I think it's more when you see someone fail to do something then say it sucks for no other reason than they can't do it even though everyone else can do it just fine.
Thanks so much. Welcome. Here's some background about the show: we play a game for 20-30 minutes (usually one we've never played) and give our first impressions. We decide if we enjoyed the game (Continue) or never play again (Game Over). Check out some other episodes and you'll get a sense of the show. -Nick Murphy
Man you guys are the best. Not only for the fact that you guys are the most original, but the fact that you guys are humble and not big headed like other big UA-camrs. Keep up the excellent work.
We're horrible at every game we play but you're right, we didn't bring our A-Game. We won't make that mistake again. We tore it up at Space Channel 5 Regionals and we're going to dance our asses off at Space Channel 5 Nationals. You better bring it.
We talked about it right after we filmed it. We were all kind of 'meh' about this episode & thought that it might make a good joke episode. Once I looked through the footage, I thought it turned out pretty funny. It's always good to show people that some games just aren't good for our format.
You guys even make games that dont necessarily work with the show still pretty freaking hilarious. Im always inspired by you guys and how you all stick with it for so long before finally hitting it big :) when you guys have 500 thousand plus subs be sure to remember the fans :D
I love how no matter how much shit people give you guys, you're always here in the comments being extremely respectful. That's one of my favorite things about this channel. Keep being awesome guys.
love the show guys, your legitimately funnier off the collar than most comedians with there pre-prepared comedy shows. All the best and good luck with Smart Guys
From the description: "The guys tune in to Space Channel 5 and learn that just because a game might be good, it might not be good for the show." I'm sure the game is great but as we say in the episode, it's just not good for the show. There's a difference. Earthbound? Great game. Earthbound on Continue? Terrible. It's a great game just not good for the show. Rhythm games where you have to listen while trying to make jokes? Not good for the show. Know what I mean? -Nick Murphy
Our entire show is unfair decisions based on 10 minutes of gameplay. We acknowledge that it wasn't the best game for the show. But hey, we don't know until we start playing and that's the nature of the show.
The scene where you guys were just staring at the screen in awe literally made me cry from laughter. Bravo. This episode may have been different, but it was still incredibly hilarious!
That ending made me laugh, with just the game overs and no explanation. I believe this happened in another episode, but I can't remember. Good show guys!
The 20-30 seconds of silence watching Paul play the game...hilarious. Never thought silence could be so funny. Sure they thought they'd never be so focusing so intensely while playing Space Channel 5.
Damn, I really wish I could've donated some money to the Kickstarter, I really wanted to see the A-Team intro or know what those secrets were. I'm so glad Continue is doing a show, they're obviously very talented and funny guys.
I'll give you that it's a bad game for a show like this, but it's fun as hell to just play. Awesome music and crazy storyline combined with how hectic it gets later make it a really good, fun game
The reason this goes to 2085, is because they know that because of the events that happen in Robotron 2084, there won't be any humans left to play the Dreamcast.
You know I've been finding the right words to compare the fanbases, and play styles of these two, and you just pretty much summed it up in the best possible way anyone could ever do it..Thanks so much man.
No one said you were hurting the game's feelings Nick. I'm sorry I assumed your ratings at the end of the show were based on the game and no outside factors. Next time I'll remember this show isn't professional.
I never said I wanted a review. I just assumed that when they rated the game at the end of each episode they were judging it on the game and not whether one of the other guys there kicked their ass, or whether it was good for the show or not. If they can't do that I don't think they should be rating it at all.
"Cream rises to the top, sometimes very slowly." This might be the most wonderful metaphor of personificational greatness I have seen. Just. Wonderful. You go Nick Murphy.
Sorry you guys didn't like it! I have to admit, it took me some time to get into it at first, but now it's one of my all time favorites. Unfortunately, it doesn't get really cool until level 3.
And whether they would like to continue says nothing about the quality of the game? I know Nick said he feels like no one should care about their opinions but when you get 50,000 views a video it should be pretty obvious someone out there does. No matter how much you tell everyone your view is worthless it will still effect other peoples views. Especially when it pops up in big letters at the end of the video. Besides if you really feel like people shouldn't care about it, why include it at all?
I got this game recently and gave up at the same spot you guys did. Visually it's a really cool game and I know people love it but I'm pretty ehhhh on actually playing it... Great video as always dudes!
