*My most controversial opinion:* To this date, the "colorblind" model was the most effective way to fight racism. The biggest complaints was that it was just a shield from listening to minorities which is objectively untrue. Listening to the mainstream rap artist tell there stories, sitcoms wanting to talk about inequalities, and historical minority revisionist history documentaries all started off in the 90's and some were the most popular media of the time. Another criticism is that it was Culturally blind, which is actually true. But so was society in general at that time and that is not the main concept of "color blindness." The concept can live separate from it's anti-multicultural roots. Mean while the current model of dealing with racism works off of resentment and outrage baiting. They not only are the welcome mat for the far right pipeline. They actually end up with people like Nick Canon and his fans talking about their brand of eugenics where white people are "lesser than"(lesser than black people) in thier words. Which happened less when the ethnicities were encouraged to interact indifferently at an early age. Also I personally do not care about race swapping in movies, it doesn't change my connection to that character. So as long as we are considering eqaul representation, swap away. But my problem is the underlining message of the why in the model we live in now. It happens mostly kid's films too and it teaches us that "NOW we can relate to them. Now that they look like us." Instead that it never mattered because no matter their demographics, we all are human. Also it is false to consider this was the time black people had a growth in equality. Especially in representation and crediting. It was the late 80's-early 90's when the "colorblindness" model was in full swing. Also it converted racists because it didn't cancel them, it forgave and gave them the opportunity to get off their current path and join a new one. Also it is because of the 90's take on fighting racism, that racists had to go underground or get shunned. It can be upgraded and improved in a 2nd wave. But it is to this date, the most effective campaign we had against racism. Also at the end of the day the colorblindness model had a vision, the current model doesn't have one. It just wants to point fingers to sustain itself, and sell tickets & subscriptions.
You're right. Colour-blindness is the only way to eliminate racism. The problem is, it will not eliminate disparities between different ethnicities, which will still exist for a variety of reasons, other than discrimination. It is not practical to ensure that each profession contains proportional representation of ethnicities. Take skiing for example. I have absolutely nothing against black skiers and would not discourage anyone, of any ethnicity from taking it up as a hobby, or profession, but I wouldn't expect to see the ethnicity of skiers, to reflect the demographics of the population, for cultural reasons. I could have talked about other professions, such as black players being over-represented in basketball, but I wanted to choose one which isn't too controversial and is mostly white, to prove the point that under-representation of black people, doesn't necessarily indicate racism. Regarding race swapping in films: I have no problem with it in theory, but am against the way it's practised today. In the past white actors have played non-white roles, presumably because acting wasn't a profession adopted by non-whites, probably due to cultural reasons, as well as discrimination. Nowadays there's no short of non-white actors, so the ethnicity of the actor can easily match the role. The problem I have with modern so-called race swapping is, it's always a non-white, playing a white role, never the other way round. This double-standard indicates non-white actors are being dropped into roles, to tick a box, rather than because they're most suitable. And don't get me started on white voice actors, playing non-white animated characters being forced to resign: that's just racist and should be called out.
Anger towards others for reasons of cultural background, color, sexual choice, etc. shows to me that the person is very unhappy and full of fear. I actually have started to feel sorry for those miserable people and I pray for them. They don't bother me anymore but they do annoy me when they effect others who don't have this understanding.

