    This is not a tutorial. It doesn't teach you how to access and use the features. It's just a brief overview.

I was about to bite the bullet and buy a BS pro/ after seeing Look mum no computer using his on stage/jam sesh. This is everything i need in one controller. Looks like my Covid stimulus money is getting spent on this.

    At 2:22, there is a nice smooth filter sweep, yet the unit does not record smooth mod strip or knob movements (knob movements jump per/step, and don't record smoothly) . I'm hoping this will be available in a future update.

    Can you please add the sequencing option that makes the Keystep so goddamn inspiring and powerful where “you can extend your sequence by adding (appending) notes, tied notes and rests to the end of the sequence” (Keystep Manual)? This is by far the thing I was most excited about with the Keystep Pro. Having four sequencers that one can just add notes to the end of a sequence and thereby creating interesting polyrhythms without even consciously choosing the numbers of steps in a sequence at the beginning.

    Hi. I'd be instrested in entering beats live recording with an external MIDI pad controller (in this case I'd like to use my Roland SP303 to do this). Is this possible to map those pads to the drum gates and use the Keypstep Pro sequencer to sequence a set of drum modules? If not the SP303 could I do this with any external PAD controller?

    Is it possible to change the default sequencer length to 64 (instead of 16)? I primarily use the keystep to loop lengthy riffs and it would be nice to not have to press shift-64 everytime

    I'm currently on the hunt for a hardware sequencer. I've narrowed it down to either the Novation SL3 or this Arturia Keystep Pro. I need to know though, how off grid can the KSP go? What is the note resolution of unquantised sequencing? The Novation sequencer offers 6 microsteps per step so that's 96 steps per measure. Can the KSP offer a higher note resolution than that?

    More precisely: can I create a pattern in the key of C and then play (transpose) it to key of D as it plays, pressing the D key? (like an arpeggiator would do with a chord).
    can I “play” the sequence as if it were the result of a programmable arpeggiator?

    If I have an instrument connected to each Keystpe Pro track, Keystep Pro allows me to trigger the four Tracks, and send sequences and play the four instruments simultaneously with each of the Tracks, or I have to trigger each Track and send its respective sequence one at a time.

    this doesn't do sequences like the original key step right? Like creating an odd length sequence and then appending to it to build on your sequence whilst it loops. This is what was great about the original keystep and keystep37.

    Hello, I've noticed that KeyStep Pro has two MIDI outputs. Is it possible to connect for example Volca Bass via MIDI 1 and Volca Keys via MIDI 2 and play live on them at one time or set pattern on sequencer for first one and play live on second one?

    • @Hakucho64
      @Hakucho64 2 роки тому +2

      You can do all of that, but note that to play live on both of them at once, you need to split the keyboard into two halves; the bottom (bass) end plays one device and the other end plays the other device. You can adjust the split point as you wish. Check the online manual (a PDF) if you get stuck.

    Hi folks. I have a synth query. All help appreciated. Esp any owners of the keystep pro
    Disclaimer. I have used synths before BUT this is my first dive into controlling synths externally and first ever time using cv.
    I just bought an arturia keystep pro to control my korg minologue XD, microfreak, model D and volca sample. (I was under the impression I could control all the above with a KSP, sequence and compose dawlessly. Maybe I was mistaken)
    I plugged in all my hardware. Each piece is making sound when played on its keyboard so I know audio is not the issue. My volca keys is hooked up to midi out 1. My minologue to midi out two. The other two are three and four with a single cv
    Here are my three issues:
    1. On track 1 the volca is sounding when I hit a key! Hurray. The problem: it just triggers one sound no matter what key I press (yes, the keystep pro is set to drum mode). Also, when I switch to any other track, the volca is still sounding when I hit a key. But it's a different drum being played.
    2. The minologue is being sounded on track 1 instead of track 2. So I'm hearing a tom drum AND whatever note I'm hitting on the minologue together on track 1, but no sound on track 2. (So track one is triggering two instruments at once)
    3. Track three and four there is no sound coming through. As I've said, I have never used CV before. And I think the issue may be that I need two connections per instrument, one for pitch and one for gate. Is that correct?
    The obvious answer is internal midi needs to be routed differently. Well, I can try! I don't know how this works on the keystep, there seems to be 16 midi channels but I don't understand what that means. Also, I assumed that out of the box it would be routed logically ie. Midi/cv outputs 1 2 3 and 4 correspond to those tracks.
    Could it possibly be a software bug? I've heard they're buggy? Should I do a firmware update?
    Am I missing something obvious? Does anyone have any insight? All help appreciated. Thanks

    Hi, how do you:
    1. Get into real time recording mode? I follow the exact steps, but it wont save the changes I made with for example the touchstrip....it wont save any change
    2. Make it start playing until you play an actual note in real time recording mode? thanks.

    • @ArturiaOfficial
      @ArturiaOfficial  3 роки тому

      Hi Vincent and thank you for your feedback.
      1. The real time recording mode records your notes, but not the touch strip and pitch bend messages yet.
      2. I suggest you to use the count-in feature, that can count up to 2 Bars of metronome before starting the sequence.
      We would like to implement these features, I suggest you to send a request to our support service to push them www.arturia.com/support/askforhelp
      Thank you again for your feedback, it will help us improving our product :)
      Best regards.

    I will pay $100 more for a version of Keystep Pro with full size keys! This thing is sick but the shortness of the minikeys really messes up all my muscle memory from practicing on pianos. When I play normally my fingers end up at the very top of the black keys and it's hard to press them down from the very top.

Aftercare and good(!) tutorials are indispensable for synths today. I am not the only one who pays attention to such things BEFORE buying. I will now rather turn to the MC101, there are excellent tutorials in abundance, and you don't have to fear standing alone and abandoned in the woods with the product afterwards, if you ever need help and support.