Wish you guys would've done your "continue" or "game over" at the end, even though I think we all know what you guys were thinking. I like when you guys discuss the game at the end.
It not being good for the show does not mean it should get a game over. Much like you and josh getting your shit kicked in by Paul at power stone doesn't mean it deserves a game over.
I love this show so much. I just want to thank all of you, from the bottom of my heart, for producing the best show about video games out there. I honestly feel you all could make a show about anything and it would be the best in it's genre. I look forward to Smart Guys and all future projects from any of you loveable wackos. I am curious, what is your favorite internet show? Many channels would cite you as their favorite, but what is your favorite?
Holy SHIT!!!! I just noticed that on the video's icons there are the system that your playing controllers the attention to detail on something as small as that is astounding Continue show you win this round!
OH PAUL. In England our free channels are BBC One, BBC Two, ITV, channel 4 and channel 5. But there is a BBC Three and BBC Four too, you just need the English equivalent of cable television to see those.
They're playing on the Sega Dreamcast. It was a great console (at least in my opinion) but it didn't do too well commercially and ended up being unfortunately forgotten...
By the end of it, they STILL hadn't quite figured out the basic premise of the game... Try doing... anything besides randomly mashing buttons and then getting confused?
I like how people respond to the way they play game when in my country more than half of the population plays worse and childrens are the best gamers in here.
Great episode guys! The part at the end was pretty darn funny. Y'know since you're digging up Dreamcast games I would love to see how you'd handle Shenmue... But I guess someone needs to send it in :)
The shot of you three boys playing this game in total silence for, what seems like a full minute straight, is the funniest fucking thing I've seen all week!!!!!!!
same thing happened with Mischief makers since that game takes a bit to speed up. But by the first real boss you ride a robot cat while fighting a robot dog who is riding a mech
1950 to 2085 is very close to the number of seconds you can count with four bytes of data. I imagine the time span is related to how it is stored. Why the programmers chose 1950 as the start date, I do not know; my guess is habit/convention/standard.
Paul, Nick, Josh, don't listen to whatever anyone else has to say negatively about your show, especially this episode in particular. This episode was not purely meant for commentary. You actually had to listen to the song or game in order to play. Other people just don't understand that. No matter how bad the other people's comments are, I love how positive you guys try to be. I absolutely love your show, even way back then from when you first began.
Not all protoype games are liked at first. Do you all remember Frequency or Bulletwitch? Games that have early innovation but were made before their time.
When I saw the title, I thought to myself "This is definitely not a good game for the show" and lo and behold they didn't like it. I loved the ending, great stuff XD
Nick! I'm curious, Since you're the one who edits the episodes, Did this episode have a chance of not making it to air? (Personally, I liked it, but it was different from normal episodes for obvious reasons)
I haven't watched any of your past shows at all and think this episode was funny. Was stumbling around to get a Space channel 5 review and though this was comical and hilarious! But I will check out more of your other vids :D
This game is actually really easy and entertaining to play, as long as you know the buttons and have rhythm. I own both 1 and 2 for the PS2. The Dreamcast controller didn't cut it for me.
I read about this in the UK Official Playstaion Magazine, never actually checked it out because there was never a demo disk for it and it wasn't in Blockbuster for me to rent. Looks interesting, though, I like the silliness of it all.
uploaded fuckign 40 minutes ago, already 300+ views, 40 comments, and as i type this, 2 new comments. God damn Continue is getting to big. Completely deserved!
I really like Space Channel 5, but I can understand why other people don't. If you guys do want to see the whole game, there is a code that sets on auto play (she even does the secret rating boosting pose sections correctly). Also, I never even once thought of deelight when playing this game, but I can see some minute similarities. Anyways this was a great video, thanks guys!
This game would work a hell of a lot better for continuecast than it would for the regular show. Not really something you can talk over/goof around playing and enjoy, but it's a fun and unique play if you give it full concentration.
All good dude. Thanks so much for sending the game and thanks for all of the years of digging the show. -Nick Murphy
"You guys don't play video games the way I want you to play them!"
-People who have never watched Continue? before
I think it's more when you see someone fail to do something then say it sucks for no other reason than they can't do it even though everyone else can do it just fine.

