I always love the chemistry between Marbury and Barry. That was a backcourt that gelled from day one.

Kenny Anderson, Stephon Marbury, Travis Best. GTech has been blessed with some great guards.

I remember watching Stephon play in high school at Lincoln. It seemed like as soon as he crossed mid court he was in range. Marbury would either pull up from deep, often times deeper than he's shooting from here, or he'd zing a pass into the paint for an easy shot by one of his teammates. He's as good a point guard as I've ever seen in high school and he was great in college too.

He wasn’t bad in the nba either. Career 19 pts and 8 assists per game. Just misunderstood. He was ahead of his time. He would’ve been a killer in this day and age of the scoring/creating point guards. He just ran into idiot coaches who didn’t understand how to use him and wanted to build their teams around post men. He needed an attitude adjustment when he was younger. He was just a teenager playing in Minnesota a long way from home and family. Teams know better today how to deal with young superstars.

When Marbury was with the NJ Nets, my nephew was a boy and he lived a short distance from the Nets Arena. Since the Nets played in the shadow of the Knicks, the arena was often only about 30% attendance. So the organization would have student specials, often the tickets were about 3$ a ticket. I would pick up my nephew and a bunch of the neighborhood boys who asked to go, and we saw Marbury often.
As best i can remember, Marbury was the most talented, athletic basketball player i ever saw live. Dr. J is my favorite, yet i never saw him live.
Marbury was a joy to watch. It was an interesting team also, they could have built a perpetual contender: Kittles, VanHorn, Williams, Feik... Then came Kenyon Martin. I saw some games when they gave a glimpse of solid possibilities. It was fun.
      Your favorite player was exceptional.
