I recently weighed my 2020 Ford transit high roof van and with a full tank of fuel and the “cabinets “ (their open cabinets), and bed frame made of wood, mattress, storage containers, Iceco cooler and other things and it weighs 7700 lbs. I have Havelock wool in it as well. It feels heavy. I don’t even have solar or any electricity in it. I did think of balancing the weight by putting weight on both sides and yes I try to put weight on the wheels. I used to drive a semi truck. If I ever get solar and electricity then I’ll take some things out-like tools and canned foods and drinking water. I also installed 1/4” plywood in the ceiling and sides and cedar planking over it.
Great topic, too many people driving around over loaded in their conversion vans.
Thanks very much! Please let us know any other topics you'd like us to dig into!
