!!!!
The way Mikayla ignored the scandal and continues unashamedly over-promoting products for a check, doesn't pass the vibe check.
People need to remember that some influencers are trying to staying loyal to the brand and some are trying to stay loyal to their followers. 🤷🏻♀️
They do it because when I see “Paid Partnership” I immediately scroll lmfao
Some people spend their hard earned money to buy it so I think advertisers need to be more transparent.
it’s just ALARMING that she thinks people are stupid enough to believe her blatant lies.
You and tea spill need to collaborate
Fr they make the same videos
She's the kind to say a new vaseline formulation with aloevera is lifechanger OHH MAI GAWSS
what's the saying.... the faster they rise, the harder they fall?
I think the beauty community just needs this cycle to get back to the real editors .
I love how they bring this up continually because she wouldn’t respond till people slowly forget.
The “unbothered queen” should’ve addressed it. 🙄💅🏽
EVERYONE on there seems to be allllll hype “OMG THIS IS AMAZING,” “YOU HAVE TO TRY THIS!,” “I’M OBSESSED,” “IT’S MY FAVORITE,” etc. etc. etc. nobody loves everything that much, but most “influencers” on TikTok sure seem to 😂
The way I clicked on that notification 👀👀👀
But SAMEEEE
Lmaooo same😅
Here’s how you know they’re lying. If they use something and they say how wonderful it is and then you never see them use it again.
People need to report all these Tiktok influencers. Large fines will stop this nonsense fast
I guess being an influencer is just sooooooo hard it makes it impossible to be honest.
I cannot understand how anyone could see her as a reliable source
So 🤷🏻♀️
Mikayla and the truth go together like oil and water.
Omg I remember seeing this video with the Maybelline Foundation and I remember thinking “girly wtf how the hell can a foundation be THAT full coverage?? It looks like a lil too good to be true”. Like miss girly why the hell you lying?? 💀💀
I don't know about the mascara but I will tell you that the superstay powder amazed the hell out of me too when I tried it!!!
I don't know what it is about Mikayla, but whenever her videos popped up on my FYP, she instantly made me feel uncomfortable.
I don't know if it's the edits, how fast she talks, what she's saying, or the fact that her face doesn't move cause of all the filler. But my weird brain chemistry is just always like, "Nope nope nope."
Could also be the fact that I'm so over this style of beauty "influencer". It's just...empty words. I also leave more confused. Cause how is it that people have such good outcomes with whatever they buy, but I've been let down so many times?
Cute how Tati out of all people talks about trust authenticity and honesty, when she is the one who kept changing her statements and switching sides every few days that one time 😂
Can we trust ANY influencer at all?
“This is some coverage right here” 😂😂😂😂😂😂
aren't there any consumer protection laws she's actually violating like idk maybe hold these influencers accountable through legal measures.
I definitely used this audio for a short and tiktok 😂😂😂 I HAVE SEEN WHAT I NEEDED TO SEE
Moral of the story: don’t trust any beauty guru
HAHA TATI talking about not wanting to put someone down for doing what they love is hillarus.
I usually don’t comment, BUT when I watched the last video an influencer mentioned that they used MAC foundation on one half and Maybelline
On the other.
My wallet and the environment could never 🙄
She should really relax on all the products she's slapping on her face. Her poor skin looks angry in that tiktok😳😬
She knows what she did, she knew that she would get so much attention for using fake lashes, she knew she would make so much more money if she had more attention even if it was the wrong kind of attention
Seems like Mikayla is known to lie, I bet there are other tiktoks that she lied in, more will come out about her...
Mikayla has ruined credibility for herself from here on out.
Unless she does something on a live-I wouldn’t give it the time of day at this point
i think people should also keep in mind that EVERYONES makeup
routine is different. from the amount of product they use to what they choose to apply it with.
If y'all didn't see Nick DiRamio's video were he's parodying Mikayla and the whole lashgate, you need too, his is the best one 😂
oh yeah i bought that powder partially BECAUSE mikayla gave it such a good review and i was looking for a foundation/powder. it’s still really good but she definitely has a liquid foundation on underneath.
She looks the phantom from Phantom of the opera with that before and after shot of the powder foundation 😅