Man you guys are the best. Not only for the fact that you guys are the most original, but the fact that you guys are humble and not big headed like other big UA-camrs. Keep up the excellent work.
Nope. Not yet... Wouldn't you want 4 extra episodes during of a certain month?
We're horrible at every game we play but you're right, we didn't bring our A-Game. We won't make that mistake again. We tore it up at Space Channel 5 Regionals and we're going to dance our asses off at Space Channel 5 Nationals. You better bring it.

Sounds like time well spent.
-These Guys
Yes. When we went in the 80s, it made my brother cry. My brother apparently cries at anything related to Michael Jackson.
Later. We have a show to make.
PS - look through the comments here for hints.
love the show guys, your legitimately funnier off the collar than most comedians with there pre-prepared comedy shows. All the best and good luck with Smart Guys
The scene of you guys just sitting there focuses on the TV made me laugh SO HARD! I ended up choking on my oatmeal.

From the description: "The guys tune in to Space Channel 5 and learn that just because a game might be good, it might not be good for the show." When you guys cut to staring in silence at the screen trying to focus, I started DYING. Great stuff guys, keep it up!
Our entire show is unfair decisions based on 10 minutes of gameplay. We acknowledge that it wasn't the best game for the show. But hey, we don't know until we start playing and that's the nature of the show.
WHY DO YOU HATE WHAT I LOVE AND THEREFORE HATE ME!?!?!?!?! -Nick Murphy
The scene where you guys were just staring at the screen in awe literally made me cry from laughter. Bravo. This episode may have been different, but it was still incredibly hilarious!
Most rhythm games are impossible to make good commentary for... But having three of you there made it easier.
We aim to please! -Nick Murphy
That ending made me laugh, with just the game overs and no explanation. I believe this happened in another episode, but I can't remember. Good show guys!
Yes. It's hard to listen to the game and make jokes at the same time. Listening to two things at once is difficult. But yes, we do suck so bad. -They
Space Channel 5 might not have been a good game for the show but I liked this episode. A nice change of pace.
Hahahaha yes, the cutaway to you guys on the couch was the best part. Brilliant.
I just watched every episode in the last three days. These guys are great, though my god it hurts to think of all the hours lost since Saturday.
Gotta appreciate this comedy. Loved every minute of it
Joseph, Joseph-mah-man, You realize that we have a show to run and it must POP POP POP! Are we green? Super Green?
Another great video. These new videos always make my Wednesdays.
Greatest. Ending. Ever. The look of pure disappointment and disgust on Nick's face had me rolling!
This game is only remembered as fun, nostalgia keeps it afloat
Something about that whimsical boing that accompanied every miss made me lose my shit.
Love this episode. Good job as usual guys.
Thanks man!
The ending made me laugh so hard i cried! no discussion, no follow us, just game over... that is all. love it!
This is still one of my favorite endings.
"Did Michael Jackson make this game?"
Actually, Michael Jackson is in this game.
5:18, I don't know why, I just laughed too hard at this.
You know I've been finding the right words to compare the fanbases, and play styles of these two, and you just pretty much summed it up in the best possible way anyone could ever do it..Thanks so much man.
Wow, that game was just...um...that sure was a game. Chalk that up as another game I'm glad you guys could play for me so I'll never have to.
No one said you were hurting the game's feelings Nick. I'm sorry I assumed your ratings at the end of the show were based on the game and no outside factors. Next time I'll remember this show isn't professional.
I don't know what was going on at the end there, but that spinning guitarist made my day
Another great episode! Thank you for enduring this so we don't have to!
one of my favorite endings of all time...
I never said I wanted a review. I just assumed that when they rated the game at the end of each episode they were judging it on the game and not whether one of the other guys there kicked their ass, or whether it was good for the show or not. If they can't do that I don't think they should be rating it at all.
I love that they pointed out Dee-Lite because Lady Miss Kier tried suing sega for using her likeness.
"I'M THE TEACHA, I'M SURE TO BEAT CHA!"

