Can we please get an "undo" option in a firmware update after hitting Random Notes? It drives me nuts that there's no way to revert to the original sequenced pattern (if you forgot to save it first). Undo is ESSENTIAL for reverting Random Notes. Also, the random notes are too random, with octaves. Even when constrained to a scale, they octaves are all over the map. Can we get a "constrain octaves" option when doing Random Notes? Such as C1-C3, or C2-C4? Anything like that helps tremendously. Thanks!
There is a “reload” feature that can solve your undo issue.
Thanks Again
Full Randomness means it will trigger every time? Lulz, okay....
Just pretend it says “probability” instead of “randomness” - you could even use some tape and change the label yourself!
@@overand yep
You haven't explained how to change the length of the sequence for example I want sequence 12 steps long.... press last step then 12 then it's done.
Can someone confirm that "skip" is not the skip as usually meant in analog sequencers, but rather a "rest", meaning the sequence is not shortened?
HELP!! Is there any way to play the drums in polymeter?? ... I'm having to run at 200 bpm to get my hats fast enough compared to my kick..... Do I need to update the firmware?... I feel like it's a pretty key feature... Where is it?... Can't seem to find anything about it in writing or tutorials.
Please add micro tuning per note for the pitch button and I'll buy the KeyStep Pro. I need Unquantized pitch for my analog gear. Please Arturia! :)
I'm dying to sequence some quartertonal music too!
Ray McNamara Music You could set it to 2V/Oct, I think? (Or use an external divider and then quantizer.) At least, assuming you’re using CV
I feel like adding quartertonal functionality to something with a Western keyboard is asking a lot, yeah? There's other gear that can probably do that better. But I suppose you could always mangle (add, divide, multiply) the CV pitch outputs to get quartertonal stuff? That's one of the thousand reasons why every eurorack case should have a Disting!
⚠️UPDATE SUGGESTION: Ability to reset/clear individual “shift + sequence edit” changes to their original state e.g. (random note, random oct, etc). For example, after activating random note and random oct, you are able then reset just the random note, random oct, or both. This setting would be a very versatile and utilitarian functionality upgrade 😊
Hello ….love the video. I have questions….. can I use the keystep pro with a moog sub 25 ? I bought the keystep pro thinking I could use the sequencer along with the moog sub 25 . Is this the right idea ?
FYI, it looks like Step Skip isn’t working at this time. It is posted by me and someone else on the Arturia forum.
Still can't get it to work!
How to edit all steps from a pattern at once ?!?
Is it possible to program substeps/drum rolls somehow? Like for making a hip hop beat and inserting some kind of drum roll for the closed hi hats?
i see where your going with this...I agree.
Can it do sub-step for triplets and sextuplets? And can it shift the whole pattern as different root note is pressed when performing to be a real sequencer? Or it works just a pattern sequencer like those built-in drum machines? Just wanna make those things clear before I buy. Thank you.
Hi Johnny!
You can't create sub-step but you can turn any of these sequencers in triplet mode and adjust how long the sequence is.
You can transpose each sequence one by one on another key too. There's no global transpose for now (transposing several sequences at once) but we've received this request many times and we would like to implement it in the future.
I hope it helps!
Thanks
This sequencer doesn't work . It's a crazy nightmare, Not even the notes input is working as you say. All the Arturia users community are really appalled by Arturias behaviour. This is not fair. WE ARE USERS NOT BETA TESTERS
1. Program random sounding sequence
2. Invert, reverse, and randomize random sounding sequence
3. Sequences all sound random
wish the beatstep pro drum sequencer also had the feature to randomize each part rather than the whole track (random isn't useful for the kick most of the times)
true!
I think you can each step at different probability with the randomness knob :)
Didn't see how the randomizer in KSP works on a per-instrument basis on the drum track, have I missed something?
I have a Vermona Perfourmer 4 voice synth i would like to sequence. Does the keystep pro send multiple sequences through the same midi channel ? ( i.e if i have 3 different sequences on track 2, 3, and 4 ) i would like to send an arpeggio and 2 sequences to the Perfourmer. Is it possible ?
Can i record chords from the chord mode(shft+chord) in the Sequencer? I tried, but its only recording a single note
Not yet
So my drumbrute is obsolete if |I had this ! and my normal keystep . Is the drum sequences /sounds as good as the drumbrute impact ?
Is it possible to group transpose within a certain scale? Say ii-v-i in Phrygian?
Finally, a sequencer that can make my notes naughty :)
not possible to add randomness on pitch / gate / velocity to specific step ?
... 5 months passed by. Editing on KSP is so annoying.
Merci pour les explications 😉
How do I simply delete just one step in a sequence (set the value of that step to zero) without skipping that step in the sequence? Cause I'm happy with all the notes but one, and I cant find a way to delete or do over just that one note (im using the sequencer for drum sounds at the moment)
Just tap that steo’s button when *not* in step-edit mode. (You may have to be in record mode, not sure)
@@overand or hold down Erase and press the step.
Is it possible to shift All notes slightly to the left/right?
You can nudge a sequence left or right one step at a time.
Great piece of gear !!!!
Le Digitakt fait déjà tout ça mais mieux
C’est un sampler le Digitakt nan ? Tu peux brancher tes synthé dessus et faire une séquence de 4 pistes ?
I will pay $100 more for a version of Keystep Pro with full size keys! The shortness of the minikeys really messes up all my muscle memory from practicing on pianos. When I play normally my fingers end up at the very top of the black keys and it's hard to press them down from the very top.
I have two main issues with the KeyStep Pro. One is the keyed. After some use of this product, I concluded I'm not fan of the SlimKey. I wish my KeyStep Pro had the keys from their MiniLab MK2; those keys are better (though not full size)!
@ghost mall Totally disagree. I’ve had a KSP since they came out, and them keys are tiny and annoying.
The keystep pro has a midi in right?
@@scharnier Yes. And two MIDI outs.
@@RayMcNamaraMusic so you could just control the keystep with another keyboard that does have full sized keys and midi out right?
Seems like a great product.. I'm English, i also speak French fluently , but i really struggle with the presenters accent. I just don't get half of what he says! Am i the only one?
Yeah. A bit
Nice tutorial, but that example *melody* is really nervy.
It's seriously bad. Suggest Loopop's tutorial and even BoBeat's demo for something closer to music.
What *I* haven’t been able to figure out is: can you edit a step “silently” while the pattern/sequence is playing? (I’m other words, edit the step without the note you select playing as you press the key?)
You can use the pitch nob for that
@@RayMcNamaraMusic Yep, someone on the Arturia forums helpfully pointed that out to me, too! I do still hope for a better option, but, that will work for now!