No, we cannot end racism. People are tribal and discriminatory by nature, it’s part and parcel of the human condition, whether it’s race or class or nationality, people want to belong to a group. And we always think our group is better than everyone’s. This has been the case since mankind lived in caves. At the very least, people like people who are like themselves so white people will always prefer their fellow white people, arabs will prefer fellow arabs, black people will always prefer black people because they come from a common tribe. This is my experience living in many different countries. In a uniquely multi racial country like America, the racial differences are far more pronounced. But it is not limited to America. Racism exists even in non white countries against other non white groups. You cannot change people’s hearts by law, politics or, culture . The only question we can deal with effectively is how much of racism and discrimination is affecting people? As an immigrant, I don’t care about hurtful racist comments. People can say whatever they want, they don’t like , they like me, i don’t care. But if a racist goes on a shooting spree specifically against a certain group then that’s a big impact that has to be dealt with. But fundamentally, you can only minimise the effects of racism but it’s impossible to end racism without ending humanity as a whole.
This is why racism wouldn't be gone.. because of ideas like this. Didn't the content creator just make a video about how critical race theory is wrong ... Yet she's liking this.. fence sitting much? People know what their SOCIETY & Culture teaches them. If you socialize kids when young, non of this would happen. You know what pure bred means? Incest. race is dead & unhealthy in any way you look at it. Simply perpetuating a way of thinking that's archaic ..
Are you talking about racism or discrimination? There are multiple forms of discrimination, but when describing them all as 'pure' racism, I wonder if you are moving the goal post. I just posted a comment where I try to describe three forms of discrimination. The first one regards to pure racism. The other two however, although ethnicity is often a factor, might not be pure racism. I myself am starting to think that other forms of discrimination get unjustified perceived as 'pure racism'. I am curious if you think if my comment provide a useful perspective, or has some serious flaws. Meanwhile, I do have hope that what I describe as 'pure racism', might actually be ended someday. But that does not mean the end of discrimination, including discrimination where skin color is a part of (thus not the only factor).
The cost of destroying evil is our humanity. Serenity (the movie) touched on the kinds of bad things that society/culture/government cause when they try to play God and "make" people "better".
The idea we can eradicate racism is based on a simplistic understanding of what racism is. Racism is merely one form of prejudice, which is something we all struggle with. The thing is, prejudice is not always irrational; it can arise from real lived experiences and conflicts, which will always be a part of life. Add to that our natural tribalism and affinity for people we relate to most. Racism may end when we move past prejudice altogether, but that's not likely to happen soon. The best we can do is be aware of our prejudices and try to override them.
I totally agree with this thought, it’s just human nature to have a bias towards your own culture for really basic hardwired safety reasons. The world is turning into this dystopian place like you say, where we’re trying to pull the humanity out of people instead of working with it. The people toting this don’t seem to grasp the cause and effect of their actions.
Damn like chattel slavery, the constitution, the Jim Crow laws, Segregation & desegregation(NOT Integration) but desegregation, Flood towns, Housing Acts, Tulsa Massacre, all that seems to have a cause & effect

The Idea of a Utopia where everybody loves each other, sip pina coladas at the beach is not only absurd, but also contrary to human advancement. Destruction, hatred, chaos to a degree is needed for human evolution.
Yes we can! As an immigrant, I was shocked to see that everyone is placed in “boxes” - Italian American, Hispanic American, African American etc. Why can’t we just all be Americans?
The reason for differianting between the various nationalities that have immigrated to America is culture differences that each group wants to maintain. When efforts are made to unite everyone into one culture, it is called cultural genocide.
Food for thought! So true!! So important acknowledge the brokenness of people, a lot of bad stuff that is going on is indeed the idea that Utopia is so close if it weren’t for .... fill in the blanks. Thank you for the video!
I think there's a point when a society comes close, but then it gets all messed up again. I lived in Burundi for a while and Timor-Leste. For a moment in time, there's a calm, probably because so many died, particularly the adult population. Those left are curious and hopeful. But then some politician/leader gets in there and stirs up divisions.
I’m going to be honest, your videos feel very refreshing to me. most of those who claim one can end such a concept only seem to really care about control. to me, you can't end it, because it pulls from one of the most primal things of the human psyche. but it can be tempered, and minimized. I do not think the way they try to do end this concept today will do it though. i think it will only make it worse, because of what they assume about a person based on factors they can't control.
I never heard it out like that “it takes away the human element.” There is no way to “engineer” racism out of society. That would be purifying everyone’s hearts and we know that there has always been and always be evil in human hearts and many go towards it. Utopia has always been a ruse for control.
PS. So it seems only love, forgivensss, example have the potential to change a human heart - at least it’s our best bet. You can’t force someone not to be racist.

