@@stevebengel1346 some of the 1983s are copper weighing 3.1g. It's a transitional error.

Thank you for clarifying that I have a whole bunch of the Susan B Anthony and the mint marks some of them yeah but I would consider a blob but the S mint mark there's like four different styles that I found

My suspicion is that it is people working together to make it look like completed items have been sold at that price. Pretty easy to list it and have your buddy buy it for that and then just give you back the money. This is just my common sense kicking in.

Yeah I seen a seller trying to sell 2 gold colored 2020 trump coins from wish.com on there for $50 lol. I called him out on it. Then the listing was gone.

There is one that sells Bu single 1980s quarter I forget what year and what was the sellers name. That was the only good one I came across. It was not recently either.

I just recently purchased an uncirculated Susan B Anthony dollar coin that looks identical to the first one you are speaking about here- I have found a 2016 penny no mint with an extra "V" on it, I have a 2021 Crossing the Delaware quarter that is so messed up- but the coin was brand new whenever I first came across it- you can clearly see the quarter has a doubled mint mark- appears to be broadstruck on the front where the left side of the observe doesn't even present a rim at all where as the right side of it has the fine distinct rim- then- on thr reverse of the quarter- all the way around the outer edge just about- it appears to look like the quarter was shaven down to a smooth finish all the way around it- please remember- I came across this quarter Maybe 2 months after they first issued out the 2021 crossing the Delaware quarters- I see tons of listing for the errored Philadelphia mint ones- but the one I have is a Denver mint and I cannot find anything but a short video where this young guy is explaining to us in the video how rare a coin with a distinctive mint error should look- but the coin he had to show as an example was not exactly the same- the coins both had the shaven off appearance around the rim on one side- but his coin did not have anything appearing to be wrong with the front of his coin- mine looks broadstruck and you can see the D mint mark clearly with the naked eye is doubled- please help me figure out was classification of error my quarter may be called- or, is there not a class of errors in which coins like my quarter can be classified as?

It was a while back when the post office gave out SBA and some Sac dollars from their stamp machines every time I got a book of stamps I would put in a $20 bill and get $11 of SBA’s then they removed the machines because they were in the lobbies and were constantly burgled in the night
Quarters, half dollars and dollars throughout the 70’s and 80’s had a lot of filled and blobbed mint marks and plenty of low quality strike coins

The fact that Etsy posted a rediculous price of $50 K makes us question , how did they even come up with that number. It makes a person wonder, if the population really is that guliable to pay that much for something so trivial or if Etsy is really sure that they can conn someone, that this face vaule coin is worth $50K....the numestmatic field needs to reel in these companies that balloon rediculous prices in regard to just crap that they sell.... Always enjoy your videos ....they are great ...you are helping these new collectors to the field
yeah, etcy should prohibit coin sales at this point. it's ridiculous. but they would just move their scam to another site like ebay....

I just found one while putting quarters in the washing machine and the one i found is literally just a solid blob with no letter definition whatsoever. At first I thought it might be a D then after looking through a magnifying glass I can see it is just a smooth blob. edit - actually i think it might have been a s blob that got smoothed out from years of wear , but its really hard to see.
I have one that has the D mint mark on it but looks like it's been double punched. How do I get it checked out?

I have a 1979 Susan B Anthony dollar where it has a blob mint mark , BUT, also on the eagle side it is minted with only 2 'border baners' only on the edge. . The rest shows no border at all, it's flat and round like a quarter. The die was offset.
Any idea what it's worth? Are there any certified appraisers in So. OC?

Ive had so many of these coins and lots of them with that blob mark .used a eye piece and look closer.some lookef like an 8.
I have a 1979p SBA coin with appears to be a flying eyebrow on the right side dangling and directly aligned with the left eyebrow. First one l have seen on SBA coin.

i just got two from a coin op car wash in torrence CA. both are blob mint mark...
These are not worth anything over a dollar, this is not a variety or an error, it's a normal occurrence for these mint marks.

Mr. Daniel can you make a video of the 1996-P Washington Quarter: "missing earlobe" error. It's actually not the earlobe that is "dub missing" but the center area of the ear. There's a $2250 pricetag on ebay and bunch of fake claimers on their coin but its not even the error coin. Maybe you can shed a light on this one and share your thoughts about it.

Heck, half of the coins I find have "blob" mint marks. Or sometimes I see people saying "filled" mint marks, but they are just worn down to the point that there edges are connected. I don't think there is a lot of value in any of these, lol, but some people will try and sell them for all the money in the world. Thanks for the info Daniel!!
So I have 1974 an 78 US quarters both with blob marks in NM condition. How rare are they actually from not being filed down from wear an tear? They honestly both have dots under a scope….
@@iamaze6218 So - a lot of coins with "blob" mint marks can also be a result of the punch being used to add the mint mark to the coin being worn out (like the 1979 S Proof SBA Dollar)...this only happens prior to 1989 when the mint stopped hand punching the MM's. It could also be a later state die and the mint mark can come out mushy looking because it is such a small device on the coin. There are different reasons it could look that way. If you want to find out what you have, you can post on Daniel's help forum (see his pinned comment), or there is also the YT group - Live Coin Q&A - which accepts pictures of coins and helps you determine what it is you may have. Check out both of these options, because knowledge is power in this hobby!
I'd love to hear your thought on what I see as the evolution of the Type 1 and Type 2 1979 proofs. When I first started collecting this variety it was pretty cut and dry. Either you had a "blob" or a "Clear S." With the corresponding images showing a "Blob" as being an almost indistinguishable blob (like the one shown in this video) and a Clear S Mint Mark showing a clearly defined S when comparing the two. If you could see an S it was considered a Type 2. But now I see more and more the distinction being between a "Filled S" and a "Clear S," with the image of the "Filled S" showing a somewhat defined S, not a blob. Has the criteria for the Type 2 designation been updated? I have some 1979 Proofs that have a sharp upper part of the S while the lower curve is slightly filled. Are these still considered Type 2 coins? I'd like to hear your thoughts.
It’s all about die stages, the later or early the die the more differences in the smaller details.

Etsy overprices everything. They get some common coins and then throws one in there that might be worth something and then they balloon the price on it to mame people believe its special
Thanks again. Only last week l was telling my tenent about the blob mark coin. I'm no expert, but if the coin has no mint mark, wouldn't it have no mark at all, not a lump or blob mark. Looked like a possible double strike or worn die.

There's a coin same year same coin as these but the mint mark of the S is supposed to be blurry cause the plate was old they were using to strike them with. They actually changed and began using another S and it kind of looks like it connects to itself almost like infinity sign. The first one struck there had the blurry S and I believe are worth more. Altho I've never seen any. I'm new to all this do forgive me if I make any mistakes.
This isn't correct information, no mint, in any shape is worth more or less on these coins, the mint mark was hand punched into the die. I recommend joining our coinhelpu community for more information.
I was going through my Susan B Anthony Dollars and my 1979 p has doubling on the reverse part of the word States and most of America I don't believe it's machine doubling I'm not an expert does it have any other extra value if it is a DDO? Thanks again Daniel.
Unless the buyer can tell it's a doubled die and they can agree on a grade then it's not going to have much value. Non-graded doubled dies don't sell for that much unless they're the more rare examples.
