Thank you. My favourite was The Overland. Travelled on it many times, usually in roomettes and stayed awake all night. I remember once in the middle of the night dragging my friend to Horsham station I think it was. We got on The Adelaide bound Overland, went one station then got on the Melbourne bound Overland back to Horsham. The things you do when you are young. The first view in your footage was a very small version. Back in time the train used to fill the whole platform and during holiday times they sometimes ran 2 or 3 editions of the train each night.
To still see so much of the tangerine and grey livery still in use 2 years after the maroon and blue design was introduced was surprising, I wonder how long it took to repaint the entire fleet?
The latest year ive seen vline trains still having the tangerine livery was 2003 so im guessing it took 8 years to repaint all the trains and carriages.
Hi Andrew, I'd love to make contact about some of your footage - I'm independently making a doco about the Aussie music industry of the 1990's and some metro / train / city footage like this could be great to set the scene. Weird seeing that livery on sprinter, do you have footage from 2003? or the siemens and xtrapolis when they first came out?

or 2005 ua-cam.com/video/l3X4gy5yYGM/v-deo.html

great vids. really like them.
do you have anything from the hitachi trains? any onboard vids from trains?
Victoria 1989 has a short interior shot of a hitachi. There are some shots from onboard trains in Queensland that will be uploaded in January.
