I mean to take absolutely nothing away from any other musician on stage with Henrik, but sometimes I swear that half the reason Dirty Loops is so popular is because they actually have the balls to let the bass be heavily present in the mix. There are some phenomenal bassists out there, but they're rarely given such a spotlight like this. It's incredible.

It’s only three in the band, no guitar, no sax, no trumpet , and for me it’s "normal" for a jazzy trio.

The musicianship of all of these guys (including Cory Wong and his Hornheads) is off the charts. I think the thing that makes Dirty Loops, Cory Wong, and Vulfpeck so amazing and tight is that none of them allow their ego to get in the way. They're all highly technical and gifted musicians, they all know it, and they all genuinely respect eachother's abilities and they all truly like each other. You can see the joy on their faces when they play and it's infectious. And Grace Kelly's stank face is everything.

Quincy Jones is just their manager though. They produce their songs themselves, together with Simon Petrén. I heard one of them say, in an interview, that they don’t send Quincy anything, not even demos, until it’s completely finished. They’re mad as hatters and it’s utterly brilliant. 😁

@@markprater1 I'm sure it's made as an MJ tribute, and is supposed to sound a bit like him, but if you ask me it doesn't sound like it actually IS an MJ sample, but rather something they've created in some other way. And even if it is a real sample, it doesn't change the fact that QJ isn't their producer in any way. He's still just the manager. To me they show that you can write complex music and still have be grooving and fun and catchy, reminds me a lot of how dense someone like Prince's music was etc

I loved this review. You have the same love for music that I have, and I loved the shoulder groove right after the bass solo. Filthy is right. Cody Fry, Cory Wong, and Dynamo are a phenomenal collaboration as well. Check out "Want Me Back" and "Better."

There is much more Dirty/Filthy😄 Loops to discover…every song on their EP Phoenix i worth while a reaction. Perhaps Work Shit Out is a nice fit because it has some longer solos…

On first listen, everybody seems to react with "WHAT?!?" at the end of a Dirty Loops song. I know I did. :D Even when I know the band now, I still react with "WHAT?!?" at the end of every new release they make.

Gotta do “Turbo” next. The horn lines & tenor sax solo are INSANE

Finally some dirty loops. They are so great. Please check out the song „breakdown“… to be honest you can pick whatever song you like. The guys are so great.

I love your shirt, Doug. Also would love to see you react to their rendition of Triller!
