  • Yes. That is a fire thumbnail. Wild late-night inspiration.
And here we have MORE of the first reactions to CN City's Debut back in June 2004. It seems they're a lot more divided this time around. What do you think? Agree with anyone? Comment below!

Discloner is wrong because I knew how to use the remote on the TV since I was 6 years old... and I was 8 when the logo change happened so I knew where to go instantly plus the shows and the commercial breaks were about the same... so I knew instantly, and let's say even I only saw the "CN" logo... there's still "Cartoon Network" spelled on the bottom of the "CN" logo anyway. Oh, and let's not forget, TV Guide Network existed back in the day right? Last time I checked. TV Guide Network let you know even if you had to wait 'til the listings popped up.

The 2004 CN logo is not generic at all, and the female announcer of the network's City era (used from 2004-2006) was Nicole "Nikki" Vicius.

2004's a very nostalgic year when it comes to Cartoon Network.

Experiencing the Logo change & seeing the CN City era usher in a new feel was pretty climatic to me… I had started watching CN in 2002 and I remember the 10th anniversary of Cartoon Network and how they did the Montages with the powerhouse style of theme… it was just so different but yet so unique

At least Toonzone is not overly-sensitive and nitpicky than Retrojunk.

The whole typing like you talk thing: It bugs me when people type "no pun intended" when obviously by leaving it in you intend the pun!

5:26 That I disagree with the was it best period In Cartoon Network history The best period would’ve been 2000 to 2003 during Toonami golden era as that’s when they got the most ratings ever.

Do you know how much money Cartoon Network made in 2000? 2001? 2002? 2003? Do you know? Because sales are what I was talking about. There is no "best" otherwise because that's all opinion-based. I'm talking facts such as how much money they made financially and how the world viewed them at the time.

@@JamieSnowdenYT In terms of TV ratings a lot of those shows during that time. Period were exploding and there were a lot of advertisements during that time that were even saying that it was the most watched rated shows of all time we all know Dragon Ball Z was the number one rated show during that time period too.

4:30 I think it was more or less because of nostalgia for the original spelled out the whole way. Remember in 2004 when they first introduced the new logo at first I really didn’t like it because I really like the original logo as that had been logo since I started watching Cartoon Network. But the new one in 2004 grew on me and end up liking it as time when on.

I’m disagreeing with discloner Jamie if you ask me 2003 for me was the peak of Cartoon Network because that’s when the network was changing its identity from Powerhouse era and that 2004 had CN city took over which was one of the best things to happen thanks to jim samples.

The comment about the Toonami logo I believe was referring to the on air display of the logo in the bottom right. Like how Adult Swim doesn't have the cartoon Network logo

I'd compare the relationship between Warner Animation Group and Cartoon Network studios to that of video game publishers Konami/Ultra Games and Acclaim/LJN during the era of the Nintendo Entertainment System, since Cartoon Network/Hanna-Barbera now only exist on paper at the animation studios of Warner Brothers (just like how Ultra Games/Palcom Software did at Konami Games)...