One of the greatest movies that speaks to this problem is Freedom Writers. If you have not seen it, check it out. Powerful film, and based on a true story.
This is why I like what Jordan Peterson has to say. It's from a different angle, but the principle is still there: Hierarchies are inevitable no matter how you categorize anyone or anything. So if we eliminate race as a hierarchy, another one will emerge like she said, about who's tallest or smartest, etc. and the question is where does that end? how do we quantify such things? it's very complicated and we have a long way to go if we want to figure it out
1) What are the principles of social justice? Exactly what makes a distribution of wealth or an disparity in income just or unjust? 2) What rules are going to constrain the person or organization that is going to make society just? 3) What mechanisms do you propose we put in place to make sure these rules are going to be applied justly? These questions you should immediately ask any person advocating outcome based justice.
The problem is the "end racism" notion has no proper ending point. The goal posts keep moving. There is no proper, practical solution without eliminating all but one race.
Benjamin honestly if you think about it … racism will always be around we can’t totally end it but we can reduce it…. I think… we can try to make it powerless. So it wouldn’t be a big deal anymore. I don’t know if I make sense. But I hope you understand

I don't know anyone's heart, but my own, but I think there is a lot less, "racism", than most of these kids want to believe. I don't know anyone I would consider, "racist". I've had boyfriends, over the years, and they have been from different cultures, and were of different skin tone(s), than me. Why would I have an issue with that? If I like a person, I link to his or her heart, and I don't give a whit about his (or her) color. Do most people? I think not. I also think an, "evil heart", would be extremely rare. These SJWs are just believing what they're told by the evil-doers, who run the show, and expect them to play. I, on the other hand, simply do not play that looney game.
It's become obvious to me that people who oppose CRT do not understand systemic racism or racism in general. It needs to be understood that racism is systematic by nature and should be by definition. This individualistic view of racism that everyone basis their assessment from is wrong. We must work to dismantle the system and culture that fosters it. Please understand this has little to do with individuals, individual racial prejudice would have little to no effect if not for the system and culture that fosters it. So when people talk about black individuals can't do this or that because of their race is inaccurate because racism effects groups "collectively" so it makes it harder for individuals who come out of the collective. The true solution is to empower historically disenfranchised groups as a whole not as individuals cause that is not how racism works.
Probably not when you refer to yourselves in a divisive, Marxist way all the time. For instance, "Black Community" as if you're separate from the overall American Community in general. "Black History Month" as if it's separate from American History overall. You're being played. We were always being played with divisive social engineering in academia and TV Media.
Here's the thing: I believe we CAN end racism... eventually. But human beings will just find another dumb thing to hate one another irrationally for. Because THAT'S WHAT WE DO. How many times have I seen people who are in no position to look down on others, create some weird reason as to why others are inferior. Once, I was in South Africa. I went on a tour of the Soweto township. Our guide was a relatively prominent member of the ANC. He told us all the stories about the riots and the desperate fight for justice etc. It was very moving. Then, later, while we were drinking beer in a shebeen, I asked him about the African immigrant groups in Soweto. He then proceeded to go on a really angry rant about how much he hated various African people, especially Nigerians! I couldn't believe it! Never did I imagine that black Africans would be racist towards other black Africans, still less a former freedom fighter. It was from that point onwards that I realized that racism had little to do with bad 19th Century science and capitalism, and everything to do with the idiotic human desire to make yourself feel big by making others small. In the future, it might not be skin color that divides us, but something will. That doesn't make humans bad, just flawed. Racism should be stopped, but I can't believe that anyone is naive enough to think life will be a utopia afterwards.
I just wanna say you’re doing God’s work here. We need more people to speak out about these topics. Thank you for having the confidence to do so… it is really appreciated by many.
CRT advocates never bring him up, they also never bring up Thomas Sowell or the fact that Lil' Wayne basically rejects the idea of racism even exists anymore
You are very smart. The only way to end racism would to take away everyone's freewill &, well, freedom. Freedom is always associated with good things but people never seem to realize there is a cost. The cost being for the bad things to exist as well because they are birthed from many different circumstances that derive from the existence of freewill.
Our tribalist nature (including religions, nations, nationalist sentiment) is a group adaptation that was necessary for building our civilisations. This hability we have to unite and «forget ourselves» in a group is part of human nature, and makes us stronger. Jonathan Haidt in his book « the Rightoous Mind » explains and demonstrates it very well.
I’m almost 60 and a white woman. I’m fairly naive in seeing the good in people and can say I’ve never hated anyone. I’ve never understood racism, sexism, etc. For me it’s if I like you, I like you. If I don’t, I don’t. I don’t know if racism will end because I don’t understand its existence.

