    Hey bud. Nice quick tutorial. Great idea...you'll be helping me out haha. Fwiw, the package you showed with the flush bottle.. That's what they had at the dealership. Either that or small pints. I was just there for some ps fluid myself. For an rsx s(and others I'm sure) that's the juice if you want oem. Good fluid too..I like to stay Honda/Acura, considering that's what it's made for. Hope I could be of some service :-)

    Hood stuff man, but Honda only suggests Honda Genuine fluid only.. out of all the Asian auto makers, Honda is the only company that is strict about using Honda Fluid only.. the seals, hoses and metal parts go bad after a while using other brands.

      That’s not true,penrite power steering fluid exceeds Honda Oem fluid and I’ve been using it in Toyotas and Hondas with zero issues. Technology has come a long way when it comes to fluids. I wouldn’t use the cheap crap as that probably would cause problems,but when a renowned brand exceeds Honda Oem specifications that’s perfectly safe to use. The only time I use Oem stuff is when replacing parts.

      @@Healthliving1967 penrite? Never heard of it, that’s good to know. Acura Genuine fluid is cheap enough and at the local dealer, and they sell it by the bulk even cheaper online. So it’s the best option for most. And it’s guaranteed to not cause power steering issues.

    • @Healthliving1967
      @Healthliving1967 4 місяці тому

      @IntegraDIY the 400ml honda power steering fluid here in Australia is $20.00 a bottle from the dealership and that's the only place you can get it. Penrite is $30.00 a litre-a lot cheaper and it's better than honda oem fluid.

    • @IntegraDIY
      @IntegraDIY 4 місяці тому

      @@Healthliving1967 penrite isn’t American, and not available locally. For the average Honda/Acura owner, HG Honda/Acura Genuine is an easier option. And it’s the original fluid, which is the best.

    • @Healthliving1967
      @Healthliving1967 4 місяці тому

      @IntegraDIY well that's your opinion, technology has come a long way with oils. Penrite is full synthetic where honda is mineral oil based-its like the difference between synthetic motor oil and non-sythetic motor oil. Synthetic fluids far surpass any mineral oil and its the same with power steering fluids. As I said I've been using synthetic oils in my Honda's and Toyota's and have had no problems at all. You are paying for the name brand,same with Toyota. The only oem stuff I buy is parts,I won't skimp on aftermarket ebay shit but when it comes to oils I'd rather $90.00 than $140.00 to do a power steering flush !

    I did this recently to my RSX and now when I start my car, it's making like a "errrr" type of sound for a few seconds. Did I get air in the system or something? My clutch is feeling weird too. I'm assuming it's unrelated but it was immediately after changing the power steering fluid..

    • @mmaviator22
      @mmaviator22 4 роки тому +1

      Yes, you more than likely still have air in the system. Either that or the oring is bad. Alot of times the orings you get from auto zone or orileys are the wrong size and it allows air in. Trust me, I learned the hard way. You can order the exact oring on amazon or call honda or acura and get it if you cant get the air out after trying to flush it again.

      Open your res up and turn the wheel back and forth and see if you can get the air pockets out that way first. Mines foaming up and over flowing making that noise but I know I have no air pockets so that’s why I’m doing a flush. But if you get the pockets out and it’s still doing that without the fluid being foamy or anything your pump could be starting to go on you 👍🏻

      I dont see a nut on his power steering pump pulley. I bought a kit to reseal my 3.5 RL pump and it has the same design. Taking that pulley off is the only way to access the front seals of the pump.
