Polly from Texas here! Pastor David so many great points made in this message. I’ve heard sermons about communion before, but I have to say this is the one that made me feel like I was there, at the table, wondering why Jesus was changing the Passover script that all of them had grown up knowing, including Jesus. I’ve never thought about what was said before in place of what we know now as communion. Can’t wait to sit my kiddos down and watch this one with them. The end when you are talking about eating, has so many neat illustrations. And, of course, being from Texas, you mention tacos and we’re “all in”. 😂 Thank you for posting this!

Great presentation of Passover …. I will never understand why a pastor/teacher has to get into some kind of character and then start screaming any yelling. I’m positive Jesus didn’t do that.

No one wants to talk about this translation that makes 0 sense compared with Leviticus 23?? You can not prepare for Passover the day after Passover. My translation doesn't say that mine says as the feast of unleavened bread drew near, which makes sense.

May I refer you to the Enduring Word commentary on this passage.
There you can find some interesting information that brings some clarity to your question. I hope it helps. Looks especially at the section that covers verses 17-20.
      Blessings!

@@DavidGuzikEnduringWordI am done with men trying to tell me what God really meant in his word to be honest. The translation I use doesn't have the issue. The point is people need to be taught to search things out for themselves and stop trusting men and translations. Instead of making excuses, let's find the truth that sets free.

@@heleniyahabukarsh513 I agree with you that it is extremely important for every Christian to be a Berean...to read God's word and search out truth for themselves. I agree with you on that.
That being so, the Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 4:11, 12 that God has given leaders to the church for the edification of the church. God does have a place within His church for gifted and anointed leaders to help instruct fellow Believers.
11 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, 12 for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the [e]edifying of the body of Christ,
Apollos was a great example of this.He was gifted and anointed, but needed further instruction from Priscilla and Aquila.
Blessings as you seek God's truth.

@@DavidGuzikEnduringWord according to the doctrine you have. Was your messiah buried 3 days and 3 night?(what the Holy spirit taught me) Or 1 day and 2 nights? (As I was taught in church)

Wouldn’t Judas had to have been at the Passover? In matthew 26:25 mentions Judas asking Jesus if it’s him.

Pastor Lance replies - Yes, Judas was at the meal, but he left before its conclusion.

Man was not made for the Sabbath,…Sabbath was made for man. Passover was/is a celebration ritual to honor God for His deliverance of the Jews from Egypt. Like you said, Pastor David,..the proper and logical assumption of the apparent conflict is to consider that Jesus said he/they would eat the Passover, celebrating it a day earlier than it technically occurred. But,…as He is God,..that’s His ‘call’,..and because John was being perfectly technical about it, he’s just fine.✝️🙏🥰