It’s sad that this opinion is considered “controversial.”
It's a Heart issue. We'd (God alone would) have to change everyone's heart for that to succeed :) He has given us the will to choose our own paths.
From a Christian viewpoint racism (or hate of any kind) is a sin and until Christ come back that sin will always exist in this world.
The same ppl that gave chattel slavery also gave that God y’all love to praise

I took a class on deviance and the tldr of the class was that purely by defining a set of values you always create those that conform and those that deviate. There will always be people that be bigots, unfortunately. The only way to have society be better is to forgive and try and change the minds and hearts of the people. Forgive me for I know not what I do. We need more love and less hate. Love your vids Kimi!
Wow, you took the words right out of my keyboard, and then some! So very well said!
Yes, you summed it up perfectly.
You just spoke my mind.
I dont know how people expect to end racism when we cant even learn to treat each other correctly on the daily
The cost of destroying evil is our humanity. Serenity (the movie) touched on the kinds of bad things that society/culture/government cause when they try to play God and "make" people "better".
.. They supplant God in order to diminish the need for God (and the influence of God) in people's lives, so they can be more easily controlled.
ONE RACE, HUMAN. Love one another, people. 🍃🌷🍃
Whatever happened to looking at people on an individual level? Now it’s judging people based on race, at least according to the woke crowd.
You're killing it out here with the facts, girl. Love you and what you have to say!!!!💖💖💖💖
I watched all of your videos from skateboarding, to singing, to your artwork. And you make me feel good. I love your brain. But I love your latest speaking videos of your world views the most.
I’ve asked myself this same question!! Thank you for bringing this up! People need to think critically more about topics like this!
Kimi, you are a joy to listen your deeply thought out observations. It gives me hope to know you are in this world paying attention.
We can't force people to change their minds. We can only offer an alternative experience that may influence change to their preconceived notions

It's simply encouraging that someone else has thought this out logically.
The Idea of a Utopia where everybody loves each other, sip pina coladas at the beach is not only absurd, but also contrary to human advancement.
Destruction, hatred, chaos to a degree is needed for human evolution.
Plus good old competition . .
I recently read a quote along the lines of: "the believe of Utopia is predicated on the idea that perfection is the end goal of humanity"
but the 🍹 coladas sounds good right about now
Great talk with Benjamin.
Thanks!
For a bit, my brain has just felt stressed when considering every single interaction I have while trying to use the tools I’ve learned from activists. I realize that in my attempt to be an ally, I’ve been making assumptions about everyone and trying to fix everything. But I can’t do that, and pretending to have a complex like that is harmful to everyone around me. To hear that these issues may never go away isn’t good obviously, but it’s also a well-deserved wake up call. Thanks for making this video, I hope you have a good day. :)

I think your work is truly amazing your insight is so insightful and enlightening
Some day when people learn to judge people by their merit and character, instead of skin color.
No. Of course not. The best we can hope to do is protect the rights of everyone despite the racism that exists. We can't end it, but we can make sure that it never results in the evils it has produced in the past. There are always going to be people who think stupid things about race and culture. Racism is the realm of stupid people, and there will always be stupid people.
That book sounds amazing. My literature professor in college (who was black, as most of my professors were) loved SciFi and taught how it's a commentary on society and it really blew my mind how much deeper so many books and stories were than people might have thought. One of the best classes and teachers ever.
I've been listening to you over and over. I can't get enough. 🙌❤
Agree with you so much, Kimi~. This is why for me personally, I've just disconnected myself from society as a whole.
It's a lot less stressful not caring about other's opinions. I'm literally going to die one day; why should I care?
You are phenomenal! Thank you for sharing your thoughts, they make so much sense. Recovering SJW over here, didn't even realize the level of stress it caused until I had a mental breakdown and had to quit the job I had which was related to critical theory stuff
Ending racism is like trying to end humans breathing oxygen.
And animals, they're all racists
@Mithras Leontocephaline I think its innate but you do have a choice to turn it on or off
@natma relnam Thats it. Very well said!

