    Interesting video…One of my favourite salvias such a dramatic plant. Bought my first online and now have quite a few (from cuttings, but didn’t realise you could roots them in water!) Also you say they are hardy…I will try one this winter outside…presumably cut back the stems and mulch++? I have only grown in pots so far and then put it in an unheated greenhouse for the winter (am in UK)

      Yes they are cold hardy down to around about -5 Celsius but they won't like a combination of wet roots and freezing conditions like we had last winter. I had a couple die but I still have one to take more cuttings from. I would advise keeping a couple in the greenhouse just as a back up if this worked well for you in previous years. Yes cut back stems and yes provide a dry mulch. Simon
