  • A strange paradox can be observed on this album: the member of the Rolling Stones quickest to claim the legacy of the blues pioneers also did the most to widen their musical horizons by turning his hand to a vast array of musical instruments. In “Doncha Bother Me,” the Brian Jones who comes to the fore, with his mastery of the bottleneck, once again returns to his roots, in a sense.
Credited to Jagger-Richard, “Doncha Bother Me” (working title: “Don’t Ya Follow Me”) is a blues number like those the Rolling Stones had been playing from the outset. And would play again, notably during the recording of the legendary Exile on Main St. This time, Mick Jagger inveighs against all those people who copy others, who have no personality of their own. I said “Oh no, doncha follow me no more,” he sings at the start of each verse. This is no doubt to be interpreted as a reproach aimed at
the fans. With a line that Ray Davies would have been proud of, Well the lines around my eyes/Are protected by a copyright law, the song can be seen as the Stones’ equivalent of the Kinks’ “Dedicated Follower of Fashion” (released as a single the same year as Aftermath)

Muchas gracias "Zikihow Dreams" por compartir, buen aporte. Para cuándo nos subes en inglés y en español a "Dirty Work" también de los "Rolling Stones"? Saludos!