3:10 I think that is Harrison Burgeron by Kurt Vonnegut
most of those who claim one can end such a concept only seem to really care about control. to me, you can't end it, because it pulls from one of the most primal things of the human psyche. but it can be tempered, and minimized. I do not think the way they try to do end this concept today will do it though. i think it will only make it worse, because of what they assume about a person based on factors they can't control.
Thank you so much
The story thats she is referring to is "Harrison Bergeron" by Kurt Vonnegut
I read that story in middle school! It's point is very true, and it worries me that we could be going towards a similar society.
Love you you give hope
Short story “Harrison Bergeron” is similar to the story you mentioned.
Brilliantly stated! Bravo! 👏👏👏👏👏

The book your talking about i think is called 2083 or 2082. Its also known by the character from the book Harrison Bergeron.
Love the improvement in editing and video quality!
You are such an original thinker. Coleman Hughes is the only other person I've found to be intriguing to your level, because everyone else is so predictably politically loyal with their thoughts whether they are "left" or "right" leaning. You are well read and where you and Coleman are different is you also weave the word and Christian threads into your thoughts that make your videos so refreshing. KEEP GOING.
So if we eliminate race as a hierarchy, another one will emerge like she said, about who's tallest or smartest, etc. and the question is where does that end? how do we quantify such things? it's very complicated and we have a long way to go if we want to figure it out
Would love to know the name of the book please!! Thank you so much for the great talks 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Absolutely she should do her own podcast.
The problem is the "end racism" notion has no proper ending point. The goal posts keep moving. There is no proper, practical solution without eliminating all but one race.
More wise words Kimi 👏
I couldn’t agree more!!
Depends on how you raise & teach kids, I think it's very possible.
Yeah. I think we should start to see race like how people see hair color. But I don’t know if it’s possible

Benjamin honestly if you think about it … racism will always be around we can’t totally end it but we can reduce it…. I think… we can try to make it powerless. So it wouldn’t be a big deal anymore. I don’t know if I make sense. But I hope you understand
@@mariankushigbor9605 yes, you learned your vocabulary & use of words from your parents & others around you. Words are thoughts right? So you learned how to think from your parents & society at the most impressionable age. . Right?
Ending racism equates to being able to fix stupid which has plagued humanity since the beginning of time. It starts with teaching our children the golden rule of judging based on the content of character, not appearance. I do feel like each generation makes small steps but it is a long process that we need to keep advancing 🙌🏻
Yep… what troubles me is they must know this. So obviously there’s another end goal in mind. 😬

@@Nyonyozimusic On a lighter note, "Pain" has been on repeat!! To me it's got kind of a distinct underground skater Hip Hop vibe that I really love. Planning to feature it in a Spotify playlist when we add a Hip Hop one soon.
From my perspective, this would have been so critisiced if I hadn't been said by a woman of colour.
Life doesn’t get easier, we just get stronger.
Kimi has acquired the third eye to see every plane at which we exist, I personally call this the quantum plane of Culture. Kimi God bless your heart.
Not sure I completely agree. I think it's an achievable goal to make skin color or race as trivial a trait as say, hair color or height.
I am so proud of you. It would never stop. The only place ending racism ends is at tyranny.
This woman is a Guru!
Harrison Bergeron by Kurt Vonnnegut is a short story about the same thing.
Your awesome!!
I just wanna say you’re doing God’s work here. We need more people to speak out about these topics. Thank you for having the confidence to do so… it is really appreciated by many.
How do we end racism?
Morgan Freeman says "Stop talking about it." Brilliant. Make a plan for a better life, follow it. Voila. (Duh)
CRT advocates never bring him up, they also never bring up Thomas Sowell or the fact that Lil' Wayne basically rejects the idea of racism even exists anymore
This is a prisoner's dilemma. If some people stop, and other's do not, where does that leave us? Evil doesn't disappear.
Oh how I wish more people are as rational as you are. God bless you.
Doesn't seem it's possible but being around different people and learning about different cultures can help.
Kurt Vonegut wrote Harrison Bergeron back in 1961. Sounds a lot like what you are talking about. Handicapping everyone till everyone is average.
No..we can't and Great VId btw!!!
People can’t, God will .
I’m almost 60 and a white woman. I’m fairly naive in seeing the good in people and can say I’ve never hated anyone. I’ve never understood racism, sexism, etc. For me it’s if I like you, I like you. If I don’t, I don’t.