Great video as always dudes!
The end is priceless. You guys just slapped up all the banners within 5 seconds.
Wish you guys would've done your "continue" or "game over" at the end, even though I think we all know what you guys were thinking. I like when you guys discuss the game at the end.
I got the compilation for the PS2, and it is GLORIOUS.
It not being good for the show does not mean it should get a game over. Much like you and josh getting your shit kicked in by Paul at power stone doesn't mean it deserves a game over.

This is the best game ever. Thank you guys, for doing an episode for this!
every time I see the red intro card and them smileing it makes me smile. continue? is the best
Holy SHIT!!!! I just noticed that on the video's icons there are the system that your playing controllers the attention to detail on something as small as that is astounding Continue show you win this round!

this had to be your shortest review. awesome, guys lol. love the ending.
They're playing on the Sega Dreamcast. It was a great console (at least in my opinion) but it didn't do too well commercially and ended up being unfortunately forgotten...

Isn't that the point of "Continue?"
I like how people respond to the way they play game when in my country more than half of the population plays worse and childrens are the best gamers in here.
I really liked how it just was like "gameover" with the combination of silence and faces.
Great episode guys! The part at the end was pretty darn funny. Y'know since you're digging up Dreamcast games I would love to see how you'd handle Shenmue... But I guess someone needs to send it in :)
round of applause for nick murphy for cranking out the continue show and preston and steves daily rush like a machine!
Dude, for some reason, I like watching you guy's videos with the "Grindin" instrumental by the Clipse playing in the background.
The shot of you three boys playing this game in total silence for, what seems like a full minute straight, is the funniest fucking thing I've seen all week!!!!!!!
FINALLY I get to see how this game plays, and the Continue? crew is going to show me. Thank the Heavens!
same thing happened with Mischief makers since that game takes a bit to speed up. But by the first real boss you ride a robot cat while fighting a robot dog who is riding a mech
so this marks the beginning of the five days of continue right?
1950 to 2085 is very close to the number of seconds you can count with four bytes of data. I imagine the time span is related to how it is stored. Why the programmers chose 1950 as the start date, I do not know; my guess is habit/convention/standard.

Tickled me to see you guys try to play this game because I love it LOL
I love how quickly they put game overs on at the end.
He was also in this game that you can just save for one segment. The next game made him a major character though.
Holy crap, the shot of you guys just playing the game killed me.
Nick!
I'm curious, Since you're the one who edits the episodes, Did this episode have a chance of not making it to air?
(Personally, I liked it, but it was different from normal episodes for obvious reasons)
One of my favourite games to return to from time to time along with the sequel and Rez. Deffo Continue.
this game is amazing on dreamcast! thanks for playing it!
I haven't watched any of your past shows at all and think this episode was funny. Was stumbling around to get a Space channel 5 review and though this was comical and hilarious! But I will check out more of your other vids :D
So that was three continues at the end there, right?
where's the potential in memorizing button combinations to the beat of a song....
LOL!
I loooved the face cam of you guys just staring at the screen.
o_________o Left, Right, Left, Left, Left...
This game is actually really easy and entertaining to play, as long as you know the buttons and have rhythm. I own both 1 and 2 for the PS2. The Dreamcast controller didn't cut it for me.

I wish this was done during sci-fi month so you guys would do a skit after. Still awesome video as always though!
there's bbc 1,2,3 and 4. but the network channels were bbc1 and2, itv, channel 4 and channel 5

I saw Captain EO at Tokyo Disneyland last year. It was the biggest WTF experience I've ever had. Have you seen it Nick?
This game would work a hell of a lot better for continuecast than it would for the regular show. Not really something you can talk over/goof around playing and enjoy, but it's a fun and unique play if you give it full concentration.
