Love this! Something else about Google Fit is that Google now owns Fitbit. They bought it in 2021 and are starting to integrate that hardware into their own Google Watch
That's true! What'll be interesting to see is if they support it for long enough to have the same impact as the Apple Watch. As a company, Google has a poor track record with consistent support for hardware, though now that they started making their own chips that might be changing!
its just a shake thought that if you pay for a Google Watch, after 1-2 years you will have to start paying monthly for the features that Google offers with their watch 🤦
Wear OS 3rd party watch apps connect directly to Fit. It's a bit complicated but you can export or sync that data through Google Studio to visualize your data or export to use elsewhere. Unfortunately neither allow you to access these directly through a website. Cool comparison.
Good to know, thanks! Seems like one of those functions that exists because it has to. From what you described, it seems unlikely many will go through that trouble.
In my app, in journals, i see when which app all added information, complete with some additional data.
Its true that google links for other apps to their playstore with the correct filters, where these app do belong.
Its indeed a pity that the steps are just a list of steps in month. In day it does again say where it is coming from.
Thanks for sharing your experience!
Apple Health is comprehensive health tracking for anyone versus Google Fit focusses on fitness oriented people. Apple Health is way better and polished. Apple is both hardware and software
Thanks for the summary!
