Nintendo has made it pretty clear that ToK will tie into SS - their expression that fans play SS in advance was pretty indicative that SS will be more important than TP or any other game.
Very true! The final memory containing the Fi noise from SS (in addition to all the other stuff about the "voice in the sword") should be ample enough evidence that SS is the direct tie-in here. However spend any length of time in the social spheres/online Zelda community and you'll see droves and droves of mostly disillusioned TP Fans who have vehemently been trying to tie elements from it to TOTK due to it's """darker""" approach. @@ratedn I should point out that according to the Hyrule Historia book the so called "Shadow Mirror" from Four Sword Adventures was used to "banish an ancient tribe who once attacked Hyrule long ago" AFTER Midna shattered the Mirror of Twilight in the Child Timeline where Four Sword Adventures *takes place.* The fact that such a SEPERATE mirror used for the banishment of tribes STILL EXISTS in the *Child* Timeline leaves open the possibility for other Mirrors of Twilight to exist "somewhere" out there in the Zelda world. I don't know about you but i'm still fairly open to possibility that the Twili (not Midna) will appear in Tears of the Kingdom precisely because of the existence of other mirror "gateways" such as the previously mentioned Shadow Mirror and the ironically named "Magic Mirror" from A Link to the Past. You guys assume that the shattering of a single mirror by a mortal member of a banished tribe somehow means permanent severing between the Light World and Twilight Realm but seeing as it was the omnipotent Golden Goddesses's decision to banish the Interlopers into such a realm in the first place that means they could just as easily either create or allow another such mirror to appear so that Midna's descendants may be given the opportunity to leave the Twilight Realm and bask in the Light of the Light World.
@@javiervasquez625 I didn’t ever say there wasn’t a possibility of seeing the Twili appear again - I only reiterated what Nintendo has stated and inferred, which is that Skyward Sword clearly ties into Tears of the Kingdom.
Nintendo also said the same thing about Breath of the Wild tying into Twilight Princess, and that was a load of bunk. It was just marketing to get people to buy the remaster, and I imagine it's a similar situation here. "You're excited for our new Zelda game? You should buy this $60 remaster of an old one in the same series! There might be some clues that tie into the new game you're excited for maybe not really"
Tbh the only thing I really consider a connection point is that the architecture and placement of the bridge of Lake Hylia are clearly drawn from TP. But even then, that was probably done in reference to the Bridge of Eldin without actually being anything more significant.
I haven't really seen any evidence of Midna's return, but my theory is that Fi is back and will have a role in restoring the Master Sword. (I have a video about it if anyone is interested)
The only way bringing back the Twili people could make sense is if they were revealed to be the same race as the Zonai, as the Zonai clearly will play a major role in TOTK. There's some really convincing theories that speculate that they are the same tribe, but otherwise, I will be perfectly happy with whatever they decide to do!
Well the interlopers did come from Hyrule and ended up banished, no reason they can't come back besides the mirror, which could have been reconstructed in theory on the Hyrule side. However I'm hesitant to assume that's the case. If the Zonai do end up just being some random tribe of literal who's who took over the sky I would be pretty disappointed though.
still haven't beaten TotK so bare with me, but I have a feeling with TotK/BotW Hyrule we'll see another sequel that may introduce the Twilight Realm as that's the place where the rest of the Zonai went to while Rauru & Mineru stayed behind to live with the Hylians, Gerudo, Zora, Rito, and Gorons. Good examples are Midna and Zants Helmets(more specifically Midna's and her completed Helmet) look very similar to the Zonai's in design. Depending on how TotK ends and if there's any hints(don't give me the Chasm is supposed to represent the Twilight Realm, cause that's bs. The Chasm is just what use to be the Surface long long ago, and is used as a Cosmetic/Amiibo dump mostly). So my thoughts are simply: The Twilight Realm is coming in the next Sequel.
To me it feels more like Fi would make a return than anyone else. But Midna is peak companion. She's not annoying as hell. That's all it takes to be peak companion in Zelda. Not only that. But she had me worried about her and racing to save her. I ain't doing that for Fi, Navi, or King of Red Lions. They can rot.

It's a game specifically done like a game from and for the western market without the usual development cycle, because Zelda never sold that well in Japan and the flop, that WW was in the west, nearly killed the entire franchise. Don't get me wrong, I love WW and TP, but that are just facts you can look up. So, in order to revive Zelda in the western market, they just gave the western audience what they wanted, instead of focussing on a new gameplay mechanic and doing something new: - It has a lot of similarities to OOT by design - The Twilight world is also not really a new mechanic, but one, that was proven to work in ALTTP (dark world) - The transformation was also successfully done before in MM - And people wanted it to be darker (which is not a gameplay mechanic) You can actually see this, if you ask yourself which 3D Zelda is the odd one. You could think of any of them (not counting OOT, because it's the first) and see why they are the odd one, except of TP and actually make TP the odd one. They are all about taking your expectations and throwing them as far away as they can. - MM: Crazy sinister & depressing right after OOT, like whaaat? - WW: Toon style all of a sudden after MM and a huge ocean with islands? - SS: Takes a completely different focus with its motions controls and linear gameplay - BOTW: I guess that's obvious But TP literally feels like what you would expect.
